  1. @MKJoshA @SkaForHire You got any more info on these, or on any 'major' nations still out there? At least the name and some general things, so we don't end up with two sets of NPC ideas nest to each other... this would just lead to frustration.
  2. @Maxim I @Mesabi "As the large fleet enters the Tellvokian capital of Madin the Tellvokians promptly start their salute, somewhat apprehensive of the potential threat. The fleet returns the salute briskly, but to the expert ear, something is slightly out of tune. Although unknown to the Tellvokians on shore, on board the fleet the reason is clear: The ships are overcrowded with soldiers, who is constantly in the way of working the ship and its guns. Sailors and soldiers are two men to a cot, and half rations has been the order of the day for a week. Fatigue and malnutrition is starting to show. Animosity between the sailors and the soldiers have already led to several brawls across the fleet, and signs of sickness and scurvy are emerging. (68 teeth have been drawn this last week alone!) How will Lord Damaximus and his captains handle this crisis? And what about the renegade Corlander, Count Mesabi?" Options: Safe choice: Dismount and sell several guns from the fleet to make room for the troops. (25 dbs added to adventure treasury per firepower point. The firepower stat will be decreased for the fleet for the rest of the mission, and the cargo stat increased accordingly. Remember that 1 cargo point holds 10 men.) Risky choice: Resupply the fleet, and keep the troops on board or set them lose in port to find their own accomodation. Cost: 17 dbs from treasury per platoon. (Applies to all troops not accomodated for by the safe or elaborate choice!) Elaborate choice: Purchase a ship in Tellvok or purchase permanent lodgings. Build either a large property (or two medium) for accommodation or vessel(s) of sufficient cargo capacity to hold the troops. Note that your choice will have an impact on available choices in the future. Local design(s) preferred. Costs (to license) can be either taken from adventure treasury, or borrowed at local Tellvokian banks at a 40 % premium(Total sum will then be subtracted from Maxim's accounts rather than the adventure treasury). Building property on Tellvokian territory requires purchase of a permit: 50 dbs. Notes: Trador also has to contribute a build each turn (owner of the Margot)! In total, 1 build for Trador, 1 for Maxim, and 1 for Mesabi. (NB: Builds for the elaborate choice can replace one of three.) Mesabi and Maxim does not have to go with the same option.
  3. @Maxim I Three nights out on the Sea, Emanuel ran into a storm. Worst storm he had ever seen on the sea, and he was just floating along in a tiny vessel! He couldn’t do anything. Right as the storm started to calm down, he saw a log flying towards his vessel. It hit - and punched a hole into the hull. Ironic: that log was finest Mahogany, as Emanuel noticed with his skilled 'MAESTRO-eye'! (29 DB added to the adventure treasury) In all his panic, Emanuel couldn't help but smile a little - some weird kind of fortune... Bucketing out the rising water, with his other - not less skilled - eye he noticed a vessel - a type he had never seen before - on the horizon. Now it was time to decide... Abort adventure: Reverse course and head back to Trador - time to cash in on that log! Safe choice: Set course towards the closest settlement - Mesabi Landing - using the last spare plank to fix the hole will give you just enough time to arrive safely - and it's kind of very likely you'd be well received! Risky risky choice: Keep 'dem buckets swinging! Patch up your ship as best you can - using the last spare plank, spit, and that stuff stuck under your boot - then pray to Poseidon, and keep your course! Warning - there's a high chance of failure here, that might just cost you your ship! More elaborate and 'less risky than the risky risky choice' choice: Signal the strange ship and hope for the best! There's a good chance they are friendly and will help you repair your ship, but they might charge a few DB for that... but they could also be pirates - or worse! Note: In any case, the adventure requires one build to continue. If you decide on the elaborate choice, a total of two builds or three vignettes is required. Your story should clarify which option you are taking, but you are welcome to interpret the options creatively. Let us know if you have any questions.
  4. Huzzah, revamped Sir Dee has entered the stage - with a shiny new cannon and a shiny new moustache! Is that cannon mold - and that rather devious grin - a hint at you becoming a weapon producing business tycoon?
  5. @Lord Buckethead feel free to do so. If there's interest, I could also provide such a map, cleaned from any overlay, as a public .svg file (you would need inkscape to open it and make changes), where we could note new cities as they 'appear' in our lore.
