I'm just in love with this build! I really like all the vegetation, that little mountain, those Orcs, and Leon looks like an awesome character. Great job and I can't wait to see what else you make! -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Yzalirk replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I may actually not get 200 bricks, what would seem like a reasonable number? I know I want to do small vignettes because I know I can always do good with those but I want to show off a build representing my "base" or kingdom somehow, like maybe a main gate or something but I'm not sure what would be used for the gate. I also really want to get the brick pices that look like bricks, I like those. -
I never knew LEGO came out with tube like pieces. Where could I find them on BrickLink? They were used in these pictures I found off Google.

Alright. I am getting about 200 light gray 2x1 bricks and I have some baseplates and plates to build on so I think that will do. I might get more plates though just in case. -

Since I'm one a very tight budget, I might have not gotten the pieces to build you guys like I had wished but I may show a picture of the stuff I've gotten so you guys can tell me what to use. I may be able to build sig-figs like Dextrus Flagg for the record. -
Nice little freebuild.

I listen to music everyday and I know a lot of songs you'd like if you're in Rock, Grunge, and/or Metal. I recommend Godsmack, Disturbed, Device, KoRn, Soundgarden, Silverchair, and so on. But I'll list the songs I listen to the most. Serenity - Godsmack Shine Down - Godsmack Livin' In Sin - Godsmack I Stand Alone - Godsmack Vampires - Godsmack Greed - Godsmack Awake - Godsmack Immune - Godsmack Voodoo - Godsmack Down with the Sickness - Disturbed Stupify - Disturbed Land of Confusion - Disturbed Stricken - Disturbed Prayer - Disturbed Another Brick in the Wall (Pts 1, 2, &3) - KoRn Alone I Break - KoRn Did My Time - KoRn Make Me Bad - KoRn There are also lots more to listen to though.

I'm surprised no one brought anything up about reptiles. Anyways, I may get two Bearded Dragons sometime next summer. They are awesome pets and very nice to have. I should also mention the types and colors and very awesome too. I'm not sure if I'll be getting a Silkback but a Leatherback would be awesome to have.

Okay, that seems very fair. I will likely end up doing something like that and as for potions, I'm glad you brought that up because I am ordering just about one of each different potion on BrickForge and they look awesome. I really do want to show some trial and error experiments and having some really bad outcomes just for the fact it shows what can happen if it's not done properly, which I really like a lot. So expect some unfortunate deaths. But for potion effects, I was thinking on effects that last forever but it's not easy to make those types of potions. I'll scrap the idea for battery because where my set location would be in Kaliphlin really won't make much sense with it anyways (I plan on being is a lush and forested area, maybe on the border of Avalonia?). I really do like the use of glass for certain things and since Kaliphlin has more sand than any other "province" in GoH, glass shouldn't be that hard to get. Lastly, the only thing that worries me about building is how I'd make a house and a castle wall. Since I'll have my own little faction, I guess I could use my very own style that's just unique to them. I was thinking of doing brickwork with tiles like how lots of people do but I'm not sure if I'll get enough 2x1 tiles. And would it be safe to get say 100 2x1 bricks or should I get more? I like using gray a lot so I'll most likely get gray bricks the most. Also, thanks for the advice, it helps me out a lot. I'll try to get a build or two up each week when I get my orders. -

I'd like to say that the power can run out and they'd have to wait for another thunderstorm to harvest electricity for power. I might scrap that idea if I can think of something a bit more unique (I'm not talking about having thousands of hamsters running on wheels to charge up things) that probably wasn't thought of, but we'll see. -

The best evidence I can give would be this. You could also look up more information about the Baghdad Battery if you'd like. As for advice, it never hurts to get any. The best thing I could think of would be a type of gem or some sort of key... Also, for "Genetically Engineering" The Grustrag Three, one of the best ways I can think of is almost creating them like how Saruman created the Uruk Hai. Some sort of magic could work, no? But I can't let go of the idea of using some type of stasis chamber made from glass. I plan on getting 15 minifigs I'd use but I'll be reusing them for other characters too. My builds will hopefully be medium sized but I also have four large green baseplates I could use for somewhat large battles and I intend on using them for my builds too. Awesome advice, I will do that instead. I will reveal no more about my faction after the thing about the Grustrag Bolt below, that's the last bit of lore I'll reveal. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also don't remember if I elaborated that much on what The Grustrag Three does after defeating an important person but they attack a device to their leg called a Grustrag Bolt that makes them weaker to the people my society, drains their stamina faster, limits magic use, and makes them fatigued more often. The device can't be taken off unless a Grustrag Bolt Release is made. The schematic for it can be obtained from my society (we don't sell them though) or Dwarves. -

