  1. "oh dear..." ENDOR MOUNTAIN CYPRESS by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr
  2. Movements: We want move left to Q9, than up to F9, go left to collect the bonus on F2 and use the remaining movements to go as close as possible to the Shield Generator. "It really wasn't my fault. My squad was on long range recon and they told me to find some supper. I was out for hours before I happened upon this great, fat wild boar. Only it wasn't a boar. Just a piglet. And after we cooked it up and the squad had their fill, the sounder came around looking for revenge. There's only two of us now, but it doesn't look like it'll stay that way for long. Lucky for me the other guys didn't let me eat yet, so I've been a lot faster on my feet. Right now I'm not sure which is going to be worse - this mad momma pig or reporting back to the platoon. I guess we'll see. :(" Endor Boar-Wolf by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr
  3. Fantastic work. Any shots of the underside while it's assembled? The breakdown shot is a perfect example of using every bit of the guts and building from every angle.
  4. Official scores/xp: MKJoshA - Cat. A - 17 - Cat. B - 14 brickmasterben - Cat. A - 9 Goatman461 - Cat. A - 20 - Cat B - 25 Kodan Black - Cat. A - 17 LegoRacer1 - Cat. A - 7 LucasLaughing - Cat. A - 19 Gubi0222 - Cat. A - 19 Thanks again, everybody. I think we got some really creative and interesting ships out of this Episode.
  5. Thank you. And I can't really imagine going 3 months without building or planning a build. I'm not always productive, but with the store I'm trying to open I don't think I've spent a day without doing something LEGO for a very long time. Lucas is a bit more normal than me, though. I think you'll like the next Episode, but I don't want to give too much away. Thanks for the feedback. I know some of the Imperial builders had RL get in the way, too. It's tempting to make the Episodes super long to allow everybody time to build, but I've also noticed that a lot of people wait until the last few weeks to start and we don't want to lose any momentum in people's excitement about the prompt.
  6. So what's everybody's thoughts on having so few builds this last Episode? I'm thinking we have a lot fewer ship-builders than I thought we did, but there were also a ton of Corellian freighters being built this month, and others that could have easily cross posted. Is the barrier for posting to one of our Episodes so high? Or are people just ambivalent about posting here? I think having a micro category might have helped to let others feel like they could commit to building, but I also don't want to have overly complex rules and micros were obviously allowed.
  7. @Kodan Black Oh can't they... I actually did give it landing gear; you can see it in the last shot. I would have just left it on it's wings if it could take the weight, but not with those angles. @MKJoshA Busted, I did get lazy with editing in the end. I thought about reshooting because I made the mistake of shooting against white, but already broke the hangar door down for a mosaic. Thanks for all the comments and for enjoying the Episode
  8. Another bold color choice and interesting design. Getting some long dark blue wedge plates should help integrate the blues a bit more. The dbg cockpit and passage don't bother me, but there could be more dbg greebling on and around those sections to integrate it better. You could also add some more machinery over the top and integrated into the wedge plate sections. More dbg greebling on the outer rim might help hide those hinges for the wedge plate sections, too. I would also sacrifice some functionality in the top gun for something that was a little sleeker and anchored to the ship. Great work
  9. Very cool SHIP. The purple throws me a bit, but I think if you used some of the other Friends colors to blend it out some, it won't be so intense. Some more LBG tiling and greebles would be great, too. This makes me want to build something similar and just add details over a long period of time. Great work and thank you for letting me use it in the background of my shot.
  10. We've already PM'd about saturation levels and integrating the cockpit into the side more, but I wanted to be sure to mention it here for the benefit of other builders and congratulate you on a cool ship. The war room has some great details as well, like the slopes under the screen and the curves under the table. I'll definitely be referencing this shot in future Imp builds
  11. Very interesting design work and great ship. I especially like the landing gear and the angles you got on the front section. I probably would have sacrificed some of the interior to integrate the side weapons a little better and to allow for more interesting greebles and tile work on the side sections. Thanks for building with us
  12. I like the concept of your hangar. It reminds me of the Falcon's hangar on Tatooine, and others I've seen in concept art. Curving the walls would certainly help, but I don't think it's really necessary. Maybe some pillars just of the wall to make it look more urban. Definitely need to go higher or crop the picture more to keep us from seeing the top, though. The ship is cool. There are certainly places where you could have incorporated more greebling or interesting techniques for integrating your other parts. Like, the front grill could be switched out with a couple of 1x1 snot pieces with dbg greeble parts on the sides. Or, keeping the parts around your weapons lbg so they blend better into the ship.
