  1. There is another thing with all those recent models and it already starts to show. The new red can soon be white :) First 42000, then 42025, we have 42039 and now 42043 partially white. There are already a few superb white MOCs out there and I'm sure more will soon come. Can't wait:)
  2. Update: I have added this MOC on Rebrickable. If you have any suggestions/input regarding the building process (if you decide to build it), please let me know here or on Rebrickable. link (also updated in the firts post): http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Mestari/waiting-for-the-train
  3. It's all true, but it just doesn't seem to be in line with the "only the best is good enough " statement and the prices commanded.
  4. "Al's cuts" has already been misread by several people so it's safer to go with "hair " ;)
  5. That's one of the best usage of brick separators I have seen ;)
  6. The review is great, the set - not so much. It actually convinced me to buy Pet Shop instead. Definitely too pricey for what it is. Too small, too light (lots of small bits), unnecessary waste of space and other resources for the barrel thing and that ugly sides. I will only buy a "post-exposition"/damaged box copy or similar to cut costs. It's not worth the full price. I think it is fair to compare it to GG and other modulars. Why should we not? It's supposed to be one of them!
  7. I simply LOVE the news about pneumatics! Finally! Now, for the pictures ;) And saving for this beauty...
  8. Is there a place where I can read about that troublesome design process of the PC?
  9. Thank you all for comments, I'm glad you like it :) It's nice to hear different opinions ;) I'll be probably making instructions too at same point. I'll update this topic then with Rebrickable link.
  10. Absolutely great! But I must admit that especially where the Orient Express is, the small scale of trains in comparison to minifigures is bugging me. I didn't care for it before, but when you see all else done so well, you start seeing more other "problems" with Lego cities... I need to do something to stop seeing this ;) Making minifig-scale-correct train in Lego would be just too big.
  11. Hello, I have presented my small "Waiting for the train" vignette some time ago. Upon presentation there were some suggestions to have at least some representation of a train station as well. Since that one was too small to fit it, I have expanded my MOC to a 32 x 32 footprint. I hope you'll enjoy :) EDIT: This MOC is now on LEGO Ideas - please support it by clicking here if you like it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96989 THANK YOU! I am especially happy with the bench: All the pictures are here: http://bricksafe.com..._train_expanded
  12. Hello, A fellow LUG member of mine has a question regarding this element: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x543. Does anyone of you know how fast or slow this element blinks? I guess you need to plug some light to it first ;) but the question is will this blinking be of constant frequency and if so, what is it? Or maybe you can control it. If so, how? Anyone know this? :) Thanks!
  13. 1. Technic 2. Creator (expert, modulars, all houses...) 3. Castle 4. Pirates but frankly - all of it ;)
  14. It would be even better to have two versions of the undercarriage- one with suspension as it is now and one with solid axles. Then have it published on rebrickable as two different models. A link to this thread in description would be great:) Can't wait to have it happened and have all the parts to build this beauty:) Thanks to all who made it possible!
  15. It's great as all of your modular creations:) That motor is an M motor by the way;)
  16. On the opposite here in Poland. PR was expensive but they added yet another 10 euros on top of that for DO. That means I'm not buying it. Not for that price anyway.
  17. How does the one from 70403 compare?
  18. Wow... this looks impressive, to say the least...
  19. Category A: #3 #2 Category B: #4 #3 Category C: #4 #2
  20. So much nice techniques! I really like the result you got :)
  21. Here's one crazy idea :) I was reading the Jurassic World thread and saw that the JW vehicles are actually mosty various Mercedes cars. So maybe we'll get technic Jurrasic World car? ;) That would be a first...
  22. That (6521) was the first set my brother got :) And on the very same day I got this beauty: Boy, was I happy! I was dreaming of Lego for a couple of years already but couldn't get it. It wasn't that simple in Poland to buy Lego before we regained freedom in 1989. You had to have some USD or other western currency. For Polish "zloty" you wouldn't get any set. There was a chain of stores called Pewex, where you could spend some foreign currency to buy such stuff. I used to go there several times a week to stare at lego and image I had at least one, even small set. And then my father went to Unites States for a couple of weeks for a business trip. As I learned later my mum told him she won't let him in the flat if he doesn't bring Lego for his boys :) I was Lego maniak before I had Lego... so I got the biggest set, my brothers got the car above and a set with two policemen on motorbikes. The Basic 720 was a brilliant thing. It contained all the pieces required to build almost everything. A house, car, boat, plane, train, whatever you wished, just some imagination was required. That's it. I played a lot with it for the years to follow. As a result my only minifig lost its face printing, face become loose, legs not stiff anymore. All trans clears became milky and so on... you get the picture ;) And then, the transformation came :) in 1989 we became free again from Russia, the market changed rapidly, Lego started to flow in and you could pay with our currency in Pewex'es. But that is a different story ;) I'll just say, that the smallest M-Tron set began the long list of sets to follow my first one :)
  23. Wow, I was always wondering how many people are actually building given MOC, especially that big :)
