AAA Battery Box (88000) vs. Rechargeable Battery Box (8878)
JopieK replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You are comparing 'apples with pears'. The LiPo has standard specs. The one for batteries doesn't so it depends on the kind of batteries you put inside. See here for info about the LiPo: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45963 And here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41779 -
Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
JopieK replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I don't think LEGO plays a fair game in giving such a set prematurely to a store and complain to the AFOL world about leaks that they caused themselves. LEGO is a very strange company.- 379 replies

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
JopieK replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
So at last we also have the PF motor available: http://brickset.com/...il/?Set=88002-1 @buddy: I'm pretty sure that they don't have it in stock yet. Dutch stores do not generally have the exclusives right away, the LEGO stores will have them earlier most of the time. Update: Well, looking at the brickshop.nl site: they got their own set as 'one of the first' in the world. So they have one set. They are very excited about it. They will also sell a complete train set PF: http://www.brickshop.nl/lego/power-functions/lego-power-functions-kit-10219.html- 379 replies

There are quite some nice minifigs in series 4. Today we got our series 3 almost complete :) Just the street guy and the space cyborg. -
Speed IR controller
JopieK replied to Matt The Tuba Guy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, good to know, but what purpose is there for us, do you have any questions, suggestions or something like that other than the 'wondering'? Most train fans have experience with the IR recEIver and the XL motor (it is used in the Emerald Express train). It works quite well. I'm not sure what you mean by controller. Normally we would refer to the remote control as 'the controller' I guess. -
And most trains are quite pricey!
-
Well, that looks really nice, I should try to make stickers for that! Problem with LDD is of course that there are constant costs so 5 of these are much cheaper than one.
-
You are not going to abandon your hobby are you? I find your mountain train build very nice!
-
Very nice CCOOK! I also like the stairs very much. You might just be a bit limited in that you can only unload the cars on one side.
-
Very nice! We also have a black / red one (but with red rails instead of grey, they are hard to find, but are available at bricklink in 1x2 version). In the background you can see the NS version (old logo of Dutch railways) of the Emerald. You can see that I have red 'door rails' in place.

Of course that is not a very handy option, but it will work. Cut the old wire and the new wire in half and attach the outer cables of the new wire to the two wires of the old cable. Heat shrinking tube and/or hot glue and voila :)

The Dutch store http://www.brickshop.nl/ says "Warning, there are no tracks and motors as part of this set", maybe they have prior Dealer knowledge?!- 379 replies

Official TLG Statement on Leaked Images
JopieK replied to BrickWild's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm guessing this also has to do with the Maersk train? I don't know what the LEGO fuzz is all about. Of course they don't want other companies to mimic their sets before they bring them to the market, but when I see the excitement about new sets here, that makes it part of the AFOL experience and even will help manage our budget, so it might even be that with less leaks some people will not buy certain sets when they already spent their budget on other sets. I guess if they want to rule out other companies they just need to focus on HQ materials (and not let them slide down like with the minifigs). Some weeks ago I saw some built Sluban sets at a gas station and boy, they are bad quality. -
Well, fixed some small problems with the prices and the bank account details. Next step will be to add even more stickers and produce stickers so that we can increase the stock...

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
JopieK replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well about the latter, they discussed it already earlier in the topic. It seems behind that large plates there will be plenty of room for batteries and an IR receiver.- 379 replies

It is indeed really nice! I might add the idea to my signal post.

It is extra sad if such a young people die. Too many 'important' AFOL's die too young I think. Familie, gecondoleerd met dit verlies, heel veel sterkte en het allerbeste.

Hi guys, our stickershop is open again, we had some internal issues for a while but now we have solved those (my girlfriend is now in charge of orders and shipping). We don't have all sticker up yet, but the shop works well now (after testing everything seems to work well). We also use a new store system that is more reliable and has more features. Have fun and enjoy it! Here an example from one of our previous customers. (found it using Google ;)). Have fun with it! Link to the shop: www.ministickers.nl/shop

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
JopieK replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I helped the shop attendant with my cheat sheet, she was very interested and amazed by the current system :) but, It seems that Dutch distribution in effect does have the dots, I didn't look well enough before... But some marks are very difficult to see (especially at the right side) (and my eyes are quite good).
