  1. Looks like you're on a roll here distortme, another well built and amusing scene. Han's only means of escape could be by creating a bad smell! At least Lando would have saved on carbonite.
  2. Nice Midi AT-AT. The mix of greys gives the 'weathered' look.
  3. Nice vignette - I suppose it could still be pretty nasty in there for Han - cold and sticky.
  4. Great Rancor - as others have said the face could possibly use a little improvement but everything else is I also like all the little extras you've 'randomly' scattered around the base, bones, rocks and stuff.
  5. Well, there's a statement that will earn you both friends and enemies. Each episode is what, 20 minutes? - Watch some and see if you like them. Personally I find it a bit hit and miss, but I really liked the '03 series. There's discussion on it here.
  6. Is it really a Chibi AT-AT? I mean the way TLG's going if they make another AT-AT this could be the size of it (except with less cockpit space of course). But, seriously... this is fantastic - nice to see an AT-AT get the chibi treatment!
  7. Looking good so far. Nice to see a better picture of your X-Wing too. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
  8. I suppose if Lego is to release more sets based on the movies it's going to depend on the success or anticipated success of the 3D release. The 3D will have to be ground-breaking. In 2008 I got talking to a guy who runs a local cinema, he claimed to have been to a preview of forthcoming films in Amsterdam (I remember him going on about Kung Fu Panda & Indy IV). He also claimed to have seen a 3D version of the opening scene of ANH - he described it as 'mind blowing'. Assuming he wasn't just bs-ing me (he had no reason to), if the 3D was so good in '08 it's got to be improved further by now. Mind-blowing 3D = more cinema tickets = more Lego. Very true. I made my daughter watch the ANH & ESB first on DVD to keep the surprise element. Unfortunately playground chatter had already spoiled it, she already knew that Darth Vader was Lukes father and that Leia was his sister! On a positive note she's still too frightened to watch ROTJ because she's scared of what will look like under the mask . Sadly my son will still be too young to watch the 3D release but when he does finally see them he will be watching the OT first. Another interesting story element back in '77 was that due to Han Solo's dubious morals we didn't know if he was going to turn on Luke and Obi Wan. Of course this has since been spoiled by the special edition making Han shoot 2nd (or at the same time) .
  9. That just makes me feel sooo old! - Cheers Surely Star Wars being back on the big screen has got to effect Lego's releases? I'll be dragging my kids to at least the OT and it's more than likely we'll watch all six (I'm hoping to see ANH & ESB on IMAX ). This could well be introducing new generations to these films, if the 3D is done well, when kids see that Star Destroyer at the beginning of ANH they might feel the same way I did back in 1977 - hooking in lifelong Star Wars and Lego fans. You say you can't see yourself going, but once the marketing machine starts with the hype, I think it will be hard to resist. This is an EVENT and as such TLG will be selling sets off the back of it - no doubt.
  10. I wasn't a fan of the 7666 set - I really didn't like the blue printed SPUDs at the front. Sort of regret not buying it now I see how much it sells for on ebay. You've done a good job of replicating / improving the Hoth Rebel Base here. Fitting a Tauntaun through the hanger doors certainly adds playability and together with your Atgar Laser Cannon this will make a nice play-set for your son (and more importantly you ).
  11. I'm not sure if the 'control arm thingy' is too big or not - it's just nice to see it included, many MOCs seem to miss this out (as did TLG). Nice
  12. I remember my first MOC after a 24 year sojourn away from LEGO - it was ****! Yours however is great, it's imaginative, well built and funny too. Well done
  13. As far as I'm aware there's never been an element of time travel in any SW. Time travel is the holy grail of sci-fi, as soon as they introduce it they can mess with canon as much as they want and then say the time-line got changed. It's lazy and it's a cliché, so we can probably expect it at some point.
  14. I have never visited the pirate forum so was not aware of Lord Admiral Zorro's involvement in the EB community. Never-the-less, as a parent, I am greatly saddened to hear of Dieter's passing at such a young age. My thoughts are with his family.
  15. Nice shot workfromtheheart. I like the out-of-focus background and the colours. I disagree, in the reference picture Luke looks very young and thoughtful, he seems vulnerable and IMO the small mouth of the alternative head helps capture that feel (the freckles are unfortunate though).
  16. Thanks darth yogi. I found this image which gives an idea of IG-88's height. He seems to be stood on a lower level to Dengar so would be even taller - my version could be the correct height
  17. It explains how to do it here.
  18. I really like the one with sword Plissken great composition
