PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement
nymmerod replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I asked in the Rumor thread but that has conversation has been shut down by the mods. Does anyone know why Lego is listing Lobot’s cybernetic band as an accessory? What do they mean? Is that just a reference to a new head print for Lobot? I can't see any accessory in the photos. I'm confused. -

Quick question: Why does Lego list "Lobot's cybernetic band" as an accessory? Are we talking about the printing around the back of his head? Or is there something else that I'm missing in the photos? -

Nice work TLG! Cloud City has turned out to be exactly what I wanted out of it. YMMV. The only thing missing is 3PO's parts in a net/backpack but I'm not sure how they would pull that off and also have it be able to connect to Chewie's back without several new molds and it would probably still look derpy. -

I think a big part of the appeal of Lego for at least some of us is the minifigures themselves and minifigure scale sets. I, for one, would never buy a microfigure Cloud City. That scale just doesn't interest me. But if it is similar in scale and playability/features to Assault on Hoth then count me in on day one. -
MOC Jabba's custom TIE Fighter ''Choba Mafa''
nymmerod replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is an awesome build. Very clever and creative. I commend you for sharing something the likes of which we've never seen before. Love it. I imagine he would have a couple of gamorrean guard wingmen in smaller custom TIEs.- 24 replies

Actually, it was a major surprise given that our Mod's "reliable" source told us there would be a Luke minifigure and that news was on the first thread since at least March.
-
It was briefly available at Legoland California back in March or something.
-
Sorry if this is an inappropriate place for this question. Is there any reliable source that has mentioned a Luke minifigure in this year's TLJ sets? It seems odd we haven't seen one at this point. I know that the OP's trusted source had originally said Luke would come in 75189, which has since been proven false. Now he's not mentioned on the first page. Are there any other sources that mention him?

That is a good thing in this case. This is an exclusive set to which most consumers will not have reasonable access. I'm glad I won't feel like I'm missing out on something by not getting it.
-
It's not totally out of the realm of possibility to get something the size of the 75055 Star Destroyer. So maybe they would do that. Or it could be a playset of just a portion of the interior like 7754 Home One.

No image of the new IG-88 anywhere? Do we know if it's identical to the last one?

I'd prioritize by which is your favorite or most important to you. When I started collecting modulars, I assumed Town Hall would stick around and bought Pet Shop instead despite liking it less. I thought Pet Shop being older made it a higher priority. Town Hall was retired the next month and vanished too quickly for me to get it at a reasonable price. In hindsight, I still don't have Town Hall and I'd much rather have it on my modular street than some of the others.

I can't believe that we still don't have an updated Bespin version of Luke. It's the most iconic scene of any Star Wars sequel and I can't make a decent diorama of it without him. I also can't believe they didn't cash in on the TFA Luke yet. That minifig would sell whatever it would be paired with like hotcakes. Let's get the Luke situation under control Lego! I already have like 5 ROTJ duel Lukes. Actually, let's get the whole third act of TESB under control Lego!

Brilliant work. I love it.

I kinda hope it's that speeder bike that hasbro made with an elite black FO stormtrooper. 2 of those and 2 regular troopers would be nice. I don't remember seeing any on film though.
-
Definitely number 2, but ditch the motorization. Just go for accuracy, stability and interior features over motorization.

I got my first Lego set for Christmas 1987. Black Falcon's Fortress (6074). I only got a few more small sets over the next few years and then sort of "grew out" of Lego. I left all of that old stuff at my mom's house when I moved out for college. Then in 1999 I bought Slave I (7144). I came out of the dark ages for that one set, then jumped right back into my dark ages until 2012. In 2012, I bought Gandalf Arrives (9469) and was so taken with it that I eventually bought the entirety of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit lineup. When that theme was discontinued I started pouring my expendable income into the Star Wars sets. I always secretly wanted to be more involved in Lego but limited finances as a child, and a perceived negative stigma as an adult kept me from fully engaging in the hobby until recently. My parents/family think I'm insane now that I've spent thousands on Lego all told. But I love it.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

There are no resistance troopers in the opening, only villagers. Their figures have not been produced. The resistance troopers are just generic mooks that aren't relevant to any scene featuring the FO troop transport. -
[MOC][WIP][LDD] Minifig Scale Rebels Ghost Build
nymmerod replied to IcarusBuilds's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really love following this project. Brilliant. You've really captured the look. -
Way to ignore the embargo there Chewy... Does this mean that September 30th is the expected release date for the Rogue One sets? EDIT: sorry, looks like that question was answered already. It IS the release date.

those pauldrons are huge. i was hoping for a redesign to shrink them up a little. They're supposed to cover the shoulder, not the entire arm.
-
Looks like there's a goof and the U-Wing pilot minifig didn't make it into the "out-of-package" photo of the U-Wing. Instead a Rebel Trooper is shown. I had a mini-panic about it for a second because I LOVE that pilot fig, but he is pictured on the box. So we're good.

Just picked up 75147 StarScavenger on a whim along with all of the series 3 microfighters. Mini review: 75147 is a pretty decent parts pack for me, since it has a lot of parts I want. That's about all I can say in the positive. I did the build last night and was unimpressed. I feel like non-canon star wars sets should be a little better than this. For example: 75051 Jedi Scout Fighter is a much better non-canon set in my opinion. Not only was it an interesting ship with cool play features, but it also included three minifigs that are useful in the context of actual movie characters.
-
Nice work. I've always liked this ship's asymmetrical design. I look forward to seeing more of this project.

I can't express how glad I am that Han Solo will stop looking like Peter Griffin and start looking like Han Solo.
