  1. Thank you guys for taking the time to comment, I appreciate the feedback! I agree with you Beaver, I felt it was kind of cluttered when I had finished. I did eliminate a few things that helped before I took pictures (it was more cluttered than you see here originally, if you can believe that). Admittedly, that's kind of the look I was going for - I wanted a sort of industrial medical bay where they would focus more on throughput and efficiency than anything aesthetic. I should also mention that with this build, I tried to only use parts from the most recent Echo Base set. The only pieces in it that aren't from Echo are (4) 6x16 dark bley plates that I used to make the base and floor. I am kind of retentive ( ) with my collection and I try not to mix up my sets, figuring out what pieces go where after the fact is a big pain... I do have a couple BL orders on the way with about 650 parts that I bought mainly for SoNE purposes, it's Star Wars and I need more greys! Lego Spy, I will stick around. Hopefully I can help tip the scales back in the right direction!
  2. After being Left For Dead, someone has lent A Helping Hand...
  3. Ah, the beaches of Spira... There is nothing like the feeling of sprawling out on the sand with the sun beating down, soft breeze licking at your face... There is also nothing like the jarring realization that you are, in fact, not vacationing on Spira - you are floating in a bacta tank. With that the reality of all that happened on Tatooine came rushing back to me. A quick glance towards the end of my right arm confirmed it. I had given up all hope of rescue, my only wish was that I would be long dead before the scavengers found me. Who found me and how? The 2-1B unit drained the bacta tank. It felt good to support my own weight again. I glanced past the monitors and saw an operating table prepped with a Repli-Limb hand, the neural-interface rods sticking awkwardly out of the end of it. "This is probably going to hurt..." I said out loud to no-one in particular. "I am preparing a neural bypass sir", the droid replied. "Though I will need to remove it before we perform the sensation test". I settled onto the table, "Damn thing is right" I thought to myself, "I can't feel a thing from the shoulder down". As I watched the droid work my thoughts drifted away to my squad. I could feel my face redden as the anger welled up inside me. "This hand will be the hand of vengeance for them", I took a deep breath and made a a tight fist with my new hand, "and I will not waiver in my determination to exact it". "Sir" said the droid, interrupting my thoughts, "please report to the Captain for debriefing". Alright, time to get some answers... Comments and criticism is most welcome, this is only my second MOC/vignette so I'm eager for feedback. I would like for this to be judged for SoNE. Here are a few other angles: For anyone interested here is part 1: Left for Dead
  4. Alright I was pretty excited to try this out. I had built MS in LDD without any MODs and decided to try out the curved railing that you mentioned from GE. I left the changes bright red so its easy to see - the only changes here are eliminating the hoses, robot arms, clips and either the 2x6 plate on the balconies or the 1x2 tile on the front staircase in between the two clips and then adding the pieces in red. Now one huge question that remains for me is what colors I can get these railings in. I think I like this solution a lot... Edit - white is readily available for the curved and straight fence pieces
  5. That's a good call, I am going to check that out. I have been brainstorming for alternatives to the hoses, up till now the best replacement I had come up with would have mirrored the ground floor railing that uses the 6L or 6.6L umbrella rod with straight robot arm/bars on the sides to mate up with the building...
  6. I am very curious to know how it looks with the tabless hoses. I assume you found white ones? I anxiously await your pictures!
  7. I bought a pet shop over a year ago from a brand store and it came with the panels w/ side supports. I never thought to look until earlier today when the issue came up in this thread, even then I didn't realize that the set originally had the older version.
  8. I think my attempt at enlistment got swept over with all of the math dramas of the last week... Please sign me up before I defect to the rebels
  9. That's a very inventive solution for display! Some greebles on the front or sides would really make it feel 'death starish'...
  10. I totally agree with the quality of the pdf instructions. I had a rough time with several parts of the GG build and had to go back and forth checking my parts list to see if I was using the correct colors - small brown, black and dark green pieces were the worst. On the same page with TheLegoDr with the windows, I decided to use actual windows from the get-go. If you want to see what it looks like with the windows I posted a render a few pages back of what my CC build will look like.
  11. Yeah it can't hurt to ask right? My wife would demand a $1k purse immediately if she saw my spreadsheets for GG, CC and MS Speaking of spreadsheets, I would be willing to share my CC spreadsheet if that would be helpful. It has a list of all parts with images (modified slightly as covered in my previous posts about changes I am making) along with columns to track cost, parts already owned, and items received. I also have tables at the bottom to tally cost of parts, cost of shipping and progress.