  13. That first room is fantastic, although I have trouble picturing how the flooring fits into the rest of the space. The hangar is great, as well; but to fit into the SW universe it might need to either get junkier or sleeker, depending on where it's suppose to be. I guess it does resemble the Lothal factory pretty well, though. Excellent details throughout. The starfighter is a cool concept. More color blocking would help, which I find requires a lot of planning, building, and rebuilding, and rebuilding, and rebuilding...
  14. Thanks everybody. @Kodan Black I was going to do two engines on the side but it was going to be difficult with the angles on the back. The main engine fits nicely into the main supports, but didn't have a good mount for anything else.
  15. Interesting shaping on the ship. The hull seems to have a good proportion. There are several places where weapons and other features could be better integrated on the rebel ship and ISDs, but the main thing I think you should focus on is the presentation. Using a poster board with the back curving up will help a lot. Lifting the ISBs slightly would help keep them from looking so flat. Angling your shots to be more on level with you builds will make them look more professional/realistic; the interior shot would benefit from that a lot because you would be able to hide the studs and make us think of the scene rather than the build itself. Also, editing with GIMP is huge and will allow you to play with the hue, saturation, contrast, etc. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for building with us.
  16. The Rebellion boldly tries to close the gap with the Empire, led by a brave, blue YT-50 freighter. But the Empire intercepts the lead ship with an Eta-2x. The smaller Imperial ship takes plenty of hits from the Corellian, but armored plating in key areas makes the difference, and the fighter's oversized heat exchangers allow it to over power the Rebel's shield. The Rebel's first wave is completely annihilated. The remainder of the Rebel fleet is surrounded, desperate, and praying for a miracle on the forest moon below. Thanks for participating in the Episode. We'll post individual scores soon (still some final totals to work out, but nothing that affected these match ups). Start working on your tree designs, @MKJoshA has some interesting game play lined up that will be a lot of fun. Imperials, let us know if you want the tag... (I would like the tag, please) FYI, the freebuild count has reset as of October 1.
  17. The Trasimene charges into the Rebel fleet and is challenged by an Outfitted Republic Cruiser. The older cruiser's engines cannot break free from the Trasimene's tractor beams, but it has no intention of running. The ships exchange deadly salvos, the Imperial launches TIE/In Interceptors flown by Royal Guard pilots, the Republic Cruiser decimates their ranks as the TIEs pour out of their hangars, but is disabled by the quad heavy turbolasers. The Trasimene releases it's kill and turns to face the second wave of Rebel ships. Following swiftly beside the Trasimene, an Echo Class Assault Shuttle called the Mynock searches for a fat target to board. But one swift pilot flying the Sparrow sees the shuttle sizing up targets amid the chaos and he dives in to protect it's slower counterparts. The fast ship quickly intercepts the shuttle, but is unable to pierce the Mynock's heavy shielding. Before the Rebel can turn to try for a second pass, the Imperial's aft turrets disable the starfighter, sending it spiraling into space. The Mynock focus turns back to the Rebel fleet, and the second wave of ships. The battle is going roughly for the surprised, outnumbered, and desperate Rebels. An aggressive blue streak fills the gap in the Rebel battle lines...
  18. The Empire will be represented by Admiral Evolved Turtle. First attack is the Barca-class command cruiser and the Echo-class assault shuttle. The Rebels will have to defend against the command cruiser with their Outfitted Republic cruiser. @MKJoshA may select a starfighter to defend against the assault shuttle. Highest scores will win. Winners will advance to Wave 2 and the Rebels will have to attack with their remaining starfighter.
  19. Goatm An 4-61 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr After some reprograming, AWOL ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1 take a new assignment as Royal Guard pilot Goatm An 4-61 aboard the second Death Star. Please judge. Location is Endor/DS2.
  20. Thank you everybody that posted. Now, each team needs to name an Admiral to coordinate their fleet. The Imperial Admiral will start the attack.
