[LDD] UCS Star Wars/Star Tours Starspeeder 3000
GuyDudeMan27 replied to Risch33's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks nice! The back though... I can't really see it well, but I know that the stacked plates on top of the roof don't look very good. I'm pretty sure it can all be replaced with slopes. Otherwise, looks great! -
It's really just guess work. If you look at your recent posts you can balance out how many are where.

She's a beauty! The LDD file can't do this thing justice. The size is absolutely perfect! The Snot wings are exactly what I could ever want. Is she 100% done? I think I see some unfinished parts. The heat sink is so amazing, but I was wondering about the middle section of it. That exposed stud will be covered, right? Cause the middle section looks a bit exposed. And one thing about the design of the actual snowspeeder. Does it have landing gear? All the TLG versions just sit on the bottom. I see yours has a flat bottom, but it looks like it sits forward. Is there anything to be done about that? Really, I think that you've made the snowspeeder more beautiful than the actual one And that isn't bad. I'm really excited to take a crack at building this! And whenever you get a chance, I'd love the updated LFX. (also, 600th post! )

I'm down with pics now. I'll definitely have to try to see if I can put most of it together from spares. If I need to make one order around $20 I think I'll be fine.

I AM!!!! Everything looks great so far. I really wanna build it now, funds permitting. Are a lot of the parts common? I could probably scrape some of it together from spare parts if so.

It looks very nice! I'm so excited to see the final result! Also, what was the total cost for this? I wanna try my hand at building this at some point.

I didn't realize how much I like the heat sink! It looks fantastic! I'm also really digging the size. I like me a meaty ship. And the nose looks really slick. Keep the updates coming!

Looks great! I love how smooth you decided to make it. I can't tell in the pictures, but are the undersides of the wing plated? I remember seeing a Mod that used those, and I thought it looked great. I also really love some of the shaping you did, specifically around the engines. It elevates the model to a new dimension for me. I also really like the idea of getting rid of the cockpit mold, and replacing it with a brick built version. I could probably go on and make another huge paragraph pointing out things I like, but I think this is enough. Overall, just a great job!

Looks great! The only problem I see is that it's a bit too much like a normal X-Wing. I understand the challenges you would face at this scale, which really make that happen. The front wings should have an angle, but again, size limitations. Could you post some pics of other angles? And especially the wings closed. For a first Moc here, this is great! It'd be really cool to make a tie to compliment it!
-
With a regular plate you can attach it to other plates. And it looks a bit smoother overall. If it were a normal plate you could attach it to a larger plate and build more around it.
-
I really like those guns! I made 30 or so awhile ago but I never got around to taking pictures of them. Maybe now I can hammer out a few more designs and then take some pics. So, thanks for the inspiration!

Is this gonna be UCS size? If so, I wish you luck. It looks really good as is, but one thing I might suggest is to mess around and try to have the studs face up instead of down. There's a one plate solution so that within a single brick you have studs facing both directions. I would recommend that so you have a smooth bottom, and then a solid building platform. Anyways, happy building!

Looks great! Also, the photography is great! And the frame? Great! The stability? Great! Getting more parts? Great! The final product? It'll be great!

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
GuyDudeMan27 replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I prefer working for free. I wouldn't want to withhold anyone from this model. And thank you guys so much for understanding! I'll have it ready as soon as I can. -

I feel bad for not working on this more. The LDD file is about half done, but I've been procrastinating and putting it off. I have a few other projects that I need to finish first, but then I can direct my attention towards it. I hope you guys can wait about a week for it! -

I think it's because the Ties are so iconic, and it's hard to come by nowadays. I bought 3 when they were out, and converted one into a tie interceptor. -
I've been watching the progress of this, and I really love it! The Idea of making an almost pointless scene into something this great is such a novel concept. I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Interesting. I could imagine TLG doing the exact same thing for BB-8. It'd be a pain to assemble a bunch of them in he came in multiple sets though.

Bricklinked UCS Millennium Falcon - MODded heavily

It is. Modding one can do wonders. I wanna BL one myself but I don't make the time or money. -
For two transports mashed together, This is really good! I really like the size of the build, and how much bulkier it is. I can't wait to see where else you want to take it!

I did a story on my Flickr using the latter, and I liked it. I couldn't really build the former cause of part limitations and the environment I was portraying. My story seemed to go over pretty well with the community there. I think the former is better suited for actually making brick films. And I was far from alone in using the latter. I would have a vignette displaying part of the story, and then a paragraph below it telling the story. Then again mine was in log entries which lend a bit better to that style. I hope this'll help you in deciding.
-
Now I can't wait to see it! I've toyed with a T-70 for a few hours in LDD and real bricks but I never got anywhere.
-
Quite the response there Personally, I like the lars design implemented here. Its not just lifting the same design, you had to adapt it to the Snot wings. As for the heatsink, I see where the issues would occur. I know its not an exact lift of the Larry Lars design, but it still looks uninspired, considering how creative you have shown to be. There wouldn't be anything else that would really work anyway. I think a huge issue with Lego and Snowspeeders is the fact that they are so dirty, while legos are clean. I personally like black, but wait until you see in real bricks, as it may look a bit different. Conceptually, the roof is fine, I just don't like it personally. And I would rate this at least a 9/10. Its gotten that good. I can't wait now until yours is done!
