Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts

'Tisn't. (I honestly don't know, I'm mildly embarrassed to admit that I haven't played it yet. (Although I do have a Lvl 50 smuggler in TOR, which counts for...something...)) ...Just because the game isn't going in your favor isn't a good reason to quit the game. My social life outside of Heroica is...fairly non-existent, but if I had quit every time I felt depressed about the way that game was going...You sign up to play a game, you play it through the good...and the bad.- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts

Contrariwise to Heroica, this place depends on one's ability to talk and reason. And having finally learned the majority of the rough basics of the way this game functions, I'm ready to roll. ...And what kind of evidence do you propose we try and find? Shall we ask "Will the real scum please stand up?". ...And I said...Just never mind. You're either trying to intentionally distort my posts, or you're not putting in even the small amount of effort required to read them. Either way... There has actually been some research on that, by our own Talon Card and contributors. One of the original CS sets has a printed wall panel with 2 0 7 9 on it. Which is 100 years after the set's release, which is a suitable "far-off future date". This being the correct date of CS is further boosted by the CS predecessor-esque logos of modern City Space. The specific year of this game, excluding variables like "different notions of year," according to the flavor text, is 2515.- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
Lind Whisperer replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
No, you said "I wouldn't outright say I was defending him...," and I was quoting a post where you did outright say you were defending him. Then you're really bad at reading, because I've been alternating between possibly wild hypothesizes(hypothesi? hypopottimi?) about what may or may not have been a joke*, and telling you that you've been posting fluff. ...And I also said that saying that there's "very little post" on day one is fluff, and the least a poster can do is make a joke about it.If you're going to try and use what I say in my posts as some sort of...something, at least read 'em. *Although after re-reading it, and comparing the tone to the first half of the message in 2's post, I'm fairly certain it was a joke, and it was all just paranoia on my part. Fairly. ...So are we shifting into a serious discussion of...'issues' here, or is this all still in character?- 214 replies

When did I try to lynch him? I thought 4 of 2's post was scummy, I proposed a theory. We were still miles away from talking about lynching.Way to jump the gun. Way to jump the gun, man... ...Please read what you've already posted, before you post. I could regret getting out of bed on the left side, instead of the right. People, quit posting fluff. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in picking up that ball you're trying to pass.- 214 replies

...So your first reaction is to leap and defend the powerful player. Because...why, exactly?* So...calling someone out because I thought their post seemed scummy, and then not instantly dropping that opinion after I'd made it was "harping," in your estimation? *For those who don't get the obvious point, I'm saying that to defend someone, you need to provide a reason why you're defending them. (Well, I suppose you don't need to provide one - although yeah, having a reason, even a bad one, makes you look a heck of a lot less scummy - but still... ) ^Word. ...If you don't have anything to add, don't add anything.- 214 replies

We also probably aren't likely to slightly be existent in this hypothetical mortal realm. ...At least try and post something besides "This is a fluff post, in which I'll state the blatantly obvious." Even if it's just a joke about how there's very little to post besides fluff...- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts

Because you are objectively the best player here. If you were to pull Godfather, and get in the town block, there'd be next to no chance of stopping you. I followed Ragnorok very closely, and read most of Town...Mafia whose name I forget. And I spent a large portion of that time leading up to this worrying what it'd be if you were a Godfather. So when 4 to 2 posted what she/he/whatever the kids are calling it these days did...I may have taken it as a bit too confirming of my pet fears than it really was.May have. Fair-ish. To be fair, it is Day One...Only 33 posts, and I'm already pinging. I'm getting better at this. No, wait, I'm getting worse.- 214 replies

