It's so funny to see the same people that condemned the doom and gloom people like me "promoted" months ago using the same arguments used by those pessimists. By the way I have a couple of things to add to the topic when I get home.

MOCs: The Six Sisters - Ancient Protectors
TwistLaw replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Ahah I perfectly know that Logan, I just found it curious that this time around we had an all female cast. It bothers me the gender distribution BIONICLE uses, sure this is something new (that we'd never see in real life because muh kids need to see themselves in the toys). -
Probably victim #1 of this summer's low budget. A shame G2 has yet to give us villains on par with the good guys, except UtD. Quake Beast is just... ugly. A function far from being elegant, a colour scheme all over the place as usual, piece selection simply questionable. I ain't one of those people who love to bash on G2, but I really miss classic villains.

Cool guy with a more boring concept than the original. Still cool on its own, but with some strange techniques used here and there.
-
This guy looks great, no doubt. I agree he's the best looking Toa of the year, but for me he ties with Onua. By the way, this is the first time we see the piston add on attached through pins in an official set, isn't it? And the Umarak mask is just delicious.

This. Seriously, this little boy is perfect.

Are you telling me that these two guys... ...are more clonish than these two? I don't really wanna sound rude, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here. Of course, it could have gone worse, it could have been like this... ...but at the end of the day I think that the Uniters did an amazing job at being similar-but-not-too-much to their previous incarnation. Heck, I personally think they're perfect at this: masks similar but not replicas, builds with different pieces yet with an overall similarity (except colour schemes, but well that's G2 what did you expect). I'd honestly love to understand your point of view, as I said I'm sure that I'm missing something.

Okay, now I understand. It's still an original opinion, but I get what you mean and I agree somehow.
-
So you're saying that W16 is the worst just because it wasn't as good as W15? Well, that's... interesting. I thought that being the worst dependend on how bad the wave was, not because on any comparison.

G2 actually had many great sets. Umarak the Hunter, Protector of Earth, Uniter Onua, Master Kopaka, Uxar, Toa Ekimu... can't really pick only one.

MOCs: The Six Sisters - Ancient Protectors

Awesome stuff as usual, you're an artist of CCBS. but... >they're all females mmh -
Not that kind of argument. Please, just don't. 95% of BIONICLE buyers are kids and they don't give a fat sheet about what a group of grown ups says on websites they don't even know exist. lol what BIONICLE 2016 is literally the first time they even tried changing CCBS aesthetics. From 2011 until 2015 you saw more or less the same pieces organized with small variations. This year we had new pieces creating a new aesthetics and tons of custom builds. And the Toa Nuva were, in retrospect, an embarrassing (and wonderful, I freaking love them) attempt to cash in the success of the Mata with the smallest effort. In 2002 even BZPower didn't like the similarities between weapons, probably the only mistake this year's Toa "Nuva 2.0" repeated. Something they don't even need to mention? That doesn't sound like good advertisment for me. Other than that I mostly agree with you, you raise many interesting points. They made many mistakes with G2, even though I'll never fully understand what made HF more interesting and succesful than this second generation of BIONICLE.

Bless this post. Like, I 100% agree with everything you said. Last year's summer introduced more masks (3 vs 2), more weapons (2 vs 0) and in general more pieces. While having its own faults, it was miles better than this year's. And the blend of Technic and CCBS, along with new aesthetics in general, made this winter seem like a purchase worth more than your average HF set (winter 2015, while being near perfect, was still too close to what HF looked like for years).
-
Title says it all. To be clearer, worst as in having the less interesting builds, uninteresting colours, less cohesive looks etc. EDIT: I know the 2017 sets are yet to be seen, the poll is of course meant to describe the current perception of the line by the fans.
-
Since its introduction in 2011 CCBS has evolved in many interesting ways that, especially since 2014, allowed us to understand how far can the system go. In 2016 we had for the first time two themes fully coexisting througout the year: BIONICLE and Star Wars. Both offered a wide range of builds and techinques, with the winter wave of BIONICLE creating a unique blend of CCBS and Technic and SW crafting models close to perfection. And while the BIONICLE summer wave for this year contains the controversial beasts, Umarak and Ekimu are respectively the first G2 titan and a perfect blend of 2015 and 2016 BIONICLE builds. On top of that, the recently leaked SW sets make it seems like the bar may be set even higher. In short: do you think we're living the best CCBS year as of yet?

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
TwistLaw replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Black piston armour. This alone makes the droid worth buying. If only the BIONICLE summer wave looked half as good, this would be without a doubt the best year ever for CCBS. -
*by a vocal minority of an already small community. Most of the hottest questions have already been posted. How about some pictures when Dorek gets there?

That beast looks pretty bad... It's painful to see this reboot having such good looking winter waves and... debatable summer waves, to put it mildly. The day we'll accept that G2 didn't do well mostly because of this, it will be a turning point for the BIONICLE community. Out of all the reasons the line may have bombed (yes, I know there are no official statements etc.) the summer waves are a #1 on the list in my opinion.

god I hate being european... in Italy I've never ever seen LEGO sets on discount. At least, at less than the 80% of their price.

It's literally a badly photoshopped G1 Vahi.
-
I still have some doubts about purchasing the second graphic novel. Is it drawn as badly as the first one? Because I still have nightmares remebering things like this.
-
It's very easy. At the end of 2017 we find out that the Toa have been sent from another universe, the Vahi has something to with it and that a wise, mysterious being sent the Toa to Okoto. Credits start scrolling and BIONICLE goes silent until 2031. Very simple, very clean and no super-complicated plothole from G1 needs to be explained in the process.
-
Again, this is just speculation and I don't think it would be safe to say "they're connected!" nor "they're not!", but I think there are a couple of hints that should direct us towards the former. As far as the powers of the Vahi are concerned, G2's Vahi may be a "sister mask" of G1, being able to function also as a Olmak of sorts having that special something that only Vahis of different dimensions have. Speculation, I said, but I don't like people stating facts so early. by the way edit your post lambda, before vvbn does it (no need to quote an image just above your post)
