I suspect re-submitting a project that got to review and was rejected wont help since the reasons it was rejected at review likely still apply.

FYI, it appears that the Slave 1 has hit some MYER stores if you want one. Also it seems like MYER corporate have introduced (reports from a few stores anyway) a first-in-best-dressed arrangement on the big stuff (no more putting big things on hold) and a limit of 2 per customer. That should help stop the scalpers grabbing all the stock hopefully. (it will at least make it harder) Certainly no more "we have 15 of set xyz but all of them are on hold" BS... -

Saw reports on other forums about the Bike Shop & Cafe prices. Even if your store isn't showing a clearance price, scan it with the price scanner anyway to be sure :) -

LEGO Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion
jonwil replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wonder how many people will be buying the Dimensions add-on packs just for the physical parts and not buying the game or caring about the video game stuff. If the rumors I heard somewhere are true and we get something Ghostbusters in this line (slimer maybe) then I for one will be interested. The BTTF set with the hoverboard and that red guitar (much more useful color for that piece than the light aqua one from Friends) is also worth a look So far (ignoring the base and figure bases) the new parts I see in this line are: The printed/stickered parts on the portal Printed part Wyldstyle is holding What looks like new parts in I think Medium Blue (or something similar) like that a-frame piece Not sure if Batman has a new torso or not The hoverboard obviously (very surprised they got that given that I heard Mattel has some rights to it because it had a Mattel logo on it in the movies) The red guitar The Wizard of Oz Witch figure Blue fez on the flying monkey Brown 2 x 2 round tile with stud in one of the LOTR sets. Has anyone else spotted anything new to this line?- 527 replies

Yeah Marvel can't happen because Marvel figures are already in Disney Infinity :)

If they can get Back to the Future (something that until now was only the single Ideas set) for LEGO Dimensions then Doctor Who ay be possible too (assuming they can get rights)

MYER Carindale has a cargo train and some Mindstorms if anyone wants one while the sale is on. Target has some pirate ships and the big orange Technic snowmobile. David Jones has the Orange snowmile and also the big green race car... I think its safe to say at this point that there isnt a single Detective's Office left anywhere in the entire state of QLD, probably the entire country. No doiubt there will be another drop in the near future :) -

Toys R Us Garden City has a few simpsons houses in stock. MYER has an Opera House, a Sea Cow and a pair of Ectos. Big W has the Agents Truck in the drop zone with a $80 price tag (a bargain for that set even as a parts pack IMO) -

Its not about the fact that someone is selling cheap toys (there are 1000s of options for people who just want cheap toys, including those who want cheap construction toys) Its the fact that someone is profiting from a copyright violation, something I find disgusting no matter how its done. I dont know how this works but I cant imagine the owners/managers of Robina Town Centre would be happy to have a vendor selling bootleg LEGO in their centre. It cant hurt to let them know about it somehow, worst thing that can happen is that they ignore it or say they dont care (although if I was a retail landlord I would most definatly care if a vendor in my centre was selling something that was illegal which these figures most definatly are) -
Anyone want to speculate which of the projects for the next review batch have a chance of being approved and which ones wont be approved and why?

I know the NSW office of fair trading deals with counterfeit goods, if I can find the right agency in QLD (not sure if its QLD fair trading or some other agency) I am seriously considering reporting the guy. People who profit from copyright violation disgust me. -

