  1. Dragonball Super: Broly- was a great movie. The fights were the usual amazing spectacle DBZ fans are used to seeing, but the attacks were bumped up thanks to the top notch animation of it all. I hope the success of this, and its predecessors, will bring more anime movies here on a more regular basis.
  2. In keeping with my “movie” buys...I ended up with a pretty good deal on eBay...both brand new for $135 free shipping 70815 Super Secret Police Dropship 70819 Bad Cop Car Chase Then days before... 76097 Lex Luthor Mech Takedown
  3. Yeah, I don’t think your hand goes inside the ship, you just hold it like a gun....a fist gun. I think the set looks great, and the function may be more fun, even for adults, than some are giving it credit for. The lack of minifigs is a bit disappointing for a set this size, but the amount of raptors is making up for it.
  4. It feels like you’re overestimating the worth of AFOL’s to the lifeline of LEGO. We aren’t their target audience, their target audience will always love cars, planes, police, fire, dollhouse play, and whatever movie is the latest & greatest. As to your point here, I do feel somewhat...pressured(by nobody but myself however)...to buy some small Superhero sets that aren’t particularly interesting, most notably76008 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown, for the Iron Man variant. It was only $13 so it wasn’t a big decision. Had it been a $50+ set that would be another story.
  5. Yessir. There was a very brief blink-and-you-miss-it Molten Man appearance & a decent look at Hydro Man.
  6. That was a great review! The breakdown & highlighting new parts/colors was cool(I didn’t realize we had so many colors of both the 1x1 pyramid & 1x1x2 snot brick!). Thanks for that.
  7. @Mylenium As I explained why I believe he’s acting like a child, which you both deleted from my quote...what I gather is he a fan of LEGO & has a store that also sells LEGO. Now that something has happened where his logo is in question, he says he’s going to sell, buy & review competitors. That sounds childish to me. I’m not concluding anything nor basing him entirely off of this. Im speaking to this one specific incident. Maybe he said that in frustration or anger, which is understandable...people say dumb things when angry. But unless he had the express permission of TLG to use their logo where he is benefiting from it monetarily, which I’m assuming he does from the YouTube channel, TLG will likely go after that to protect its brand. Any big company would very likely do the same. Edit...and now we know...well, more. Trying to trademark the logo for money was what perked the ears of TLG’s lawyers. That makes perfect sense.
  8. So, he has a bit of a tantrum & acts like a child? Doing the “I’ll show them!”by selling and/or reviewing other brands....really? What was TLG’s reasoning for going after his logo? I’d be interested to see their official email indicating why. If he didn’t have permission to use, or it’s too close to TLG’s brick design(it does look similar to Duplo bricks) & he is big enough, I can see why they went after it. They want to protect their brand & their logo being used by people.
  9. Looking at Brickset for 2019 themes, Licensed(including Brickheadz) only has two more than non licensed. I wouldn’t call that taking over. Same goes for shelf space where I am. There’s 4 big chain stores that I frequent, and it’s always been pretty equal. In what ways do you feel they’re going too far?
  10. Another fun update! It is fun seeing minifigs help out in the construction of a set. Your pictures really make your town seem bigger than it is. I’ve alwys enjoyed that about your layout.
  11. That’s all fine, because that’s not the “in your face” politics that is having a Supreme Court Justice in a movie like this. Being anti capitalist, feminist, being pro diversity...none of those have a side. Stereotypically, sure....but not in reality. Whereas having a very liberal Justice is.
  12. Oof yeah...just got done reading & seeing that picture. Politics plaguing even this...great. Drat.
  13. That.....doesn’t sound believable. I sincerely hope that isn’t the case either.
  14. Um...wow! This is great. That roof is amazing. As someone who doesn’t really care about interiors...yours blew me away. As a fan of both adventure types(but replace D&D with Warhammer 40K and we’re in business), I’d be a frequent customer for sure. And that dark orange hair/beard combo works really well.
  15. Nice little build. I really like the cherry tree & that window display looks delicious!
  16. I love both & they both have their hits & misses. For me, while I understand they sell, I’m really tired of the police/fire rotation in City sets. And the lack of variety in businesses. My city has a lot of pizza places...good thing the Ninja Turtles reside there. The latest big ticket City set is a very refreshing change however. But then there’s the Modulars, which more than make up for it. The old Creator houses were great...the newer ones, not so much. Kingdoms was a homerun. As were a lot of those “one & done” action themes like Pharaoh’s Quest, Alien Conquest, & Monster Fighters. Then with Licensed, I do enjoy the builds more often than not, but even then they aren’t always that great. Then they knock outs like Ultimate Bridge Battle or the Sanctum Santorum. And the entire range of the Batman Movie sets were fantastic. Star Wars, again understanding that they sell, is also getting me with the rotation. I would like to see more location sets instead of vehicles though. In the end I just want stuff for my tabletown.
  17. That did it’s job pretty well. I’m excited. At first when I saw Mysterio I was like “awww....” the the next clip I saw him I was like “Oooooooh!” Now I just want to see his minifig that we better be getting! I want that complete Sinister Six.
  18. Minifigure I went with President Business because I love the print & can easily use him in town. None of the accessories, aside from the one I voted for, aren’t too exciting to me. I went with the raptor. That 1x2 tile that Emmet has is nice too.
  19. I imagine they’re placing bets on sequels not living up to their predecessor schtick. I don’t see why that would be equated to being bad. It’s certainly going to be difficult to beat the wow factor associated with the first...but that’s because it was the first of its kind. I’m just as excited for this as I’ve been all the LEGO movies that have come before it.
  20. Ah good, a non stolen set review!
  21. Why couldn’t we have gotten those dual molded legs on Captain Marvel?! She would’ve been worlds better...
  22. This is ingenious. The pattern is fantastic, with a lovely finished product. Well done.
  23. Great review, it’s nice to get a good look at these sets. Any idea if it can be easily modded to be held together off the stand? If I’m fortunate enough to get it, I was envisioning it walking through town.
  24. A shame Emmet comes with that pack...I wonder why they didn’t mimic the Batman Movie one, it came with all exclusives. Bummer.
  25. Went on a bit of a binge with Ninjago Movie sets... 70609 Manta Ray Bomber 70610 Flying Jelly Sub-$13 on clearance at Walmart...Whoop! Whoop! 70616 Ice Tank
