  1. The fact is that LEGO has limits on its production capacity. If It simply let people order as many Castles as they want and then sold 50k of them, what other set(s) do they make less of to make room for all of those castles? And what do they tell retailers who now can't get as much of whatever set(s) LEGO is making less of as they would have?
  2. You could do the chef from Ratatouille. Or the emotion characters from Inside Out. Or Moana in minifig (as opposed to minidoll) form. Or more TRON characters. Or the pilot from Tail Spin. Or Bonkers Bobcat. Or even Phineas and Ferb (they seem to be pretty popular and you have room for both the evil mad scientist and Perry the Platypus as well)
  3. How many of these licensed Ideas projects get to 10k because of people out there who like whatever the license is but where those same people wouldn't buy the set if it was actually made.
  4. I think the best hope for buildings from Ideas is for things that are totally different to what LEGO is producing or might produce. Like the Old Fishing Store and the Blacksmith.
  5. This has no chance of being approved IMO. If nothing else, its not a brand that's known worldwide (here in Australia GameStop doesn't even exist with their Australian arm being known as EB Games). Not to mention that the chain isn't exactly known for having the best reputation these days. And when was the last time LEGO did a set based on a store of a real world brand?
  6. It would be cool to see a modular (or any other set) in a style like Raygun Gothic/Googie. Or Brutalist. Both are styles that (AFAIK) we have never seen in any LEGO set before and both are interesting styles (although Raygun Gothic/Googie would probably be more appealing to a broader audience than Brutalist) Anyone know if the new Daily Bugle set fits into a particular architectural style?
  7. I think the biggest problem was simply that they allowed people to order no less than 5 of each set. If they had limited it to 1 per customer then maybe it wouldn't have sold out so fast or lead to so many complaints.
  8. You can get other parts from Series 21 as well (including the beekeeper hat) If you go to https://brickset.com/sets/71029-0/LEGO-Minifigures-Series-21-{Random-bag} and click "parts" every part that's shown there (all 50 of them) shows up for me with a price (although a bunch are out of stock)
  9. Day one purchase for me for sure.
  10. Has anyone been able to order (or tried to order via phone or something) any of the musical instruments from the second wave of Vidiyo? Specifically, the black guitar and axe shaped guitar from the new boombox? (I think those are the only 2 musical instruments that are actually new molds/prints in this wave)
  11. Teaser is up for the Seinfeld set. Day one purchase assuming circumstances (funds and virus restrictions) permit.
  12. A couple things from Vidiyo are available for sale online that I didn't expect to be available. Pink pom-poms from the cheerleader Grey underwater mask thing and purple helmet from the ninja guy Blue cowboy hat from the cowboy Magenta hair from the genie Lime green maracas from the llama Red wings from the dragon Tutu and hair from the singer in the castle Hair from the singer in the car Tails from the singer and keytar player in the set with the big unicorn head Hair from the violin player in the pirate ship I added the maracas (since I wont be buying the Llama set) and the pom-poms (since I just bought 12 of the blind boxes, didn't get the cheerleader and don't plan to spend even more money in the hope I get the 3 I still don't own instead of more copies of the 9 I already own) to my B&P list (and will likely order a pair of each in my next order when that happens)
  13. The candelabra piece was created for Lumiere in the newest Beauty and the Beast set and has then been re-used in a Harry Potter set and now a Spider-Man set.
  14. Local retail store here in Australia has put the first wave of the clear boxes and the first wave of blind boxes on clearance (~60% off on the clear boxes and 50% off on the blind boxes). Grabbed the Pirate and Mermaid beat boxes (at that price its worth it just for parts) and then grabbed what looked to be a full row of the blind boxes. Ended up with 2 extra cowboys and 1 extra rabbit instead of the cheerleader, ninja guy and ghost. Wouldn't mind the cheerleader and maybe the ninja guy but its not worth continuing to spend money (no matter how cheap they get) on the random chance that I end up with the ones I don't have (and the asking price on BL for those figs is too high for the parts I want from them)
  15. I suspect LEGO will reject the Snow White cottage on the grounds that its from an IP they are already producing sets from (Disney Princess)
  16. Its probably missing from the catalog because its a retailer exclusive in your country. LEGO certainly does that in Australia...
  17. ~$20 for a full set of letter typewriter keys here in Australia. Not that bad actually and could be worth snagging for a project I thought of (LEGO Enigma Cypher Machine model)
  18. The white baseball cap (new color for the part) and printed 1 x 2 stripe tile from the mini shoe are available for sale. The blue torso piece from that set (and the printed parts from the big shoe as well as the shoelaces from the big shoe) are showing up as "no results". All the various trans-blue parts from the big Ice Castle are available for sale by the look of it. From the Monkie Kid tank all the minifig parts are available (4x torsos, 4x legs, 3x heads, pig molded head, panda mask, chef hat, red scarf, roller skates, 3x hair) along with the bowl, red pitchfork, 1x1 egg tile, 2x2 egg noodles tile, 1x2 printed clear tile and what seems to be all the pink bits (including the printed 1 x 1 plate and the 6-stud-shooter) From the bone demon, looks like the glow-in-the-dark parts are available, as are the minifig parts (4x torso, 2x legs, dress slope, 5x heads, mask, 3x hair, purple shoulder pads). Can't seem to find the ghost legs, ghost hood, gold shoulder pads or headphones though. (not showing up in the inventory at all) EDIT: The new color hourglass part is also available (the one with tan sand color)
  19. Can anyone suggest which fig various would be the best if I wanted to re-create the various heroes in the "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" cartoon series?
  20. Elephant parts: 6270106 short elephant tusk 6110023 long elephant tusk 6340167 elephant body 6341542 elephant head 6341543 baby elephant 6346331 elephant trunk
  21. The set I am most excited for is the Seinfeld set.
  22. I think the rays from last years divers sets are better looking for normal use than the Ninjago ones.
  23. The soccer set is not a hint to anything City, its just the winner of the next Ideas contest AFAIK;.
  24. Anyone from Australia got any tips on the best way to order (including parts that are out of stock online but can be ordered if you call) in a way that minimizes the shipping costs?
  25. I wish they would do more Ideas sets at the cheaper end of the spectrum like the Tron set or the Research Institute or the Women of NASA or the Mars Rover instead of so many big expensive sets like the piano and the typewriter and Barracuda Bay.