  6. You guys realize there's still a huuuge map to discover. Is there land to the south to begin with? And maybe 'BoBS-China' is in the East? No need to define such things at this point. Every definition now only limits options for later development. Rumors should totally suffice here
  7. From a map I made a while back for a different purpose: Careful, laaarge: @Mesabi I like your Madin - sort of fits what I had imagined 'my' Tellvokian capital A'anbaal to be like. Funny you'd place your OL settlement in the exact same spot as I did If it's not too much work, could you change the name to Canastell, and make it 'smaller', just a safe harbor on a very dangerous coast, or use Arbia a bit north, as the capital of Guelph (New Oleon)? Feel free to use the non-OL stuff as inspiration, or completely dismiss it.
  8. Gentlefolks of the Brick Seas, here's another build - or actually two - ship-levels don't upgrade themselves, after all! Deadlines!!! No.1 - Next! Just a typical scene these days at the Department of Sailing Vehicles. People are paying literally any price to receive a shipping license - much to the liking of some rather greedy officials. No.2 - Ingredients Hull, Cargo, Guns, Crew... plus an able captain... I think I got my money's worth of ship ingredients - now back to the shipyards!! Does he realize those are actually field guns? I didn't realize we could talk! Oh, we can't. This is just a one-time thing for comic relief and story effect. This whole scene would be less funny if we didn't hint at at least one ridiculous flaw the Maker deliberately put into the setup of this MOC. ... This had to be done More ship-levels! Thanks for watching, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  9. In order to have a ship carry troops in the A-MCRA, do I still need to fill out a Troop Placement form, stating they are now 'cargo' for the time being? Or is listing them in the actual A-MCRA form enough? In case both MCRA systems feed into different troop overview charts (or whatever magic is used to track troops ), and this matter hasn't been decided yet, I suggest to use the Troop Placement form anyway, so troops are 'withdrawn' from the T-MCRA, and don't show up twice.
  10. Hi mateys, just a small build to increase Oleon's ship-level limit. The Duke's Delightful Dream It's not clear if it was the huge impression the Royal Philip had made on him, or whether it was due to the gently rocking waves of the Merlonic Sea, but on his journey to Londa the Duc de Corban was sound asleep in his bunk. And he had the best dream in a long while - more ships for La Royale! More ships of all sizes and colors!! Just... more... ships!!! He was in heaven. Not much to say about it... the idea came to me, and just had to be translated into a MOC The hammock was the most annoying thing to build, the shopping cart was the most fun. Thanks for watching, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  11. Adventure time, y'all! Not yet really sure how exactly to do this, but let's give the A-MCRA a try! Mission to Mardier Following his appointment as the Oleander ambassador to Mardier, Guiscard Emery de Beauregard - Duc de Corban, Secrétaire d’État de la Marine, Commandeur de l’Ordre Royal et Militaire de l’Étoile d’Ardros, Commandeur de l’Ordre Royal de Saint-Arltrees, Grand-Amiral d’Oleon - had no choice but to accept His Majesty's command to conduct a diplomatic mission to the High Court in Londa, Mardier. A new monarch on the throne - the ongoing civil war - the rather surprising defeat against the alliance of Eslandola and Garvey - there surely was enough to talk about. Welcome aboard the Royal Philip, Your Grace - or should I rather say Your Excellency - it's an honor to finally be given the opportunity of meeting you. I assume you've already had the chance to see Capitaine Brighi? Yes, Amiral d'Ancios, the captain was so kind to receive me and have me shown to your quarters. And thank you, it's an honor meeting you, too, monsieur. But referring to my appointment as ambassador will hardly be necessary. This hopefully is a one-time mission, I have better things to do with my time than waste it on banquets and negotiations. Apologies, monsieur. I understand. Also, I would have received you myself, but as this mission was scheduled on such short notice, we haven't had the chance to go through all the necessary preparation procedures quite yet. Especially with such a prominent member of His Majesty's cabinet aboard, matters of security demand more attention. I understand, monsieur l'amiral, I was told that's why the King's Guards are on board... But... what's the Red Cloak doing here? Personal request by His Most Eminence Highness, Chancelier Calida himself. He wouldn't let you leave Granoleon without a formation of his own Guards. For... if things went south, he expressed himself. Hmm... now isn't that too kind of His Highness. And my guess is the chancellor insisted, didn't he?! Yes, monsieur - he did. Hmm... you have any idea how many Red Cloaks there are on board this ship? I'm afraid not, monsieur, I... lost count - they all seem to look alike. Never mind, don't bother yourself, admiral, finish your preparations! Meanwhile I'll have someone show me to my quarters. As soon as you can, have the men set sail, I want to get this mission over with as quickly as possible. Let's go to Londa! My only concern is... the chancellor is rarely wrong. Btw, this scene actually shows parts of the Royal Philip's interior - just had to delete the grand cabin's roof and the starboard side for better lighting.
