  1. Hey guys! I had a lot of fun bulding this little droid, so I decided to go one step further and to build an bigger and more complex astromech. As it turned out it took a lot of time until I was satisfied with performance and size Dimensions: weight: 2348g height: 46 studs with antenna width: 33 studs depth: 25 studs PF: 2x IR-receiver 2x L motor 3x M motor 3x extension wire 1x battery box Drive: The drivetrain is quite simple: skid steering powerd by two L motors geared 1:2.799 Functions: Because I wanted more seperated funtions than one IR-receiver can provide I came up with two solutions. The hatch can be opened and closed. It's connected to a distribution gearbox, so when it's closed power is provided to the tilt mechanism. In the moment you open the hatch, the power will be provided to a serial valve control for two pneumatic valves. These valves are for the outrigger and the claw. The antenna is connected with some beams to the valve control, so I have optical feedback of the valve status. For air supply there is an automatic compressor with two grey pumps and also a nice two cylinder fake engine here is a short video. enjoy! P.S: well something went wrong as you can see at the title of my topic so...Jim or someone else: could you please change the title to: "[MOC] astromech FP-08" ? That would be great! thx
  2. you have many nice parts and lots of PF. why don't you build a tracked robot with an articulated arm like this one ? :) btw. welcome to EB!
  3. Very nice! could you also show it "naked" so you can see the mechanism work?! would be great!
  4. Superb! I love kinetic sculptures and this one is really cool!
  5. Wow! amazingly many details! looks great!
  6. very nice design. i like it a lot!
  7. that cam to my mind, too and i double-checked it 1000 times. when i put in 2 normal and 4 rechargeable ones it works.
  8. i tried rechargeable batteries in the small battery box (AAA) and it didn't even turned on...
  9. I would say yes. when you try this in LDD it works, too.
  10. i think the gearbox wont fit in the frame. not enough space for the gears.
  11. oh it seems like something went wrong....so here you go
  12. hey guys! finally I managed to finish the LDD. There are a few parts I couldn't build in the LDD: - the mini LA is pushed down by two of the white rubber bands (as you can see in the picture) - the black pipes in the face have to be connected to the 3L pins in the 13M beam on the back of the head - I couldn't find the part I used for the antenna ( it's from 8250/8299) so I found another solution - the 5x7 panels on the sides can be connected with more pins to the 5x11 panel - the white 2x4 electric plate in the head is connected to the IR receiver and to the micro motor using this and this cable If you have any questions please ask! Have fun building it and please show it to me when you are finished!
  13. The bodywork is fantastic! looking forward to see the video!
  14. the mini car is really great! ;-)
  15. Hello! this is my latest creation, a small and agile astromech called FP-03! I've used 3 M motors, 2 for driving and one for the gripper. The antenna is driven by a micro motor and the sound comes from this little part I found in my collection the weight is 630 grams. hope you like it!
  16. No I don't. But you can delete the 2 L motors and the batterybox from the LDD and then use the "export to BOM" function.
  17. Thank you guys. Has anyone rebuilt it yet?
  18. I've used the 2L with bushes, because normal pins would have touched the tracks in the middle.
  19. hey! now I've finished the lxf file! feel free to build and improve