I haven't intended on making batteries but if I wanted to, I could. It's very possible to do, look up Ancient Batteries and/or look at a diagram here. It would also fit with the Kaliphlin style quite well but it would have to be something I'd say "attempted" in the sense no one really knows how to make it. As for Genetically Engineering three people, I think I can do that somehow through the use of Magic somehow. I can't part without that idea for The Grustrag Three since they are practically born killers unless I can say they've been almost "genetically altered" or experimented on to be almost "Godly" in combat. In short, I'll find a way to make it work. -

I still need to place my orders but I've been quite busy for the past few days that I haven't gotten to it. I might not be very busy today, it depends, so hopefully I'll be able to start my orders. I also need to spend my money wisely because all the accessories are expensive that I'm getting. I also need the okay to use my concept first, so is it okay? (Asking everyone here) -
It depends on perspective, I guess. If you were a giant, wouldn't you call a regular sized human a Dwarf?

I have this amazing concept that I think you guys will love, but seriously though, I'd like some honest opinions. So, I've finally decided that I may be going with Orcs after or, or some sort of race similar to Orcs. Anyways, not the point for this idea I've thought of. My guys are a large faction, almost like an empire, that strive for types technology that improves their combat abilities through magic and storing electricity in created gadgets to power up these types of technology. They also produce some higher-tech weapons that is very difficult to make and is very expensive to fund. They are also "Soldiers of Fortune" due to their elite combat effectiveness so if the price is right, they'll side with the highest bidder. Their architecture, I am hoping for, seems like very early industrial on how it's (very) dirty and how much pollution gets created. So at the same time, they're good but bad. They are very skilled metal workers too and self-sustainable by themselves. They do, however, buy from other merchants throughout Kaliphlin. These materials are meat, metal, wood, and weapons. Although they make lots of weapons for their troops, they smelt down swords and shields and breakdowns bows and crossbows for parts for their "technological" advancements. Their leadership consists of a high Council which includes myself (new sig-fig will most likely be named Vem Tabook), important people of the society (So the wealthy and most skilled), and other Kaliphlin lords. However, they are arrogance and hatred seems to lean more towards the Dwarves for their passion for mining and taking precious metals and minerals, they seem to do little trade with them. They also don't really like humans and elves due to their "bloody" past (I will create and unique story about that later on) but most of them want to make treaties with them. Some humans and elves feel the same way too. When people afflict with their affairs, like destroying their constructs, technology, mines, and just about anything else a part from killing mass numbers of these people, they send in their most elite soldiers, The Grustrag Three. They are hired to kill those who meddle with this empire. If the person who is instructed to be assassinated and is a high lord or important person to the Historica society, they leave them scarred and begging to be put down. Very little is known about them to outsiders other than that they are part of my society and were experimented on, tested for the advancements to the rest of the military. They are gruesome fighters, they will even kill other members of the society if they thirst for bloodshed. Some people also think they were genetically engineered somehow but no one knows, except of members in the High Council that belong to this society. Considering these are important people to my empire, they can't be killed if defeated, they will retreat if almost about to die (I will elaborate on this more in the future as to why they can't die). They also have names but that will also be revealed in the future too. So tell me, what do you guys think? It took quite a while to come up with these ideas and concepts so I really hope I can use them. And when I say they create technology that is quite advanced, don't think I'm talking about guns, missiles, and nothing like that. -

Wow that's awesome and it's very impressive, good job!

I like dull colors like grays and such for Medieval and Post-Apocalyptic builds.

Nice minifigs but should this be in the Minifig Customization Workshop since not all of the are Star Wars, like Wall-e?

I would use Photoshop but I just don't want to pay the monthly fee for a picture editing program I'm not going to use every day. -
Very nice builds but I do love that tower and the first picture a lot!
