  1. I didn't mean official LEGO ones, I only said 'pressure release mechanism, could be a lego pneumatics compressed air cylinder, or rubber band, or spring powered
  2. :wall: :wall: Why so complicated? Try this! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/anton1678/Hosting/img_0857.mov
  3. Ohhh... that's smaller than I thought.
  4. Well in that case, just put an axle with u-joints spread across the top, thereby allowing you to make it AWD.
  5. That thing is awesome! But all those hatches everywhere? I don't quite get what the ones on the sides do, the ones with the gears at 1:15 Also adding a gun, even only a one-shot, would be really cool. I think a one-time pressure release mechanism, no reloading, would make it just that one bit cooler.
  6. My old mounting finally broke :( But I put new mounting on, and it isn't bending one bit. The axles on the outside are good,I pushed the beam up and it works all right. Erik: 24t gear is the steering wheel (see how the seat is behind it?) on one of the pictures, the one of the underside, you can see the steering axle is connected there The front is the worst looking part, I already shortened it once, still looks bad oh and here the 1st pic is the new mounting, 2nd is old photo-shopped onto desert background
  7. zblj already made a kite powered by his motors, it kind of flew, but fell when it reached the end of it's wire. We'll need a longer wire for that
  8. I'm going to make a concept for a 'safe' Lego helicopter part, I'll send it to TLG or something, hopefully they can commission some sort of limited-edition flight kit
  9. Do the ered sports car, Lancia stratos. You can but the motor and batteries in the back, leaving space for steering in the front, and interior in the middle
  10. Yes, I am trying to improve that, it falls off every time I try to use the pull-back That front part where they are mounted is hard to make better because it is actually the control column that houses the steering wheel I will have it done by tomorrow, even if I have to rebuild the whole thing.
  11. Here are the photos: LDD in progress, for anyone who needs it. Piece count is 179, but it's still probably the biggest mini model in the challenge. This is only a prototype, suggestions still needed just in case
  12. I would say gear it down 1:3 or 1:4, that is good for pulling weights. The XL motors will be able to give you enough speed with that, but don't expect it to be fast. As Zblj said, AWD is better that RWD,so if you can, power all the axles.
  13. I like it, though making seats for minifigures on the 'seats' would make it awesome, increasing the playability factor by 100%. Although it is creative, Technic sets don't usually include fairground rides If you have one of these you could make it go up and down for the minifigs to get on it
  14. Has to come with a bin, just has to. How else are you supposed to play with it?
  15. The car could be used in a LEGO town, so why not?
  16. Maybe the rotor could be in a cage, like on a fan That claim is based on the miscalculations of a French physicist, who did not realise that a bumblebee twists it's wings while they go up, like oars
  17. I wasn't careful and resized the vertical images into horizontal images, so you can see what happened.
  18. I have finally made a prototype design! Pictures coming soon...
  19. Though it was shaky, on the 'increased to 30 volts' you could see unbalanced upward flight
  20. Good idea, I was trying to do that, but now that I sketched it out and gathered pieces, it's much easier
  21. A while ago I made the 8110 Unimog, and it has an awesome base for cars. I made a few modifications to make it better for power functions, and stripped it down so it drove faster. I was mainly doing Mindstorms back then, and I knew that to get anywhere, you have to start by making your models look good. I'm really terrible at that but this time I managed. I put a lot of cool features in there, tow cable, lights, antennae, wing mirrors, steering wheel, etc. I made a 'few' pictures, and now that I got a Brickshelf account I started putting stuff on there. I rediscovered this model, and now I feel is the time to finally post the pictures. Edit: Jim said my images are too big , here are the ones Some of them were vertical and I forgot to rotate, so they got squashed It's 1024x768 now, every image
  22. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should do the aesthetics?
  23. Here is the LDD I had it in real before but it broke and I haven't got the tie to make it again. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/anton1678/LEGO/car.lxf Here is the photo, it is a good sports car, and I made it out of the bricks in 6743.
  24. Cool, I didn't know all those pieces could be officially in green
