  1. Seconded heartily.
  2. Good game, everyone, and congratulations to the winners! Dragonfire+Hinckley+Ranger - great playing with you guys, hope we can do it again sometime. With Hinck on Town Block? Never! Seriously, though, you would have almost certainly been today's lynch, if y'all hadn't won. Don't hide. If you're not playing, you're not playing.
  3. Yeah, I realized that after I went back through the PMs. For some reason, I thought we'd agreed you would stay home last night. Okay, faith in humanity restored. Or at least part of it. According to the Scumboard, he was the Godfather.
  4. ...And I suddenly realize that Hinck was supposed to kill Bob. Too many blooming pages.... Sorry about that, Hinck.
  5. ...So did Hinckley kill Bob to aid scum, or to not aid scum? Because he isn't listed among the winners, but he directly violated his stated actions, which is a scum move...But he didn't win...
  6. Does Dragon Blood grant anything? That would be interesting, if the quest revolved around gathering ingredients - consume them now, and reap the benefits now, or wait and see what could be made... Hmmm... Is the drink supposed to poison the drinker?
  7. UNEDITED PICTURES! UNEDITED PICTURES! UNEDITED PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Not that I'm excited, or anything. Oh no, nothing of the sort. UNEDITED PICTURESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Who's bringing the marshmellows?
  9. I like to think of it as "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Also, it makes standing at the front of the line taking free hits have some point to it - although you're right, it definitely is dangerous. Which will get less so as Lind gets more health...but then it'll also get harder to get damaged... I guess I and Lind just place a lot of value on each gear piece and how we got it. We don't like switching them much, so we pick the parts that matter the most to us and stick with them.I didn't embed my Ruby in Star-Breaker mostly because...well, because I was broke, but also because I wasn't/aren't entirely planning on using it as a base for a weapon build. At that point, we had no idea how Sandy might be running the Clash, and in the tiny, tiny chance there would be a Dream Forge style forge, Djinn, etc., I wanted to at least have a halberd in hand, in case there was any way Lind could wheel, deal, or barter "Inflicts Frailty" into it.
  10. Thanks - I'll keep that in mind... Sorry, but I love my x2 against Humanoids too much. Even without Fragile(assuming I'm wounded past half health, and that I'm doing the math even half correctly), that's 5 x 2(Humanoid bonus) (10), x another 2 (Amethyst)(20) x still one more x 2 (Encouraged) = 40 damage from a WP: 5 weapon. Not bad. Or to be more specific and class-accurate, assuming I roll a SHIELD: 4x WP: (4x5 = 20)x 2 x 2 = 80 + 22 = 102 damage. Which could admittedly be higher...but that's from a WP:5 weapon. A few trips to Anwyl's, and I'll start dishing out the real damage. (Or, of course, a better halberd drop + then swapping the Amythist between the weapons...)
  11. I'm starting to wonder if I made a bad choice in picking the Netherwings... Of course, if I can just embed the right materials in Star-Breaker(or a subsequent halberd drop - or a subsequent halberd drop renamed Star-Breaker, etc., etc...), it should be worth it. (((X2 to Humanoids(Netherwings) + X2 to Humanoids (Star-Breaker Imbued with Amethyst)) x 2 (Encouraged(Invader Armor, Imbued with Scroll of Frailty and +2 Bright Polishes, making it equal to a suit of Heavy Armour))) x 2 (Star-Breaker Imbued with Scroll of Frailty at Dream Forge or similar smithy.) I'd need to double check Sandy's tables to make the numbers are all in the right order, but still - that's a lot of x2s... (I could of course get a better torso drop than the Invader Armor, this is just my current plan until something changes.)
  12. Lind, but Lind can probably make up with most of them. Jinnipher...probably doesn't plan on doing that any time soon. No need to hurry too much, Lind needs to gear up.Someone post a quest for newbie midlevels...
  13. What are the chances of Judgement Day starting prior to Jan. 1st, 2016? Having the two most vocal candidates for Crescent on a quest together would be very interesting... These would be particularly useful if you were on a quest a la #138/#103, where one of the party members is only level 1, and everyone else is 20+.
