  1. Ooc: My apologies. I was trying to speed things up by saying that Lind and Vindsval repeated their earlier encounter, including the loan.
  2. Lind and Asphalt repeat their earler bit of interaction(Asphalt lending Lind 2 gold), and Lind buys a Beginner's Hand.
  3. If I might, here are two suggestions for the reboot: The first Beginners Hand costs 5 gold. The others cost more, possibly on an exponential basis. The Decamon Drafter prize is given out in a Letter of Recommendation style to a single player, like it was intended - this style allows for the player to resell it to another player in the event that they personally are not interested in taking the class. However, in keeping with the style of the contest, the player can only resell it to other players who nearly won the contest as well - possibly the top 3-5 players suggested. A few more suggestions, these a bit more "out there": Just remove all Hands besides the Beginner's. It may not seem fair, but it will force players to focus harder on their game, to win better cards off of the NPCs and other players, and, (although this is not taking into account the few players who already have them), it would certainly make the playing field extremely leveled. If giving out the Decamon Drafter class Letter of Recommendation style is not decided to be a good idea, perhaps give out Decamon Reputation to the top winning players instead, so that they can save it up and eventually train the class someday?
  4. Ooc: Okay then. Party Actions: Grimwald - Uses Smoke Bomb Darksten - Consumes Chicken Leg Grimwald - Heals Party With Ether Grimwald - Consumes Tonic, Restoring Ether QM Question: Will my Decks leave the battle with me, or will I need to spend a turn after we restart the battle retrieving them?
  5. Ooc: What was Grimwald before he turned Sage? Is he capable of intentional healing? If so, this might be wasteful of resources, but here's my suggestion for our next actions: 1. Throw a Smoke Bomb, causing us to exit the battle. 2. Grimwald heals myself and Darksten. 3. Grimwald consumes a Tonic, leaving him at almost full ether. 4. We restart the battle. It does use up a Smoke Bomb and a Tonic, but as opposed to burning through another Phoenix Essence, I think it might be the better choice. I know we'll lose our progress on the battle so far, but if he Revives me, Grimwald is going to get badly pummeled, and Darksten will nearly get killed just by the free hits alone.
  6. Quick question: I understand that cards can't be bought from the vendor after the tournament has started, but what about between players? Say someone draws a high level card mid-game - could someone buy it off them? Or could they trade the card for card(/s) that the players consider to be equivalent in value?
  7. My vote's for letting things stay as they are. It may not be optimal, but it'd be less complicated then restarting everything. Also, it means that there will be all the more glory for any players who manage to play their way up from the bottom.
  8. Even with a deck cap, people can just select their highest cards and discard the lower, less useful ones*. In my humble opinion, the best "fair-for-all" solution would probably be a complicated formula based on dividing each person's deck up by rank, type, range, mean, and mode,. Of course, the main problem with that is the writing if such a formula... *Obviously some lower cards can trump higher cards, I was referring to cases where a person has, say, a Fiery 1 and a Fiery 5, they would keep the 5 and cast away the 1.
  9. Inspired by all of the talking about PMs in Gen, I was inspired to create a new variant of Decamon. Whereas a game of normal Decamon requires some simple logic, I tried to create a game that is almost purely luck(since there is no way to find out who is winning until after the game is run): Pirate's Luck Decamon 1. Both players choose their five cards, and make any bets. 2. Both players PM their five card choices to the QM, and the order in which they want the cards to be played 3. The QM tabulates up all five hands, and posts the result. I was thinking of writing it into one of my planned trilogy, any thoughts?
  10. You want confusion, try writing your own RPG and then trying to learn your own rules*... *Talking from on-going experience...
  11. It could be kind of hard to go "hidden hands" for the several players with only five cards...
  12. "Let's hope this works..." Battle Order: Grimwald - Cheshire Cat A, Back Row Lind Whisperer - Drinks Potion, Back Row Darksten - Cheshire Cat B, Back Row
  13. You can buy the Decamonizer in the Fields of Glory, which will convert certain monsters into cards. You can only play if you have a full 5 card deck, so even if you lose all of them, you enter with enough cards to finish the round.
  14. And once more, Sandy proves how awesome he/she is. Also, thanks again Asphalt - I've been looking forward to the Tournament for a while. I should have been a bit more careful of my coins when I was gearing up for the FOG.
  15. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Retrieves Cards Grimwald - Drinks Grand Potion Darksten - Cheshire Cat A
  16. Okay, if this one comes out, I have to collect them. I was so close to having the full set... *looks off into the distance, lost in the memories...*
  17. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Dryad, Back Row Grimwald - Cheshire Cat A, Back Row Darksten - Bugbear Healer A, Back Row
  18. Might I suggest a moderate cap on how many cards be purchased be imposed? I'm not trying to interfere with other players' abilities to "purchase, pick, and choose" - indeed, if I had the gold I'd be doing it myself - I'm just suggesting a moderate cap, say perhaps 75 gold or so? Low enough so that players with only five cards don't have to go against players with decks full of 8s, but high enough so that players with gold reserves can have some benefit from them.
  19. Ooc: Noticing the need for gold in the upcoming tournement, would either of you be interested in buying my Bone for 2 gold?
  20. Don't be worried, your attempt didn't go up in flames that badly... Sorry for the burn.
  21. "Yes, that would probably be best for the party as a whole. With that goal in mind, unless there are any objections, I should like to keep this Phoenix Essence with me, since you both already have at least one each. It could be a bit tricky if I was the only one still standing, with no means of reviving anyone." Loot Division: Darksten: Chicken Drumstick Lind Whisperer: Phoenix Essence "Unless there are any objections, let us proceed to the Apple Orchard, while still playing fair. I do hope any dryads we meet will leaf us alone..."
  22. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Scarecrow, Back Row Grimwald - Scarecrow, Back Row Darksten - Scary Crow B, Back Row
  23. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Scarecrow, Back Row Grimwald - Potion, Back Row Darksten - Scary Crow B, Back Row
  24. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Scarecrow Grimwald - Potion Darksten - Scary Crow A Ooc: Darksten: Sorry for miswriting your attack last round as the Hen. QM: Shouldn't the Hen be -19 health because of the Shield?
  25. Battle Order: Lind Whisperer - Scarecrow Grimwald - Scarecrow Darksten - Feral Hen A
