Using this microphone to create a really compact 4-speed gearbox was a great idea! I would've never thought of that. I like it. With the smooth axle joint, isn't there a risk of failure when the torque in the gearbox is high?

[MOC] Ol'Tractor
Pluto_MkII replied to HorcikDesigns's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On my own tractor design I used a mechanical way to move the three point mounting device. I also included a power take-off and a trailer coupling at the back. Maybe you find any of this helpful for your own design. -

That is a cool looking tractor, I like it. Which tractor inspired you to build this? -
If you are searching for the set in the title: Only onethousand of them were made. But I don't know if there will be something new. When you search for this set-number, you'll directly find their shop-website.

This forklift looks really cool in combination with your colour choice. According to the tyres, this model must be huge.

That's a cool model, nice bodywork. I can't wait to see how you design the driver's cab.

[C-MODEL] 42009 Tow Truck
Pluto_MkII replied to OG_technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great tow truck, can't wait to see how you improve it. -
Thank you for the info, maybe I'll try it next time. Yes, your solution is great and simple, I like it. But it needs a small beam on the top to lift more than 500 g, otherwise, it'll fall apart. With this additional part you are able to lift around 1000 g. At the moment I am optimizing the building instructions. The model is completed and rendered.

Hi, after I discovered the Hyster 32-12, which TheItalianBrick is currently building, I thought I had to modify the Heavy Duty Forklift, which was originally created by Dalafik. The main objective for the adjustable fork rake was to use only parts from Set 42009, so everyone who build the "Heavy Duty Forklift" would have automatically the parts he would need for this modifikation. Another objective was to create it so simple, that it could easily replace the original fork rake made by Dalafik. Two mini linear actuators are used to adjust the fork rake. Here are some pictures for you: More pictures are in the album: Adjustable fork rake for MOC-2298: Heavy Duty Forklift At the moment I try to create building instructions with MLCAD.

[TC6] Monster Truck
Pluto_MkII replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the information, now it is clear to me why you are one stud offset to the centre of the cardan joint. Do you want to steer with a servo motor or with a m motor? I can't wait to see this monster truck in action. -
[TC6] Monster Truck
Pluto_MkII replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I am thinking exactly the same. I don't think it'll work well. Anyway, it'll harm the universal joint. It's nice to see those big tyres in a moc, they're perfect for a monster truck. Using a planetary gear hub at every wheel will reduce the torsion in the universal joint. I killed one of them by building a truck with those tyres and big lego rc-motors without planetary gear hubs. -
Oshkosh 10x10 PLS

That's a cool moc. I like the details you put in it, especially the window frames. Have you ever thought about using lego air tanks in combination with your autopump? It'll give you a small buffer of air. -
[MOC] IHC-Tractor
Pluto_MkII replied to Pluto_MkII's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks. Yes, most of the parts are old, studded parts. The panels are from the 8448 sports car. -
Hi guys, I like to present to you my recently built tractor. Its look is inspired by the old IHC tractors from 1971 to 1975 an has a few functions in it. It has a gearbox with four switching steps which is combined with a gearbox with two modes for driving on street/field. It is possible to open the bonnet, so you can see the three cylinder diesel-engine. Steering is also possible. You can use the steering wheel or the exhaust pipe. They turn at different angles: the exhaust pipe has a small rotation angle for better playability and the steering wheel has a much greater rotation angle for a realistic behavior. The oscillating front axle has an Ackermann-geometry. At the rear of the tractor is a power take-off shaft and a tow-bar. The power take-off shaft is powered by the rear wheels. But enough telling, take a look at the pictures. IHC-Schlepper (Album)

What a huge truck. How sturdy is the design? -

Wow, looking forward to see your truck, which is pulling this big trailer for your wheelloader. Great construction! -
I can understand you, but Lego focus mainly on kids. They have now their "Technic for men" section, but their main target is for kids. So it will be up to us to customize and individualize criticised functions. I like your LA-steering and I like the steering with racks, like its done on a Liebherr wheel loader I've seen here on the forum. But the servo steering isn't what I like, not for such a model.

But is this support necessary? Did you test it with the load of the target? -

The second one looks like it has more stiffness as the first one. I can't judge it from here. If the first one is stiff enough, I would take it, because it needs less parts than the second one and is a bit more compact than the second one. -
With some smaller models, which I don't have in my basebrick list, roundabout 22000 bricks.

Zero's workshop
Pluto_MkII replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, you built great models. I like the mine backhoe, because it has many technic compared to the room it takes. The Junebug looks great, too. I like those rims and the design with those green metallic plates. -
The main problem is, that there are not so many lego technic fans out there on youtube. Another problem: If you search after simple things, like "lego technic", you'll find videos with views >10000. And: People are "invisible" in the worldwide web. So they can troll, hate, dislike as much as they want. So you can't take all those negative comments seriously. Maybe try to make more advertising for your videos in other lego related forums.

Hello Eurobricks, my name is Michael
Pluto_MkII replied to Pluto_MkII's topic in Hello! My name is...
Oh yes, I like it very much. I have many technic models. The design isn't always at its best, but the functions are the thing I like. A few weeks ago, I disassembled my Silver Champion and the big Offroader from 200x to build Nathanael Kuipers Supercar. Great model!
