There's a level of simplicity present in this model that is just amazing. There is a perfect balance present of studs and tiles, and it gives the ship just a great aesthetic, and makes you want to keep looking at it. The balance of light and dark grey is perfect, and they make the patterns of the ship look perfect. The greebles as well are very subtle, but the look great and tie into the overall model perfectly. Likewise, the subtly uses of Snot have the same effect, and don't over complicate the model. I'm not even sure why, but this is one of my favorite models from you Also, are you really that bored to the point of just building stuff for the heck of it? Still, this is a great model, and it definitely blows the TLG version out of the water

I used to be the primary poster here, but I've let myself fall behind With all the new updates, your Snowspeeder has gone from ok, to absolutely amazing! One thing that's been nagging at me is how much this has transformed from totally original to kinda a rehash of Larry Lars' version. It still looks amazing, don't get me wrong, but I think you could depend of his version a little less. The heatsink is probably the hardest part of a snowspeeder build, and your previous solution looked fantastic (but I would have liked it in black), and the main force behind it was that it was original. The Lars nose works perfectly, and the transition from Snot to plates up there looks great. The story of the rear gun is hilarious I personally like the version as of 6/23 (The one at the top of the first page), as it looks nice and sophisticated. I'm mad I didn't suggest the 1x2 grill slope earlier, as that was nagging at me too. It honestly looks perfect in the overall design. In all honestly, I think that the only glaring issue right now is the rear gun and heatsink. Personally, I would just revert to some of the previous versions I mentioned and update them for a final time. I'm gonna contradict myself here and also say that something about the roof rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's because it hasn't changed at all since the beginning, but it just looks a tad too simple, although making it sophisticated would be quite the challenge. Having converted LDD models to real bricks before, I wouldn't worry too much about having everything perfect. When building you just learn what goes where and how certain things will work out. After seeing this in real bricks, I'll need to decide which version I like best, yours or Lars. I'm leaning towards one already I can't wait to see where this build goes!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
GuyDudeMan27 replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a tall order. There isn't really any rule to use, but essentially just use common sense to try to figure it out. For example the X-Wings aren't huge, and are a single person ship. All of them are pretty close to minifig scale. Anything similarly sized is most likely minifig scale. Something like the Falcon, however, is not minifig scale, as it is known to be huge. AT-AT's and stuff like that are in a similar boat. Really almost every fighter is close to minifig scale, and large ships aren't. I could make a list at this point but I'm too lazy I hope this helps! -
Ah ok. Very simple and effective. Still a great job!

Looks very nice! The area in front of the cockpit looks very sophisticated compared the the TLG solutions. The action right under the cockpit looks very nice too. I assume the bottom is nothing special? I'd like to try to make a better version than TLG could.

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
GuyDudeMan27 replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To make it short, it's quite the ordeal. I'll keep working on it for now. -
Not bad for a first Moc! The whole ships is very Z-95 esque, which isn't a bad thing. The colors are a bit bright for a new republic ship, however. Otherwise, it looks very much like something TLG might release, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Keep up the great work!

(MOC) StarCobra-Class Assault Fighter (custom fighter)
GuyDudeMan27 replied to tibland2's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks pretty good! I would have gone all out with snot, but that's just cause I'm crazy. For what it is, it's really good. Does it have a fleshed out cockpit? -
[MOC] Anakin's Jedi Interceptor with Hyperspace Ring
GuyDudeMan27 replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Essentially, yes. Just check back to this topic after a while. Or, what Swan Dutchman could do is post the download links to the files directly. All you do is copy the files link address and put it into a post. Then you should be able to download it without going through BrickShelf. -

I'm working on that right now. I'll have it done maybe later today and then I'll post everything. -

TLG's prices in general have been high as of late. You also have to take into account the price per piece ratio. Usually it's around .10, so it should be around 27 dollars. That could be rounded up to 30. These are USD prices, mind you, and where you live may also account for a more expensive product. -
The bubble is too big for a system scale ship. The current solution is just fine for me, and beyond that PT won't get much spotlight with episode VIII coming out.

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
GuyDudeMan27 replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think I'll give it a crack in LDD this weekend. That'd also make it all easier to get the parts. I'm sure with about 5 hours of trial and error I could get a somewhat working file. -

I really wanna build this now. Could you post one more picture of the overall ship? Also how easy do you think this would be to make in LDD? I might wanna try that first. -
You'd need to go theough a computer no matter what. I would suggest a Flickr account so that the pictures are easy to get from your phone to computer. From there you just need to copy the BBcode (found in the share menu) of the picture from Flickr, and paste it right into your text. I hope this makes it easier for you, and I'm looking forward to the pictures as well.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
GuyDudeMan27 replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The sith infiltrator, while better than the prelims, is still a failure in my book. Just less of a failure. The front irks me. It's too squared off. Otherwise is just mediocre. Wings, meh. Should be rounder. Speeder, meh. Weird colors. Minifigs, meh. The poncho is nice but that's about it. This was a pass even before the prelims. -

I figured that much, but why would they pose it like that? It just looks weird, and would really never sit like that naturally. -

Has anyone noticed how weird the viewable Tyderium looks? The wings are very strange. I'm honestly not sure about the other shuttle thing. It would be a cool little Easter egg, but I want to say it's just a coincidence. -

GuyDudeMan27 replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The new X-Wing is much more complex that the OT one. The wing mechanism must be at least 100 pieces. The TIE has probably had a complete overhaul on the body, since the last one wasn't very screen accurate. -
Looks great! Your Hoth scene is perfect. Can't wait to see your big build!

I love how it flits flush. One of my favorite parts is the laser generator, before and after. Keep up the great work!

I would try to use the original. Maybe you could paint over the yellow or something. Otherwise there aren't many alternatives I can think of.

Officially, they release June 1st. It seems a lot of places are stocking them early though.