Express away. No, Clementine considers it a possibility. You could very well be right on that. Or you could be trying to clean up 4 of 2's mess. Or we could both be town, while the scum are only making fluff posts.Probably the last one.- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
Lind Whisperer replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
No, Clementine is moderately worried at the possibility of Hinckley Seamus being a Godfather. 4 of 2 had phrased it so that any "joke-ness" was rather vague. We know that we have newbies in this game, that might not be fully used to Mafia, and it seems logical that the scum might try and take advantage of that fact. If Seamus were to be a Godfather, than the scum could take the chance of having 4 of 2 called out for being scum, since since there's no way to find a Godfather except lynching. Run the risk of loosing a goon, possibly get PRs. (Explanation of Logic: Hinckley always gets investigated first. Tradition of the game. Scum need to know town PRs. Godfathers don't turn up as scum. So, if Technic(as a goon) tricks newbies and directs traffic towards him(Hinckley as Godfather), even at the cost of getting killed, the scum team gets /invaluable/ information - while Hinckley won't ever come up as scum /because he's a Godfather/ - meaning he can sit and run the game.)- 214 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 1, Stellar Conflicts
Lind Whisperer replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, you can either start the day out by making a short post about fluffy space sheep, fluffy space clouds, or fluffy space cotton candy - or you can start the day out by having fun and making a few jokes. Thoroughly enjoying the subject matter, I decided to go with the second. No, this is day one, you don't claim anything unless you're being lynched. No one knows anyone's alignment at this point, except scum. And you've played many, many more games than I have, so you should already know this... You wouldn't be trying to take advantage of the fact that several of our players are new, and be hoping that you could trick them into PMing your team important information...would you?- 214 replies

"Yay! Colonel Jones successfully vacated our bowels!"  ...So...was that, "No...there's clues in the pictures", or "there are no clues in the pictures"?OoC(Because I play too much Heroica): ^Is a joke, and is posted as a joke. See #12 and #13. I'm glad you asked if it just sounded like a plan - 'cause if you'd asked if it was a good plan, I'd have totally had to say no.- 214 replies

From what I've seen, I'd vote either Ziegfried or Shadeaux. From a personal level, I'd vote *DRAGONS* because, well, *DRAGONS* - and because after the bit of teamwork in the #138 side-quest, I think it'd just plain be cool to have Warlen/Lind as some sort of team(and you just can't make a cooler team than a DRAGON-RIDING DUO   ), but, that's just IMHO/IMCIC(In My Humble Crazed Imagined Canon). From a RP standpoint...a Necromancer probably'd fit better though, if you're trying to have Warlen "go evil/violent". Good point.
-
Also, I'm seriously thinking I need to change my username already. When it gets to the point where you're wondering which Lind they're talking about...You need to change it.
-
Hmm... I thought Kinto was saying she felt uncertain inside as to how she felt about it... It's probably because of my taking a break there, but how has Warlen changed? He seems about the same as he was before my break, except that he suddenly had a vendetta against Vorpalis... That's a good point...
-
But then again...Lind didn't really act that differently from Warlen in #138. Except for the end, he was kind of distant also...I think I need to spend some time making sure the character I am playing, is like the character I think I'm playing... Arthur and Hoke are optimized for their classes, whereas Guts seemed to be optimized for best class transition...Tough question.

Lind, Warlen, and Annienal are in a love triangle. So far, Lind's still technically ahead of Warlen*, but that lead was somewhat tempered by Lind arriving at the Hall drunk, in what was clearly a very long-in-coming RP moment**, and not just the least incriminating in-universe explanation for what was supposed to be a hilarious disguise***.Flipz has steadily cheered for Warlen+Annie, whereas I've steadily cheered for Lannie. It could just be my opinion, but from a solely OoC standpoint, I just don't really think Warlen really meshes with Annie. Annie's the quiet, book-loving type, whereas Warlen is more focused on getting the best gear possible/making himself as strong as possible. Which Lind is also of course doing, but...I don't know. Even though he's often spending a lot of that time arguing with them****, Lind spends a lot more time interacting with other people. Warlen...doesn't, from what I've seen. He interacts, but...He doesn't get quite as emotionally involved. *Having kissed Annienal. **Go back over all...three quests. Multiple times, Lind's turned down alcohol in favor of water. Clearly long-in-coming character development. Clearly. ***Someone really needs to add "Global Accents" to the Library... ****Which I'm trying to tone down. Ending of #138***** was really getting close to how I'm trying to play Lind. *****Speaking of which, is anyone ever going to post the side-quests from #138?

How did I not get that one? Yeah, that's a Portal reference, all right.
