  1. For me it would matter in terms of buying multiple copies of the sets because I can't afford to do that all at once. I usually buy all the sets once upon release and then a month or two later go back and buy the additional copies I want. But getting them at least once is better than not getting them at all I guess.
  2. Well let's all surprise them then and buy this 3rd wave the day it comes out!!!
  3. This might be the single greatest Lego build I have ever seen in my life.
  4. I am starting to think there was never any plans beyond the first two LOTR waves. Purely speculation, but I think since there were originally only 2 Hobbit films planned, they planned 2 LOTR waves to keep interest going before each film. The question becomes: Did TLG plan a 3rd LOTR wave from the outset and it has been delayed by a 3rd Hobbit film originally planned for summer? Or did they perhaps never have plans beyond wave 2, to see what sales were like? In either case, I will shed real human tears if we never get any more LOTR Lego sets.
  5. my favorite part is the kewl siege tower. nice job!
  6. Thanks for the kind words gents! My primary focus now is to get the floor plan down, then I will turn a little more to the furnishings and clutter. The film floor plan is rounded to the hill and I had to square mine off because I decided I didn't have the patience to try to make the curved hallways work. P.S. I will grab an aerial photo of the whole layout sometime for those who wanted to see. The other half of is quite unfinished at the moment. P.P.S. Sorry about the inadvertently adult nature of photo 8. It was indeed meant to be the scene posted by kreimkoek. P.P.P.S. Master_Data: I do have a couple of chandeliers in the works but haven't quite ironed out how I will do the roof. Also I scaled the whole thing based on the size of Lego's green door which is a little bigger than it really should be compared to the minifigures.
  7. Hi guys. I just thought I'd share my humble project with you all. I have been working on building the entire interior of Bag End based on the floorplan from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films. I'm not a great photographer and only have the camera attached to my phone so please bear with my lower quality photos. View down the west hall: The kitchen: The entrance hall: The parlour: The kitchen: The parlour: The kitchen: The parlour: The parlour: I am still waiting on some bricklink orders to finish the study, pantry, dining room and bedroom. The ultimate goal is to build the exterior hill once the interior is complete, though I don't know if I'll have the bricks for it. UPDATE: I finally found some time to devote to this again. Here's a little more: The dining room feast: The dining room from the other side: The pantry: View down the hall: The floor plan as requested: As you can see, I still have work to do on the left side of the house. I'm waiting on more wall bricks and floor tiles to finish the study (where we see Bilbo's desk and he writes in the Redbook of Westmarch), the bedroom (Briefly seen during the part when the dwarves sing the Misty Mountains song) and the hallway leading to the rear exit which is not seen on film. I haven't even begun planning the roof and exterior and I'm not sure if my wallet can handle that anytime soon. Update II: My mailman stole $60 of bricks from me so I've put this project on a back-burner for a while. But I did finish these two rooms... Bilbo's bedroom seen very briefly in AUJ: Bilbo's study:
  8. What do you guys think the odds are on getting more wargs in the new sets? I've been hoping for a new color like reddish brown or sand yellow. Is that too wishful? I guess the Dale battle set would really be the only option for them. And I also guess we don't know if PJ will even use them in the battle of the five armies.
  9. I can't believe we don't even have the set names yet. I'm so ready for any kind of snippet.
  10. So would that mean that we don't expect to get armored up Thorin or other dwarves in the 2014 sets, right? Just wondering, because if they were going to be produced then Lego would give the real designs to the video game people. In which case, I am saddened. And my secret dream of getting Thror and Thrain minifigs is even more far-fetched than that!
  11. I've been lurking here for a long time but nobody has mentioned the 3ds video game giving us a glimpse of a possible armored Thorin, as well as armored Fili and Kili. Links to some pics I snapped of my own 3ds since I couldn't find a single image of this anywhere on Google... http://postimg.org/image/hjazgxhh7/ http://postimg.org/image/e0yzkjgl7/ I apologize for the low quality images but the screen is tiny and the minifigs on screen are even smaller. And there isn't really a good way to get a full body shot. However the little headshot logos give a better idea on the torso printing. Thorin has the same crown that the Thror minifig has in-game. Also note the Bilbo on the top left of the first link. He is in a gold outfit that I haven't seen anywhere. I'm not sure what it's from. I, for one, hope these turn out to be some of the real figs we'll see this fall but who knows?