  12. The very first first-rate ship-of-the-line of the Brick Seas is Oleander! Glory to Oleon! Vive le Roi!
  13. Ahoy, ahoy, ahoy, finally and proudly presenting the first first-rate ship-of-the-line about to roam the Brick Seas: The 'Royal Philip' As one of the heaviest and most formidable ships-of-the-line in His Majesty's Royal Navy, the Royal Philip is naturally suited to fill out the role of an admiral's flagship. And flagship she is! At the moment, she serves under admiral d'Ancios as lead-ship of the Perennes Squadron, the one unit of La Royale stationed closest to Oleon's border with Corrington. During her active service of now almost four years, in countless maneuvers and fleet exercises, the Royal Philip has proven herself a powerful and – even more importantly – very reliable warship, with excellent sailing capabilities. A true asset. Rumors circulating in the Royal Court have it that soon she might be transferred to the colonies in an effort to strengthen Oleon's influence in the waters of New Terra. Such a step, however, would have to be very carefully pondered, as it would mean to noticeably weaken the nation's defenses against her northern neighbor. But regardless of where she will see service in the future, with her dedicated, veteran crew and her seasoned captain, the Royal Philip will surely fulfill the role entrusted to her – to guard the realm, protect the nations interests, and to proudly fly Oleon's colors on the waves! And some 10210-shaming: About: First of all, some numbers: 14200 parts length at waterline is 120 studs, LOA 171 studs, beam 29 each broadside fires 57 guns. Now, more importantly, no worries, y'all! Launching yet another ship-of-the-line is no act of aggression towards any of you. It's rather the result of some major confusion from my side. The upcoming Adventure-MCRA gave me the idea to send the Secretary of the Navy as ambassador to Mardier. But I got this idea only after le Monarque was posted and planned in for convoy duty, so I was in desperate need of an additional ship, and no lesser would be suited for such a mission. The Royal Philip is an enhanced version of a ship I posted several years ago, and her base is still older than that of Monarque, which is why Monarque's hull is smoother. Still it's here that I first made the switch to using hinge bricks instead of curved slopes for the part of the hull between waterline and lower gun-deck. Didn't go all the way, though, back in the day. But then, the better ship is always the next one. I hope you enjoyed watching, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  14. IMO, troops are stored in Cargo (poor them ), so you can either carry troops or gold. I'm not sure, however, how the payout in the A-MCRA works... more precisely, whether you have to bring your gold back to port, or win it 'automatically' once your MOCs/story are approved by the game-masters.
  15. I'd go with Astrapi - huuuuge sign on the door Aaaand once it's finished - let's license your room as a royal artisan or educational property
  16. And take care you only got as many platoons as your ship(s) feature Cargo 'points'... otherwise the game-masters might feed some of your troops to the fishes
  17. Correct IMO, they can only count as cargo, and thus will remain inactive until landed on an island. Otherwise, you'd be circumventing the 'no Marines!' rule/decision.
  18. Huzzah, Sir Gideon will be back! You did it, congrats on your new private kingdom!! *triggered* *looks at Trador* - 'No worries, Maxim... erhm... I mean '
  19. Yes, starting at 11 you'll need to buy additional levels to use the extra ship (levels) in the MCRA. No upgrade needed. You start out with 10 free ship levels, they'd be maxed out with a class 4 and class 6, but not exceeded, so you'd be fine without an upgrade
  20. Nope, not entirely correct: Faction warships: Factions always have three MOC and upkeep free class 5 ships available. These ships count towards the factions' ship level. The characteristics of these ships are defined as the faction licenses them.
  21. Close to finished WIP - prepare for a royal visit soon:
  22. @Elostirion If you'll have me, count me in, I might be able to help with designing symbols/flags, etc.
  23. 4th post in this very thread I like the idea of adding pics of troops or typical characters, as @Elostirion and @Ayrlego have created. So, whoever's got anything that we can add to the overview, just (post it and) suggest it in this thread, or shoot leadership a PM.
  24. Ach, this discussion hasn't been derailing or anything so far, so let's keep trying to find out what the majority here wants A different question for later is what of this we can sell to the higher ups and tag overlords So you did rethink your Era II priorities after all - goooooooood
  25. @Bregir Looking Grand and good, new headrails are fitting better than the old brick built ones Question: how rigid/flexible are those custom hoses compared to Lego originals (of about the same length), do they tend to keep their shape like Lego's, or do they just flex back and forth more or less rigidly? Also, better replace your captain, as he seems to have lost his head before he even took command