  21. Councilman 1 - "Guardsman An, I do believe we've found a suitable home for you. You won't remember this, but it has been a while since you've flown as part of a unit, but we believe you will be quite comfortable here." Goatm An 4-61 - "Yes, councilman." Royal Guard TIE Interceptor by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Councilman 1 - "The starfighter is not entirely custom, but unique to you're new billet. Dedicated personal hangar and crew. Prestige. Purpose. With all of your running around I assume you missed those the most." Goatm An 4-61 - "Yes, councilman." Royal Guard TIE Interceptor by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Goatm An 4-61 - "Councilman, if I may, I am honored to fly such a fine craft in service of our Emperor." Councilman 1 - "Yes, An. They've even interfaced your targeting computer with your ocular interface. Royal Guard TIE Interceptor by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr "Full atmospherics and hyperdrive are also available if you find the need to pursue the fight past the initial engagement. Your panels are also tighter than other models to give you more speed and maneuverability to nearly match the A-Wings we are expecting. But your squadron commander is most anxious to see what you can do against the modified freighters and various rabble brought forth by the rebels. The Executor is standing by to upload schematics of the rebel fleet as soon as it comes available. Your cybernetics will allow you to process this information immediately, giving you quite an interesting advantage. Only our Death Troopers can act on field intelligence so quickly." Royal Guard TIE Interceptor by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr "But of course you know this. I'll have to get use to talking to half a droid." Goatm An 4-61 - "You wisdom is always appreciated, Councilman. I am receiving orders to man my post. The fleet is expected soon. May we discuss this after the battle?" Councilman 1 - "Guardsman, I eagerly await your ARR. Contact my office as soon as you land." Royal Guard TIE Interceptor by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Goatm An 4-61 - "Yes, councilman."
  22. I could use a Rebel SHIP to (soft) collaborate with on my Cat. A TIE Interceptor. Really I'd just like to have a large(ish) Rebel ship in the background. PM me if you're interested and you think your shots will be available before the 30th.
  23. The ISB commander's yacht on Commenor had a partially scrubbed flight log, but I was able to identify approach protocols for an unusual class of ship from the control presets. These protocols insinuated that an aft approach was required for friendly vessels. Because the ISB yacht would not normally be concerned with the particular formalities required by other officers, it seemed likely that this aft approach was a mechanical requirement rather than the whims of the commander. Many smaller ships had similar mechanical requirements because of docking ports, but this yacht had very little wear around their ship-to-ship seals. This would imply a larger ship with a hangar large enough for a full yacht... the Barca-class cruiser. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr These cruisers were quite rare; often used as serrated spear against larger capital ships. The cruiser would charge into close quarters with their larger foes, like some of the heavier Mon Cala ships increasingly being used by the Rebellion. Two heavy tractor beams would take hold and a starfighter contingent would be deployed to remove any enemy fighters or armaments from the ship. However, Imperial officers feared commanding such a ship because the quickest way to escape a serrated blade is to break it off. As the Mon Cala engines became more powerful, Barca-class cruisers were being pulled into hyperspace and ripped apart as the Rebels escaped. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Cross referencing my other data, 37 of these ships were currently in service and attached to various task forces throughout the galaxy as auxiliary vessels. Nothing prestigious enough to warrant visits by an ISB commander's yacht. A 38th cruiser must still be out there, off the Empire's official books. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I would have to stowaway aboard the ISB capital ship overhead and look closer into their data. XVI - data 1 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Everything seemed normal. Disposed of a technician while he was preparing for his shift, reported to his post on time and busied myself until I was alone. Upgrades to my arm let me slice quickly into the terminal without exposing my chest scomp link, which would be necessary for such an exposed location, but more dangerous because of the slice wouldn't have all the usual redundant firewalls. Which is exactly what got me... XVI - data 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I couldn't move. Helpless on the floor. Squads of stormtroopers ran by, but none came inside. They were securing the corridors all around me. A commander entered with his escort pilot. XVI - data 3 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Councilman 1 - "ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1, it is my honor to welcome you back home. Your services have been requested and it's time to end this little vacation of yours. "Pilot, secure our guest and extract his data. I want everything from the last 20, no, 50 years catalogued. We'll decide what we want to keep later. "Bridge! Proceed to our rendezvous with the Trasimene, the Endor system." Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr
  24. Almost ready to take some real shots. Made some changes to the TIE Interceptor and gave it a hangar. The first shot is a technique, but you should be able to flip through to the other shots on Instagram (still learning)...
