  1. Excellent presentation. Those trees are awesome.
  2. Terrain is largely a "feel" thing. I would browse some GoH builds or Flickr pages of MOCers you think are good at it. nice landscaping can be a subtle art where less is often more. But you definitely gotta put something on top of those base plates to create a more immersive effect. I really like the radio tower. Has an insectoid, frail look that works well for the somewhat cyberpunk feel of AG.
  3. I really like those figs. Great idea for an underwater scene too.
  4. Very nice ship, Bob. Really cool to see your skills on a smaller vessel.
  5. I like the classic VTOL design (Osprey).
  6. Ah, that's just a great example of the mash-up Japanese/space theme of Kawashita. I like the idea that his outfit is older, antique gear perhaps handed down from an older relative. You can't beat vintage.
  7. Great build here. Love seeing the up close focus and then the larger MOC.
  8. And colonialism begins anew! With friendly pamphlets this time around.
  9. Good looking fig and good use of the Ninjago body for the Japanese-themed Kawashita Group! I think the game is supposed to be "purist" though, so keep that in mind in your builds. I believe Bob said customized stuff for your sigfig is okay, though. That gun works really well, IMO.
  10. Thanks Lady K. Very excited that AG is up and running! Orishni is all peace, decorum, and serenity... until it isn't. Thanks and that is very cool. Kawashita is Japanese in origin, so it makes sense that the home planet and some of the aesthetics would evoke that! Thanks mrcp6d! The dark blue was just about breaking up the color a bit. I added it before I settled on white trees with red leaves. Does it look bad? Then I succeeded! Not at all... except wait, wait. Is it going to be a Kawashita scientist!?
  11. Thanks AC! Yeah, I'm a pretty big fan. Love the new "Arise" series. Kawashita doesn't always wait for rumors to be verified. Perhaps Dr. Markham was innocent, but to even be allowed to lose face by being accused openly of treachery? Impossible. The Kawashita Group cannot accept dishonor of such magnitude. Hey, cool. Maybe Koro should be on the KG recruitment posters: "See interesting planets, kill interesting beaurocrats!" Thanks Mike! Thanks Tiger! Thanks Kai! Thanks Tyrus! Thanks Umbra! I wanted the Orinshi feel to be pristine, elegant, sterile, and delicately arranged... Japanese in other words!
  12. Thanks! Thanks SK. I get most of this from you. I appreciate that a lot. Photography stuff bothers me a lot. I have gone to pretty great lengths to improve my setup but I've hit a lot of roadblocks. SK's patient recommendations to use GIMP (he's had to tell me more than once!) have paid off the most. Thanks! Mitgardia=Norse as far as I'm concerned. :P I agree about the exposed studs. Don't know how I missed that! I did the bedroll using a bit of sting and a rolled up piece of felt. It'll never end until the Algus are stopped!
  13. Thanks, guys! Arigato! Haha, indeed! No doubt. Getting the chance to flex my Ghost in the Shell muscles!
  14. Narbilu-sama, the kill order on Dr. Markham has been received and executed. Perhaps others will think twice before selling secrets to our rivals May Kawashita bring fortune. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109578
  15. Garden Path Orinshi - 3185 Dr. Markham knew what he was doing was dangerous. Especially now. But the money was too good... and the retirement package? Wow! Still, he would be lying if he didn't admit to a tiny twinge of regret when he realized what was following him. But maybe it's his imagination. Maybe he's just so afraid KG knows his plans that he is seeing things that aren't there. Yeah, that must be it... Koro kept pace easily, hopping from Torii to Torii. He even let Markham see him, just once, his neon blue cyborg's grin flashing like a jack-o-lantern. Scary stuff. But for disloyalty, Dr. Markham deserved to be frightened at the very least. A tingle in his ear warned him that Narbilu-sama was checking on his status. He reported, sending his thoughts through the interface to be translated as a voice in Narbilu-sama's ear, wherever he was in Andromeda. He requests direction... does Kawashita find the rumors of Markham's treachery to be compelling enough to demand he pay the ultimate price? Narbilu-sama confirms the Kill Order, and Koro stops playing with his prey. He drops down from the Torii to strike while Dr. Markham is trying to decide what kind of orbital yacht to buy with his ill-gotten gains. Kawashita accepts no traitors, and today, Koro is Kawashita's closed fist of swift reprisal. Alternate Shot:
  16. Arigato, Narbilu-sama. I am currently in pursuit of a scientist accused of selling secrets to the Octan. Do I have a kill order?
  17. That ship design with those lime green katana? Way way cool!
  18. Noooo. Sorry Bob! I just didn't see 100x100 in the Flickr export options. Should I resize?
  19. Koro is here for all the Special Operations (ninja stuff!) needs: Some Background: Koro's body is almost 90% artificial. Only his central nervous system and brain are still more or less organic. His body makes him faster, stronger, and more resilient than humans but also needs routine maintenance with proprietary hardware, firmware, and upgrades only available through Kawashita. Effectively, this gives Kawashita copyright and ownership privileges of most cyborgs who have legally acquired their technology. This is part of the reason why so many cyborgs serve in Kawashita's various departments and programs. For some, this is seen as an oppressive and intrusive exploitation of amputees and people with degenerative illnesses, allowing Kawashita to create for itself a selection of indentured servants. However, Koro believes that he owes Kawashita a debt of service as a matter of honor. Koro may do serious work, but he's not a very serious guy. He may be just deflecting or hiding behind sarcasm and sassy jokes, but it's noteworthy that the seriousness of his job and role in Kawashita don't fully define his personality. That said, he has a hard time making friends because his job makes it hard to trust him. His skills and moral flexibility, more so than his cyborg body, make him an ideal candidate for one of Kawashita's many Black Book projects. His work is primarily espionage, but he is also frequently loaned out to other projects and operations, usually under the title of "Consultant". Usually, these jobs are security-related, but he is frequently tasked with spying on the company's... less loyal employees.
  20. Here is my Kawashita sigfig, the cyborg Special Operator Koro. Thumbnail:
  21. Good story and cool idea for a robot.
  22. Thanks! Thanks Gun. Problem is, I live on the 9th floor of a high-rise in a very windy region. I cannot do outdoor photography and none of my pictures use flash. The issue is reflection of my 100w Halogen lights on the plastic. It's fairly unavoidable for me and something I grapple with because the defects in my presentation of MOCs always bug me. If I don't keep "harsh" lighting on the MOC I'm photographing, I get rampant shadows and a gritty image. I use GIMP to smooth out the contrast and brightness as best I can, but there are usually "light spots" from the plastic reflecting the bulbs. Thanks!
