Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

The Boba-Fett short could work; there are some vehicles in there that could be remade. For the rest it's all about minifigs, I'm afraid... Saw it, hated it. -

Will this be pre-LEGOWORLD or post-LEGOWORLD? I'd love to see it -

Everyone can go asleep again: Hi HJR, I have not heard about this rumour, I double checked with our Design Lab and there are no plans to do a color change so this is definitely not true, Jan Jan Beyer Community Operations Manager -
@ jmagaletta : thanks for the reference pic ! I like the build, but the bulge behind the engine is a bit 'blocky'. Maybe you could try using curved slopes with some snot techniques in order to get a smoother look. I did that on my Z95 (non-clone wars by the way): Nevertheless, in all MOCs I've made, the back bulge of a Z-95 was one of the hardest nuts to crack...

Yes, I have some more pictures over here of the E-wing I recently made some alterations so it looks better / smoother and still need to make new pictures of that. Please send me a PM if you're interested in the Ldraw file of the E-wing. I trade each of my designs for either 1 storm trooper or 1 clone trooper :-) -
I once made a MOC of an Ewok village once, my worst SW creation ever: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1143540 What proved to be especially hard was: 1) make the trees without too many parts, which is rather difficult 2) Make the trees in a way that they look like, well... trees! Thin trees are rather more easy to make than thick ones; I rebuilt my trees 3 times, and they still looked like piles of poo 3) make the trees above the platform as thick (or as thin) as beneath the plaform. As you want to make small Ewok houses, you are tempted to make them thicker above the plaform than below... From my own building experience, the set would be véry, véry expensive due to the many, many parts required for building the trees... I hope I am wrong though :-)

Well, I can only speak for my own copy of the red helmet, and it's rather real...

Well, we've seen a green A-wing before, do it could indeed be workeable, maybe again in a (TRU / Target / Wal*Mart) exclusive set...

SW LEGO is always more expensive in Europe; I'm afraid you'll have to live with that fact... Check out google for online stores; there are plenty of them in France, and can supply LEGO at more reasonable prices than what's available at TRU or the big retail chains.. -
Why are you fanboys all forgetting Celebration VI? Would be a better venue to reveal new SW LEGO stuff

Yes, mine had some colour variation between parts as well (and not even different parts, but similar parts in various shades of white). -

Are you sure? The ones here in Europe most certainly are closed with a clear sticker on the inside, open and closes like a breeze... -
Errr.... Please know that some of the prototypes in the picture are at least 5 old... Not everything you see will in the end make it to the market Q: not even the Watto bust? A: especially not the Watto

Or... in order to avoid them being stolen, they were actually at the cash register of the store -
For those interested, here a link to the LEGO designer room with most of the sets identified: This is the link

I'd even say the Rancor looks like a jolly fellow
-
Iet ies so bieg!! Is that a dark tongue, or a shadow?

I really like it, and great that we see the final set already; I had absolutely not expected that! Small gripe: no studs on the top of the animal. In the Star Wars EU it occurs from time to time that people ride Rancors as they would on Tauntauns, Kaadu etc.: But apart from that: I love it Next up: LEGO Bantha's!

I was one of the first getting the 10212 Imperial Shuttle, and it did indeed contain chromed lightsabers. Might very well b that they used leftovers for the first run, and went for silver coloured in later productions (which would be logic, as the silver coloured ones are way less expensive...) I am not an expert, but I could see this could be rather difficult to make for LEGO. LEGO figures arms are pushed into the torsos by a machine. this means two things: the machine is only setup to put one arm in one torso socket at a time, and anyone ever taken out an arm of a minifig and pushed it back knows that it takes quite some force to do so. Were you to drill a hole beneath the 'normal' one in the torso of a minifig, it might be that the ABS plastic, now weaker due to an extra hole, get cracks once the 'upper' arms are put into place, and thus lead to a faulty product. Also, the machinery used for putting the arms into the sockets works at high speed. If the machinery need to put a set of extra arms into the torso, the machinery loses about 50% capacity, leading to production capacity problems, and LEGO wouldn't want that. Q: Can't LEGO just supply extra arms with a torso that has extra holes? A: They could, but as it takes a lot of force putting the arms in the torso, it's less suitable for kids. And believe it or not, Star Wars LEGO are toys ;-) Therefore I think the only save, cheap option for aminifig with extra arms is indeed this one: -

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
HJR-Holland replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Was it at SDCC last year where they showed the first ideas about an amidala minifig? Timing-wise I would not expect tO see he entire Set, but maybe some raisin cast etc of the creature, and not more than that... Hope I am wrong though! I seriously can't wait for a Rancor; I would never have guess LEGO would ever make one, but I guess with the new dino's, trolls and horses LEGO found a cost effective way to make animals. I just hope the Rancor will look better than the Wampa which LEGO once made; that animal looked more like Jerry Garcia than a Wampa... -
I have indeed thought about maybe adding the queue line, mostly to integrate the control room: Those windows would be quite a challenge though... Thanks for blogging this, it made me pass the 100 mark! Only 99% left to go

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
HJR-Holland replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Funny; years ago someone got banned from FBTB for opening a subject on 'worst SW LEGO set ever made'; I believe back then it was started off due to the introduction of the Twin-Pod cloud car, which still isn't a beauty... Albeit there are a few SW sets which these days do not make a deep impression, I think in their defence back in those days it was just that they were the best LEGO could do with the parts and budgets they had at the time. That being said, I think that both the 7127 and the 7657 AT-ST's could absolutely have been made better at the time. In fact, out of all the SW LEGO sets those are the only ones I tweaked to make them better looking... -
Must be a Sandcrawler then...