MYER Pacific Fair has a Simpsons House and a Sea Cow. I also saw a bunch of technic sets including an orange snowmobile, quad bike and some sort of drag race type car I didn't recognize. Oh and some sort of big green racing car. MYER Robina has a Simpsons House, SSS! and at least one Cargo Train (for those who missed out on one at Big W). Signage in store at MYER spotted for a 3-for-2 sale until Sunday. (no it doesn't stack with the 20% off) No signs anywhere of any modulars. Also spotted an SSS! at Target Helensvale. Nothing in the drop zone at Big W Robina. I did however see one other thing at Robina that really disgusted me. That thing was a stall right there in the middle of the mall selling bootleg LEGO product. Everything from Ninja Turtles to Simpsons to Super Heroes spotted. And yes people (who probably didn't know any better or know that they were buying counterfeit products) It doesn't matter if the counterfeiters are making a product LEGO isn't currently making like the Thing big-fig I saw, its still a violation of the copyright of both LEGO and the company who owns the character they are ripping off and its still illegal. People who derive profit by intentionally violating the copyright of other companies (whether that be a bootleg LEGO figure or a hardware device using open source software and not complying with the license or whatever else) really make me sick. I see stories indicating that the NSW office of fair trading takes action on counterfeit goods, pitty I cant find any body in QLD that does the same (otherwise I would report these people to that body) -
The original Ideas submission shows a Dalek that to me looks perfectly fine for LEGO to make... Or is there something wrong with it that I am not seeing?
-
Nope, we wont, LEGO have said before that they will NOT make any new molds for an Ideas project due to the high cost. Minecraft got new molds long after it went from being an Ideas project to being a full-fledged license.
-
It might be that the new hairpiece was created for a set due to be released later in the year (the Star Wars Episode 7 sets seem most likely given that they are pretty much the only 2015 sets we dont have any real info on at this point) which means a new mold has been created and its cost "booked" to the relavent product team (or however LEGO does it with these things). But just because it was created for one product team doesn't necessarily mean other product designers can't use the part for their own products. Take for example the base plate thing with the 1 row of studs used for the CMFs. This part exists in light bley in the Ecto-1, the AT-AT and several 2015 sets. It is almost certain that the decision to put the part into production was made by the Star Wars team designing the AT-AT and not the ideas team designing the Ecto-1. The same could have happened here where the hair in question was created for a different set and is therefore on the list of "in production": parts that the Ideas team can pick from and use.
-
I seriously doubt that this will be more than a one-off set. Even if it does later turn into a theme, I can gaurantee you that there will NOT be ANY new molds in whatever the first set (the one matching the Ideas project) ends up being.

You couldn't make the blue P1 even ignoring the stickers and canopy, the wheel arches dont exist in blue (other than the ones on that blue P1 and whatever LEGO has in its labs)

So DISGUSTED at all the scalpers snagging all the good LEGO. Heard a report from someone on another forum that not only was a scalper at Brisbane CBD allowed to buy 2 full stock cages of product (including all the good stuff, modulars, Simpsons houses etc) but a MYER staff member gave this person an additional 20% on top of the 20% sale price. Disgusting. If you don't like this, go to the MYER Facebook page and "like" the posts people have made about it. Use the power of social media to shame MYER into taking action (Giving an additional 20% off on top of the 20% sale is almost certainly NOT something that floor staff, even department managers, are authorized to do by head office) -

Neither MYER nor Big W at Logan Hyperdome had any sets worth buying (no indication that MYER ever had any Minis or Modulars). However, Big W Browns Plains did have 2 of the Agents big rig trucks (on the normal LEGO shelves but with a Drop Zone price tag attached) if anyone happens to be looking for some. -
I think the McLaren is the best of the lot although both Ferrari's aren't too bad either.

Both MYER and Target have 20% off starting this Wednesday (although after Big W has drained everyone's wallets I doubt anyone will have the money to hit either store :) -

Got reports from another forum that the Mini and Detective's Office have started showing up at MYER (in Perth at least). Now we just need another sale and hope the scalpers haven't cleaned out all the stock by the time that happens... -

So no-one else has noticed (or cares) that MYER are now selling the Braniac Attack set? -
Given that the rights to the Daleks are owned by the estate of Terry Nation (who created them) and that there have been issues in the past with the BBC and the rights to the Daleks (e.g. the BBC was OK with the Dalek appearance in Looney Tunes: Back in Action but the Terry Nation estate was not) I suspect it may not be as simple as it looks for LEGO to put a Dalek in the Dr Who ideas set. (which is a pitty as I would LOVE to have one)
