REVIEW: 80014 Sandy's Speedboat
Vindicare replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh, I meant in the pros & cons list. I hadn’t gotten around ti watching your video at that time. I’m definitely happy to see them in a smaller set as it’s snot too likely I would make my way through my to buy list to end up buying the ship, as cool as it is. I would’ve liked more for that price, even though it has bigger than usual pieces & the bigfig.- 3 replies

So jealous! I did call the two local stores near me & neither have it yet. I sure hope I can make my way there when they come in, even if I can only buy prepackaged sets.

*gets refresh finger ready* Looks like a tab for S@H will have to always be open...but that does make sense. -

You forgot about poor Mo the Cat. I’m a bit on the fence with this one, because of the price, but I think the minifigures are going to persuade me. Even more now that you gave such a glowing review of the Spider Queen build.- 3 replies

LEGO Ideas Discussion

I’m not so sure the hype died, it sold out here in the States in 15 minutes. -
Yup. While they’re a bit exaggerated, especially the one, they fit their characters’ personalities well. I’d say her role in that scene is a bit more important. It’s a big step in the progress of her & Harry’s relationship. It’s a big moment where we see him falling for her more, therefore making her essential for the party, in my opinion.

Nice. I don’t quite have much, just scattered about both forearms.

Well, was hoping to make a trip tomorrow but it fell through. Ordered 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System.

As someone who has been repeatedly stabbed by this machine, you nailed it beautifully. Tires as the grip is a nice touch.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Looks Ike the usual for these big sets. Overall they’re decent sets...but a few things are pretty great. Love the stage & park areas. That little kiosk could be fun, but I can’t quite tell what it is(assumed ticket booth for the train). Burger joint is lackluster. City Hall is pretty cool though. And is that red box thing a soap boxes derby type car? Because it sure looks like one to me. -
Whew! I hit a few nervous retries as I was finishing up my order. Persistence paid off! Now, I wait.

What?! Skip Kingsley & Sprout? Kingsley is an important side character as part of the Order. Sprout is the last remaining Head that we needed. Not here. I think they’re fantastic. I love a good departure from a more normal minifig head(eyes open & smiley/sad/other). I’m with you. I love how they’re the same, but different. Just as they are in the movies. I still fail fail to understand why people continue & continue to go out of their way to bring up NoNo...what purpose does it have? All is being done is knocking the guy. Let it go...geez.

They could always shoehorn either character in a Hogwarts section in the future. They do like doing that. That was my first thought as well. Definitely excited to see him(and her), especially since we got two versions of the map this year. I wasn’t overly thrilled at first, then I took a better look at each minifigure individually. I’m more happy with them now. The prints are all great & accessories are fun. I can’t wait for the better pictures.

It’s also the most likely place we’d get his snake cane. Although The Riddler did come with a question mark topper in the LEGO Batman Movie sets...so who really knows. They also went nuts with that theme. 4193 The London Escape would like to have a word with you. The pub was even named, instead of just another building. That’s because too many people got themselves worked into a frenzy about it being the Community Center.

Heh, yeah. The usual trip a friend & I make involve two different stores in relatively close proximity. The drive takes us about 2 hours to get to the first, but two stores make it worth it. It would be three if we included SF, but parking there is horrible & the store is smaller, so we skip it.
-
Bummer indeed. These exclusive prints have been fun to track down. I called my stores(Cali)...to no avail. But I’m trying to keep track to see how close they’re getting, for my own amusement.

Ahh, that’s right. I actually glanced & saw that set on the shelf a Target this morning. Did your store(are you in the States by chance./where?) not have the recolored dachshund as well?

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, that would be the smart move...however I’m always, well for the length this theme has been back, dying to get the new HP stuff as soon as I can. But I may have to make an exception in this case. At least until(if) we get an official idea of how long they’ll be on shelves. -
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that pearl gold legs on upper right? Those are kinda rare(outside of Star Wars anyways).
-
Yep. I believe it was the same year they did the spider people.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That’s my worry as well. I’m trying to save money for the massive dollar amount HP is going to cost & I fear I may miss out on this last wave, notably the Castle & Fire Truck. There’s more of this theme I’d like to get, but time isn’t on my side here. I know I could always put off some HP purchases in favor of, but that’s my main theme right now. Decisions, decisions... -
70849 Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter -saved $10 on it at Target, I’ll take it!

Why is it ridiculous? Since when did we care about the ages on boxes? Whether it’s 9-14, 12+, 16+, or 18+...we know the set won’t suffer because of it. Box design I could understand for those who keep their boxes.

Why all the hate for Legends of Chima?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I loved the theme(and show) as well. The vehicles were all quite creative & the minifigs are fantastic. The huge array of factions was impressive. Sadly I missed out on a lot of the sets as I only bought most of the first wave. Other themes took priority. But I still enjoyed the other sets & do regret not getting at least some of them.
