Although I'd feel for the kid, I'd keep in mind that possibly the parent can't afford terribly much, and that they're trying to get the kid to agree to a "cheaper" brand so the kid can have a bigger play experience than a tiny LEGO set. Obviously LEGO is the better option always, but at that age, to a lot of kids, they really are the same.

Played, taking a break though.

That's why I was asking. Typically, little bright red imp-like creatures are evil, and typically imps are "mischievous" - or malevolent, might be a better word. With the way that Heroica both subverts and upholds tropes, I was wondering which way it went.

"Sorry honey, you can't drive a vehicle! That's a man's job!" They're "male-dominated" because men typically have stronger upper body strength, and because those careers are typically more dangerous, so men are the ones who are more typically interested in pursuing them. Not all men. Not all women. But "male-dominated" carries certain meanings, and it doesn't apply to the examples you listed. We can all agree that they were most appealing to the resalers. To be successful as a member of either gender, do what will make you succeed to succeed.* They used to. Now, it's the boys sets that are becoming less focused on "taking things apart" - see every major theme in stores - while "girls sets" keep getting more and more detailed building, while still not being focused on "taking things apart". Neither one is on a good trajectory. Yes...let's introduce even more confusion about gender. *Were I in a sarcastic turn of mind, I'd finish the sentence with "-and then, after having worked your hardest, find out that they're hiring someone else with lower grades because of quotas." - but that wouldn't be politically correct, so I won't.

Phew - I was afraid I'd missed Quest #666: Imps are Nice. There is so much of both subverting and upholding of fantasy tropes in this game...
-
...It might just be POV, but, uh...shouldn't giving an entire race of mischief-making creatures the ability to cross into this realm fall under the evil category? Sure, Hybros is good...but so are most heroes, give or take. Not necessarily the imps as a race...

Oh, it's great dialog, Flipz just keeps trying to kill off Arthur. Lind would be with Hoke in that he definitely wouldn't be pro-messing-around-with-immortal-beings-called-Old-Gods-that-he-knows-nothing-about*, but he'd be with Arthur in that he wouldn't be straight-up talking/thinking/planning about going and killing Guffington's friend. *It's different than pledging allegiance to Immortalis. Allegiance to Immortalis = Allegiance to a greater being he's actually seen doing something for the greater good. Messing around with beings called Old Gods...there's just no way that's going to turn out well...
-
If they don't, though, and Hoke doesn't back down, Arthur's really going to be fighting to the death? Darn it, Flipz, quit trying to kill off one of Heroica's most beloved characters!

Go Arthur!

The black knight spread his arms wide and smiled. "Always glad to do business. What might you be interested in?"

LEGO Dimensions – Counting the LEGO Multiverse
Lind Whisperer replied to TalonCard's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If I might propose and name...*drumroll*... It is something of a long shot, seeing as how Exo-Force failed to make or have any out-of-theme references...except for this tile, which appeared on the Ninjago Mechdragon in 2013: Look familiar at all? Try comparing it to this: It's not definite proof of anything, but it certainly leaves the possibility open, and until there's proof to the contrary, I think its safe to list it as a realm.* *It's highly unlikely, based on maps, technological achievements, etc. that Sentai Mountain is in 1300. Nor is does it seem to be an "off-world" reference a la Clutch Powers - although this is admittedly possible. -
#loudoutshadeauxsupporterhere ^Also, in Lind's opinion, were he to be questioned about it, he's not being disloyal to his faction, he's helping the greater good - heroes typically are on the "good" side, more or less, so, ergo, by supplying them with better gear he's helping the greater good. But like Kinto sort of said, it helps that Lind hasn't actually had too terribly much interaction with any of the Houses - his signing up for the running* was actually the first direct "interaction" he's had. *He's still running, the resignation was retconned**. **Helped by the fact that it wasn't in-character. Were it to have been in character, that'd have been a lot more difficult.

Well, thanks. Is that any better? I edited out the pictures. Also, just in general, does anyone have/see any problems with my prices? I get that it's a bit of a mark-up on the bigger items, but they're all items of which you really only need one, so I was trying to reflect the fact that "repeat shopping" wasn't going to be happening with those.

You can say that again...Only 1000 gold, Alliance membership, a standard five-member party, and you're at 25: SP. Not too shabby at all... Quite true.

A certain black knight returned to the Hall, a tiny silver crescent badge pinned to his gambeson declaring him as now being a member of the Crescent Union. He strode over to the Quest Board, and tacked up a large poster: Costs 260 gold. Costs 155 gold. Costs 625 gold. Costs 1250 gold. Costs 1250 gold. After a moment, he added an addendum:

I think it's the right place for it, unless we want to establish a specific thread for "non-quest-based exposition scenes". That's actually why I was asking - I have one in white, but not in Light Blue Grey. Thaaaaaaat...Would definitely not be because life really just hit a bad moment and I rage-quit, but eventually realized that Sandy had made a game that was too compelling to drop out of.Not at all...
-
I understand that it can only be used "by the owner," but is there anything to prevent a single group of questees from buying a ring together, and then taking turns going into shops with the ring?
-
Hmm...Thanks.

"It was an obvious joke." The Black Knight would have looked at his watch if he'd had one, but he hadn't, so he didn't. He nodded to Skrall. "It was excellent questing with you, sir."Then he turned, and quietly left the Hall.
-
5, 5, 2...The race is slowly heating up... Now that, is clever photography! Sandy: Is this White, or Light Blue Grey? The picture looks like it could go either way...
-
And Lind's a lot more sane than he comes off, but just say a single word about magical dice in the sky, and everyone starts looking at you funny... Boomingham's from the past?
-
What level?
-
The black knight also approached the bar. "Any of those empty seats empty?"
-
I'd have something up now, but my personal life is just too complicated to devote the time to it... You can learn a lot from the older players in this game - even the middle-length players.
-
...Says the person whose protests against it were the reason that the Dodekube's been mostly dropped... Granted, that was slightly different - but not all that much. Either we stick to creating lore that works for other players, or we have the freedom to create our own lore, just so long as it doesn't directly violate in-game canon.
