  1. I'm pretty sure they mean you can order up to 40 different types of parts at a time ( i.e. 'lots' if you are a bricklinker ). My understanding is that you can order up to 100 of each individual part. Someone correct me if I am wrong...
  2. I almost went for the GE as my first modular but thought it best to get the oldest available first (i.e. FB). Its been about 15 months since then and I still think the second floor facade of FB is incredible - it is one of my favorite techniques from any of these buildings. The pillars on the ground floor of GE in between the large windows are awfully cool too.
  3. I bought the monster truck transporter for my son when it came out, I'm fairly certain it was $29.99 USD retail...
  4. I'm liking the uptick in human activity, seemed a little desolate with so many cool stores before! I'll be checking back to see your dumpster haha (and bank of course ).
  5. It will be a great deal when they have arrived and I can see that they are legit They come from a seller with a very high feedback rating but the price has me somewhat apprehensive.
  6. Are the blue arches available via BnP? I checked the website today and they were showing as 'unavailable'.
  7. Thanks for the quick answers. I am assuming that Shop @ Home shipping deals don't apply to this service, I think I will get very organized before I make one of these orders so I only have to do it once.

    Legoville

Man I am so jealous of your Lego room Werlu Ulcer! I will be watching your city come together, looking sweet so far.
  9. I would go for the FB as well. That was my first modular, and within 2 months I had also picked up GE and PS. Prepare yourself because that's likely how it goes down with everyone who gets into this line. If you pass on FB now you are going to have to pay significantly more in the near future as its just been discontinued after a pretty long shelf run. Also, a lot of resellers have been sitting on these waiting for this moment to come, they will be patient and sell them for as much as they can get...
  10. From what I understand all of the 'Great Vehicles' are 6 studs wide and all are in the City theme. I don't think the racing car or monster truck are considered to be part of this, examples of part of this subset would be things like the various tow trucks over the last few years, cement mixer, fire truck, camper-van, tipper truck, flatbed tow truck etc. I would also note that, as far as I know, every single set in the 'Great Vehicles" line has had an msrp between $19.99 and $29.99 USD and come with only the vehicle, not as part of a larger set.
  11. Awesome Wodanis! I expect to see some great pics of these buildings in a couple of weeks So you have piqued my interest in BnP over the last week and I saw that service resumed today. I messed around on the site a little bit and noticed that they don't list any prices, seems to be sort of like you assemble an order and then they quote you a price after the fact. Do you actually know what you are paying for specific parts or do you just get a lump quote? I was eying all of those dark blue and medium blue bricks that I will need for CC and MS in particular, prices on BL for them are pretty high given the number of those bricks required in those 2 sets. Also - is there any way to get a sense for which parts may be discontinued or can you only find out when it happens?
  12. I haven't used it but it's a better selection of available parts than PAB.
  13. GE will be around for a little while, perhaps even until next holiday season. FB is done now, if you want to get it and can get it at retail you should pull the trigger ASAP.
  14. Sooooo... I found out what was in the first shipment of my partially back-ordered PAB order - drumroll - a Wild Style poster. Yup that's it, just the damn poster. How dumb is that? It took 6 days to get here too. Thankfully I received an email late last night that the remainder of the order ( that is, the entire order ) has shipped. From the looks of the tracking its coming from Europe, at least now I know why they charged me so much for shipping. I received several more BL orders, now I am only waiting on 4 more BL orders plus the PAB order. Looking unlikely that I'll be able to start building this week but you never know. Current progress - 1152 out of 2405, 47.9% almost half way.
  15. I have read some posts about a change in the coloring process a while back that has had this result. From what I read there it didn't seem like they got the issue completely figured out. I have noticed some subtle variation in coloring in my buildings as well. It would be almost impossible to tell except for when you have a large wall built with many pieces of the same color. How did GE cost you $200? It was retailing for $150...
  16. Hah, you made me scramble over to the BnP site but they aren't available anymore.
  17. I just went to check for going rates on the 1 x 8 x 2 dark blue arches, dark blue 1 x 1 x 6 pillar supports, Dark blue 1 x 4 x 5 half arches and 2 x 1 x 3 dark red slopes . And I could not help myself... I got 6 of the dark blue arches for $2.50 each, seemed like a steal so I had to pull the trigger. Pillar supports were $1.92 each but the same seller had the half arches for $.66. Dark red slopes ran $0.96 a piece. Now that's out of the way I need to avoid buying anymore bricks for CC or MS for a loooong time
  18. You should just go on the Lego website, there is a 'missing parts' function in the customer service tab. They will send the missing piece at no charge. I was missing one of the 2 x 2 trans-clear windows in my Palace Cinema and they sent it within a week.

    My Town Layout

One other alternative... You could eliminate the road plate on the near side of your park and move Market Street there. The open end of the Market would be looking out on the town green which would be kind of cool. Then you could put the Parisian Restaurant in the spot formerly occupied by Market Street with the patio looking out over the roadway.
  20. Wow that's hot! Awesome work on the market, interior details are spot on and the sliding door is a great touch.
  21. I think that's a good call on modifying the 5 high doors, price is one factor but I think its almost more important to maintain consistency across the different buildings. I want to see an inside corner CC, that sounds really cool! Have you built it in LDD? Also smart advice on the dark red roof slopes and large blue arches, I think I will pick those up soon even if I don't fully proceed with CC or MS in the near future.
  22. Someone definitely mentioned it but I'm not about to try and figure out where... That is one of those little details that I love about these buildings, almost makes it cooler that its fairly hidden once the patio is fully built.
  23. Wow, that's nice work! Did you sub a lot of parts/colors? I have done a little investigating with CC and I don't think I could do that alone for $600...
  24. Sure thing! My largest order was from Voyageur's Brick Company, other order that was kind of big was from Buddysbricks.com - These are both on BL of course. Hope that helps.
  25. Thanks for the feedback everybody! I will probably replace some of the nondescript items in the toy section with advent calendar toys from the last couple of years - fire truck, excavator, fire boat and steam train I still have bouncing around somewhere. I'm not sure about the location for the glass case on the 3rd floor either, I may end up keeping the case but moving the things on top to the floor below. I was also taking another look at the ground floor. I had not planned on changing it initially but I will probably change my mind this week, I'll come back and post if I do anything