  14. And Guts would be the first nomination to that Cabinet, as Minster of Finance. (Although we'd quarrel over that tax bit. How can you fund a government without any taxes? )
  15. That's a good point...Hmm...A King's Cabinet, to help get that sort of thing put together.I like it...
  16. From the #135 ending, I thought Pretzel was allying Wolfgang? Leave #122-era Lind out of that compilation, that was an Lex Luthor head colored yellow in LDraw.
  17. Lind doesn't know the future, he's/I'm just predicting/making his best assumption as to what will likely happen.
  18. Exactly. But the problem with that, is that those are Gut's "plans". They're fluid. He doesn't know what's going to happen in the next few years. What if he gets properly married, and has a kid like Karie did? He's going to suddenly start caring about legacy. And supposing that doesn't happen, what happens in the case that he does die? Eubric is in such a state that a few years aren't going to do enough difference to get the city onto a stable track - it's just going to fall apart again, or there's going to be another power vacuum to be filled - probably both.Guts has good intentions, yes, but so have hundreds of people before him. Good intentions aren't going to be enough to change this city. People need to take a step back, and logically think about how we can change this city. Just voting in a leader that "doesn't really care about legacy" isn't going to be enough to do that. I will, however cede to my opponent that he raises good points in that strength is needed to strengthen this city - but not force. To stabilize this city, we need the strength of a people united towards making this a better city. Any other way will collapse around us. Let's place a vote for working together.
  19. Agreed - good definition of the situation, Flipz!
  20. It's not its force, it's its people.Eubric is the center hub where hundreds - thousands - of different races have converged and live side by side. A hundred different nations, nationalities, and representatives, all centered in one city. Ships that ship all around the world, the city where leaders secretly convene, the city where they hire their heroes - Eubric is the center of Olegia. It's not just a port, it's a hub. Exactly. And he knows that. He doesn't think that he's a "perfect" leader. And that's what makes him a prime candidate. He's keenly aware of his flaws, and he's aware of the ways in which he might make more mistakes. No, no one's beyond corruption. But the person that doesn't want the power of a kingship, and understands keenly how easy it is to be corrupted, is going to take the longest to be corrupted - and has the most chances of realizing on-coming corruption, and stopping it. I'm playing him as he'd act. He sees a power void that risks - to the point of inevitability - being filled with a candidate that will succumb to corruption. And he's the only person he can trust to not succumb, or to step away if he does succumb.Good leaders aren't cocky. They may not be perfect. They know that they aren't infallible. All they can do, is do what they know is right.
  21. No. If he was a true leader, who had studied history, he'd keep doing what he knew was right, no matter how depressing it was.And that's another thing. If a leader is happy, and the world's going along smoothly, everything's just fine. But when something bad does come, they won't be prepared as well as they might be. But a depressed leader, that's a true leader? They're going to be expecting any and every bad outcome, and have prepared for them. Which do you want - a leader that's prepared for the good and the bad? Or a leader that likes the idea of leading people through happy times?
  22. I don't know enough about Natasha to predict how she'd rule, but ruling Eubric - it's just too corruptive for anyone to rule/half-rule, unless they specifically don't aspire to that kind of power.Eubric is the center lynchpin for the entire known world of Olegia. The ruler(s) won't just control a town, they'll be influencing the entire planet. It doesn't matter how good someone's ideals and leadership traits are starting out, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Except, in the case of a leader who specifically doesn't aspire to that kind power being elected. That is the only way that the relatively stable dynamic that the Houses have created can continue to exist, or, better still, to mature into something greater. Without a leader such as that, Eubric - and likely the world - will soon be slaving under either a tyrant or an oligarchy. Vote Lind 2015. "Forget Power. Let's Get This Place Cleaned Up - Together."
  23. I was just guessing at what he might have meant - it seemed like perfectly good plot logic to me...
  24. Same. And I'd love to see this one as well...
