Would have been nice to see the Concorde get in, but I won't turn down a set that depicts an iconic sub and the greatest male pop band in the world. And Saturn V is amazing. Would fit well with the Creator Expert Space Shuttle. I'm rather surprised no one has tried to pitch an entry that depicts Tom Kristensen and the Audi R10 TDI that he drove to victory with Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello in the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Maybe he's not as great a Danish hero as I thought he was? And why TLG themselves haven't done that before or now is somewhat baffling.

LDD 4.3.9 Update Released
XAxles replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Talk about a game-changer. This is one gigantic update. New car parts, and much-awaited small parts. LDD is awesome again. -
I don't want to dig so far into this thread, but I do believe I said that I feel the Caterham will get through. It did! I am so happy for Car Greatrix. You know, that Land Cruiser can be spruced up with real working 4WD and low-range transmission.
-
Caterham makes a Lotus Seven, basically, for almost 50 years. The had an F1 team, but forget it, because their renditions of the Seven are what put them on the map in the world of performance cars. The original idea, made by Carl Greatrix, is the more "ordinary" Super Seven, although I wouldn't be surprised if TLG will make the giant-slaying Superlight R500 or the hottest Caterham 7 today, the 620R, which he also built (here and here). As for the announcement... aw yiss! I had a good feeling back in the main Ideas thread that the Caterham will pass, and it did pass! Now for the designers to tackle the challenge of working steering...

The Geneva Auto Show is happening right now, and unbelievably I have yet to see news of the set. I guess my prediction of the set showing up at the event is up in smoke. -
How about you hustle a friend with Photoshop skills and get a scanner?
-
That's alright. But my exaggerated line still stands.
-
That was only the second time I did it, or as far as I can remember it.
-
400 trillion times this. The mechanic to accelerate the particle alone will be something that's quite new to anyone who buys LEGO, and can be easily replicated to be used in other applications, like slingshots.Also... you guys complain that there's been way too much licensed set ideas. Now you're complaining about this kind of set idea. JUST WHAT'S IT GONNA TAKE? WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT?! You mention what you want and think will be a successful Ideas set, then I'll go build it and present it to the site. Theme, piece count, build style, System/Technic mix, plus other things to consider.

Reiterating that "scan the stickers, recolor in Photoshop, print as many as you can" phrase here.
-
So the Ford doesn't do the boingy-boingy?
-
The Maze set is getting a bit too much grief back on Brickset. For shame, I don't think they actually see past the piece count and price.
-
It's a domestic release (France), though if it gets around they can take it worldwide afterward.
-
This. All this. Seriously, why hasn't this become a thing?

The title: Playmobil: Robbers, Thieves & Rebels The film is projected at $75 million, and the director will be Lino di Salvo, head of animation for the film Frozen, as an ON Entertainment production to be released in France. While the title is pretty self-explanatory, I'm not sure how they're gonna execute it, especially with descriptors of bad guys on the title. Caper story, most probably, but how can they pull it off? This is a man who knows his Porsches. -
Manatees. I am beyond gobsmacked. The selling points, for me, were the rooms. They're packed with all kinds of good stuff, are charming, and add excellent vignetting and story value. The Simpsons/Big Bang Theory mix is a surprisingly-inspired touch. . . . I give this      /10

I don't know about anyone, but... wouldn't printed parts actually reduce the usability of the parts, because it would look gaudy when used on another build? Fact is, if the camo became printed, wouldn't it look pretty darn strange when you decide to use the parts to build another model? The sticker sheet is separate from the parts bag. One can simply decide whether or not they want to use it. And it's not like the actual car would have so many stickers both inside and out--this is the road-going 911 GT3 RS. Disdain for stickers is understandable, but I also do think that certain prints will limit use. If all the graphics on the race cars depicted in the Speed Champions theme were printed, they wouldn't go very far in terms of use. -
That... looks darn good. Hubs, too.

Wait a sec. All this talk about controllers, and we haven't even known just how heavy the model can get. If it's RC, then it better have damn powerful motors if speed is a priority. -
Whoa. I never thought I'll say this, but... the cockpit on the big, blue plane is amazing! Aurgh, mainstream media. They've gone way over the line.
-
I've read too much soccer player news to know where this is going...
-
And... my brain just blew up.

That Technic Porsche, along with the rest of Speed Champs Wave 2, may get revealed at the Geneva Auto Show.