  12. Unfortunately, I don't think they allow returns for custom orders (which is what they call BnP and PAB orders). Congrats on growing your parts pile! I received my largest order for MS and CC yesterday, now I have 85% of the parts for CC and 75% for MS. Only 1 more BL, 1 PAB and 1 BnP order to go
  13. I had the same problem sourcing the grey turntable bases, I ended up getting black. For the garbage can, if you don't care get the version with 4 tabs ( one originally in the set is the old version with 2 tabs and sells for a lot in the US ). This can be found in light bley for very cheap.
  14. Thanks for your comments! Part two is in the works...
  15. Oh man that is rough... Maybe it would make more sense to just pick up a second one and get some relatively cheap bricks out of it
  16. Death Star - though I am not sure it's such a good comparison to the modular line. I doubt there will ever be another set that has that long of a shelf life...
  17. Wow, I can't believe that they raised the price on those bricks so drastically. I dodged a pricey bullet by ordering everything I needed when I did, that would have significantly raised the cost of these projects for me. I forgot to post the final cost for my GG - $404.89 including shipping etc. I am very happy with that, compared with buying a boxed set I saved enough money to finance CC and a good chunk of MS. The only compromise that I made for parts ended up being swapping out the 1x8 sand green bricks for 1x6's and 1x2's. The white turntable bases and sand green hinge bases I was able to pick up for cheap off of BL when I was placing my CC and MS orders. Wodanis - How long was your PS exposed to the sun to have the bricks fade like that? I thought that would take a long time to happen. Thankfully everything I have displayed in my office and there are no windows...
  18. That's looking great! I agree that the corner has come off nicely, it will add some nice variety to your street. Your decals on the atm look very cool, I look forward to seeing this added to your layout.
  19. Yeah I highly doubt that they would discontinue this so soon after FB. If there is a change of the date posted on the website its probably due to supply chain issues or something of the like.
  20. You have seemed rather testy in several of your replies... If you want constructive feedback then you should post your creations someplace like this, if you can't handle any criticism you should probably look somewhere else for pats on the back. Some of the comments above are spot on, TLG would never produce a set that was marketed like this. You could probably have the same exact things included and just framed in a different way so that the entire scene wasn't revolving around the killing of the boy. Also, you may not feel the need to emphasize the landing platform or doorway but you have essentially presented them as your own creation which they are not. You have designed a pretty cool speeder there, I am sure than 30 minutes of effort and you could come up with something equally suitable. As far as advertizing your project... Well that's exactly what you did . By not embedding a picture you are forcing anyone who reads this to go to your Cuusoo page in order to see what you are talking about. Here is the EB tutorial on how to post pics http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18451 Follow the instructions in there and you can post any pic that is already on the web, which your project obviously is. Also flickr is free so I don't see what your issue would be there...
  21. Well it's all built, I did mess up 2 parts - I had 2 1x2x3 black slopes and they were supposed to be 1x2x2 but aside from that everything went smoothly . I figure I can pick those up when I place my order for the last 2 elements I need for MS... And here it is all nice and cozy with the rest - They barely fit on my shelf now, hanging over an inch on each side. I guess I have a couple weeks until I need to have this resolved or CC won't have anywhere to go. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread so far, this has been a very fun project Next up CC & MS, should have the parts for both completed in about 2 weeks.
  22. That's very cool! It definitely has a city vibe to it but has great interior and exterior details and, overall, a very polished look. I have been hoping that an official gas station would come out for some time now but, even if it did, I doubt it would come close to what you have come up with.
  23. They look great Wodanis! I didn't even notice the medium blue bows until you mentioned them, they go very nicely with the rest of the colors. So what next since you are done these? MS? I am already trying to figure out how I can add GG to my existing display. I am basically out of room on top of my 4x4 expedit. I can split PS and put each half around the corner buildings ( it would probably hang off the back of the shelf an inch or so ) but that only gets GG in. Once I have built CC and MS I need quite a bit more space. I will probably end up getting TH later this year too, I'm not super fond of it but when it's the only modular that I don't own I know I won't be able to resist. Wall mounted shelving may end up being a better option for me...

    The PorkChop Shop

Loads of nice details in this! I like your steep roofline, and the spears used to make a fence looks very convincing. Your MOC makes me anxious for the 1x4 masonry profile bricks to come out, it's a shame to have seems running straight up the walls the way it does.
  25. ^ I'm glad you are enjoying this thread, it's given me a lot of motivation too! When I started it about a month ago I didn't even have a concrete plan to build CC or MS This is the first time I have built a set from a pdf, I have to say - some of the colors are very difficult to discern on a computer screen. Specifically small black pieces, brownish red, earth blue and earth green had me checking my parts spreadsheet to make sure I was using the correct colors. I really wish they had the instructions available in a higher resolution, I am kind of surprised that they don't. A few pics of the build so far - most of the first floor is complete... I am very impressed with this build so far, surprising given this was only the second official modular building how detailed it is - especially compared to CC. I will build more tonight and post some more pics
