Lego Exhibition Turntable
OneMoreRobot replied to oracid's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice & practical - what are the part numbers for the wheels & tyres used on the improved version? -
Balls should be available from Lego soon as two sets 10686 (x45 Orange soccer ball) & Lego ideas - Tilting Ball Maze (unknown - shown with a black/white soccer ball) are in or coming to production, so the balls should be back so hold on a little longer, if you can. Thats called 'Catenary Sag' and it is required for plastic chain to work.

Thanks Blakbird, Rebricker & Akiyuki, great work. Never thought I would build one of these contraptions - now I'm halfway complete and totally into it. Enqueued has been my word of the week since reading the review, couldn't find it on the Urban Dictionary, however, Mabstinent is now my new word of the week! Love your work, all the best OMR

Hi all, I had an idea to build this artwork for my wife as a present since she & her siblings traveled around in a T1 as a family, anyways my wife did not want it however I finished it all the same. Contains several rare parts, especially green, has been professionally framed using museum quality glass. I exhibited it at the recent Sydney Brick Show (Australia) with a great response, thousands of photos taken of it with most comments saying it is 'Cool'. The number plates are engraved along with the VW emblems (chrome plated then engraved) plus chrome plated tiles under the headlights & indicators - thanks to Auri @ Chrome Block City. Thanks to Andy Warhol for the inspiration. Thanks for looking - OMR PS - this is my first (and possibly only) artwork - I'm an Engineer who builds in Technic. :-) VW.artwork.5 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr VW.artwork.2 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr VW.artwork.3 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr VW.artwork.4 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr

Photo as requested; I think Auri did an excellent job & the final look is impressive, Auri always accepts my challenges and comes up with the goods, we also tried to engrave a single 2x4 tile and engrave the grill effect, however the four grills as per below looked better. IMG_1400 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr FJ40.7 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr I added trans clear round tiles for headlights with chrome silver round plates underneath for realistic effect.

Hi RM8, thought I would share my version of your fantastic model - thanks for posting the instructions. Auri from Chrome Block City supplied some cool Titanium wheel rims - these look great on this model. Auri also engraved the 4 x 1x2 black grill mod tiles with Toyota - they also look great. I will order some clear round tiles for the headlights soon. I displayed it at the Sydney Brick Show (Australia) last weekend and it was a very popular model. Just wanted to share my version of this model. I kept to the original colours however I opted to use SBricks (Two) for the control rather than PFIR. The model works perfectly using SBrick, I made a simple interface that controls all functions including the freefall of both winches. This was displayed & demonstrated last weekend at the Sydney Brick Show (Australia) and was a big hit with LEGO Technic fans. Thought I would share my built of this great model. I opted to use 3 x SBricks for the control of all functions (I eliminated the two PF switches used to control lighting & incorporated with SBrick), Note: the clean exterior where the IR receivers are normally positioned. This has been the most complex build I have undertaken plus fitting SBricks required several partial tear-downs & rebuilds to get right. Now that it is completed I am 100% satisfied & proud of this build. It was shown publicly for the first time last weekend at the Sydney Brick Show (Australia) & received a wonderful reception from those who are Technic fans. Thanks Madoca & Jurgen, I started building mine using Madoca's photo instructions & completed with Jurgens instructions - both excellent. I used chrome rims from Chrome Block City & fitted a Tan interior - otherwise stock. Cheers - OneMoreRobot Corvette.2 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr Corvette.4 by OneMoreRobot_NZ, on Flickr

Serious piracy problem and its consequences
OneMoreRobot replied to Sariel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sariel , thanks for all your hard work, passion and dedication, sounds like a holiday on a tropical beach is needed. I Subscribe to the YouTube and view each one, my particular favourite are the new release reviews, you do TLG a considerable service with these highly crafted films. I Can assure you several viewings and many pauses are required to absorb the invaluable information. For the comments I would recommend not deleting the critical ones and show the world you have a thick skin or turn comments off, save the time & energy for more constructive endeavours. I purchased the iTunes version of your first book then bought the hard copy, not a week passes that I don't reference back to it. I Preordered the second book months before release, couldn't wait to read it, I couldn't imagine experiencing the quality of this publication in a digital format. For this content I feel the digital version is less necessary. For Australia order books via Amaz#n & the postage is either free or minimal (and quick). Finally, since taking up lego as a hobby, my skill sets have expanded far beyond snapping bricks together. Photography & photo editing to showcase my passion, you're tutorial on GIMP has been invaluable, hopefully one day a tutorial on decal creation shall be produced. Keep the passion & fu#k the pirates. -
