[Anthology] – Small - Meeting with the Regent to King Prana
goatman461 replied to goatman461's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Thank you. Yeah, I probably could've gone either way with the 32x32 cutoff, and the resistance shuttle is a little more appealing. Thank you. (just to clarify, the minifigs are purist, in case anybody cares about that) I've been scrounging up as many dark blue figs as I can and really enjoyed creating all of the characters. Thank you Thank you. I'm assuming you mean the black tails on the roof; I meant for those to be alien plants, but I should have been more careful with "tentacles" in a Rathtar-related build :) Thank you for the votes so far. Keep 'em coming ;)- 6 replies

Ouch. I didn't know judging would be (somewhat) subjective to each builder's past builds so I didn't think much of posting this simpler build. I think I can spot BEAVeR's review ;) Thanks for the comments, I'll keep them in mind for any future BH builds

Star Wars Anthology Contest - Small (32x32) Entry The Regent of King Prana - 01 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr A job for King Prana himself! Han's excitement was surpassed only by that of his new intern Steve. They would need lots of interns now to bring in so many Rathtars. Soooo many Rathtars, he could hardly believe how lucky he was to get such a job. Times had been tough, and Chewie wouldn't quit grumbling about their diminished status in the galaxy. Han's loyal first mate was still complaining that only ten years ago they would have been meeting with King Prana himself, not some lowly satellite Regent of Exploration and Acquisition. The Regent of King Prana - 02 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr The Regent's headquarters was a busy operation. Explorers were always coming and going. The living quarters were rarely occupied for more the few days needed to personally debrief their missions and resupply their ships' stores. Many of the explorers were former Imperial Survey Corps officers and pilots who were use to the independence of their ships and the short, unwanted intermissions at home. The Regent of King Prana - 06 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr The only permanent staff were the bellhops... The Regent of King Prana - 05 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr the Regent's personal security detail... The Regent of King Prana - 04 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr mechanics, shuttle operators, and the facility concierge. The Regent of King Prana - 03 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I hope y'all enjoyed my MOC. If you're in Texas July 8-10, come see it at BrickFiesta. C&C appreciated.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
goatman461 replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
New BH Mission Kyuzo on Ord Mantell posted. Once approved, please also review the Clawdite on Lothal. I think I should be at 195 (187+8) after Ep XI and +5 after the Kyuzo mission. If that's not enough to get the Clawdite mission judged, I'll round up some Ewoks sometime soon. Thanks. -
On the muddy streets of Little Phatrong on the western fringes of Worldport, Ord Mantell, Black Sun Regent Asanu follows his well armed escort. A local peasant kneels to honor the hero of the Kyuzo community. Bubbling tanks of fuel steadily hum and slowly leak into the barren soil. One guard distracts himself with the carnivorous wildlife feeding off the loose fuel. As much as he despised getting up close, the Kyuzo fashion rendered his sniper rifle ineffective. Besides, with such a popular community figure, friendly rooftops for a perch would be hard to come by. The district would be on full lock-down soon and the bounty hunter has a long night ahead of him if he's going to escape.

Thanks guys. Sorry I didn't have time for a write-up. Hopefully the pictures convey enough story. Basically, ZW is just starting to step back and take it all in, but he's still an ignorant cog, all too eager to follow orders. The building is damaged because it'll be part of a LUG collab this summer, but here, I thought it made sense for Kuat to have random damage from falling debris from the ring

nice looking trench and building. the door looks great and the colors work well together. that wall looks really good, too. hopefully the judges will look at your overall shots, probably should have included those in a spoiler since they show how nice of a build it is overall- 11 replies

great job getting in-universe shots and incorporating some neat architectural elements and details throughout. I'm not sure about some of the minifig selection, but you yellows always erk me when comes to figs :) while the scene has a great overall vibe, I think those swamp speeders are you best part, the detail is fantastic and you were able to blend lbg and dbg together so seamlessly. You structured them extremely well so that it looks like they do belong in the swamps with their shallow hull. -
great photography and low-angled shots. the platform looks nice against the vegetation
-
Very nice and unique rock work and the vegetation is extremely well done, as usual. The angled platform is a nice touch and I'm interested to see how you attached your greebles in the side; you were able to get some good details in there without making it look bulky.

63 to Bob, please. Thanks to all the Octan builders that gave me a lot of motivation to build over the last year. I hope you kick MANTIS's you-know-what
-
Thanks. It started from wanting to do this on a starfighter scale and it just looked too much like the arc to do anything else. Flipping it around just made it look like a weird sub.

[MOC] Minifig-scaled Rebels GHOST & PHANTOM project
goatman461 replied to TM_builds's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Fantastic work on the Phantom. You did a great job keeping it smaller but getting the overall shape and proportions. I think you have some room for improvement on the wings; try to keep that middle section skinny so you can also smooth out the grey parts underneath the folded wings. It won't be play-friendly, but it'll keep it from looking as chunky and rough. I would also sub out the lbg round plates on top with the newer white round jumpers. On the Ghost, I'm worried you're going to have a lot of problems with the windshields being the correct proportion. I wouldn't fault you for doing it with solid bricks or with tubing like the UCS MF -
