  1. Now it all makes sense! Stormies target practice on a duck-shoot (and on giant ducks too) no wonder they have such terrible aim. This is much better now we can see the whole thing. I like lots of little details here eg; the spiral staircase, the red tiles on the walls, Vader using a force-push on the clone and the pink chairs . Good luck.
  2. So this is the reason Death Star manufacture was delayed! I particularly like the karaoke & the carbonite 'art'.
  3. Nice one. I really like the giant Ackbar shaped sign. Looks like Ackbar might have tempted his singer away from Club Obi Wan? Good luck in the contest.
  4. There's a lot to like about this entry, the brick-built SNOT display base, the huge pipes in the bar, the ingenious thought bubbles and just the fact that it's the Mos Eisley Cantina! Good work - and good luck! What's your issue with us baldies?
  5. This REALLY made me laugh
  6. This is really funny. I like that they are all flower arranging while war rages outside the window. Nice minis (or micros) too.
  7. For hundreds of years Tatoonine's settlers had been afraid of the sand people. They feared their vicious attacks and they feared the unknown... what horror lay beneath their sandy robes? Whilst separated from his clan in the Judland Wastes, Tusken Raider Ay'Gotta Beegun feels a sudden call of nature. Since Tusken culture forbids the removal of clothing in public, Ay'Gotta decides to 'go' behind a nearby moisture vaporator in order to hide his sacred under-garments. When you gotta-go, you gotta-go! Faithful droid 2X-3KPR has reported a leak on vaporator GX-8#421. Whilst on his way to repair it, Owen Lars feels a sudden call of nature. Water is precious on Tatooine and the the vaporator can filter his 'waste' so Owen decides to 'go' on the vaporator. When you gotta-go, you gotta-go! This scene is set before they see each other. More images and rough stuff here when public. I wrote WAY too much introduction so here's the boring stuff if anyone cares... Prologue: Everybody knows that Sand People ride single file to hide their numbers. That's fine if you're attacking a Sandcrawler or raiding a moisture farm, but when you're just ambling around the Judland Wastes it's soo tedious. The scenery all looks the same. Sand, sand, more sand, some rocks and you can't even have a conversation with the guy in front. And that's how the trouble started for Tusken Raider, Ay'Gotta Beegun, he simply fell asleep. Fell asleep, fell off his Bantha, banged his head on a rock and awoke hours later, left behind, left alone. Yes, riding single file is fine, as long as you're not the guy at the back and you don't fall from your mount! Epilogue: When Ay'Gotta finally found his clan he had to admit that a settler had seen his most sacred garments, even though that meant banishment or worse. The Tusken's couldn't risk the people of Tatooine discovering what they wore beneath their robes so they had to destroy the evidence. Later that day they burnt-out the Lars homestead and killed Owen and his wife. By the time Imperial Stormtroopers arrived at the moisture farm looking for two droids, it was too late.
  8. I don't think I'm particularly knowledgeable about Han, it was your comment that made me think about it. I remembered that when I first saw Star Wars and Han shot Greedo in the cantina, I didn't know what this guy was going to do, maybe he was going to try to kill Luke and Obi-Wan! I should thank you for bringing back that memory. Then I thought about the way he changes from being selfish to being nice, which I'd never considered before. So I should also thank you for making me look at Star Wars in a fresh way after all these years. You play with lego with your boy then wait until he goes to bed before you put the scary bits in - doesn't sound like you're such a 'bad guy' Same for me, I watched that one with my daughter last year. I forgot about the bit at the end where the guy turns into a skeleton - she screamed and started to cry (she was only 7) I apologise in advance for your imminent bankruptcy.
  9. OMG - you must be gutted! On a selfish note, I was looking forward to seeing the finished thing - it was looking fantastic so far. Would you not consider starting again? In theory it would be easier doing it a second time. EDIT: I just noticed that Lazer_Blade made his first post above - he's joined just so that he can specifically ask you to re-build it... Come-on, you can't let-down Lazer_Blade.
  10. Whoa, a bit deeper than the bondage scene I assumed it was then. But Han's not so bad... I suppose he's not a particularly nice guy, he's the kind of guy that SHOOTS FIRST and asks questions later. But his conscience gets the better of him at the end of ANH and that is the beginning of his redemption. By the end of ROTJ he's turning out to be quite a nice chap. I would say Indy's character is very similar to Han... In the Temple Of Doom (1935) he's greedy and selfish, he is driven by the pursuit of 'fortune and glory'. Here he is redeemed because he is willing to give-up the treasure to save the villagers. By the time we meet him in Raiders (1936) he's turning out to be quite a nice chap.
  11. Wow, this is really cool, and funny - Yoda in the child seat of the shopping cart I love it! Incidentally, I have also been struggling to make a minifig scale cart for a Lone Wolf and Cub vignette... I've pretty much given up on it
  12. Good idea Danthebrick and nicely done. I think Han's had this trip planned for a while because he looks like he's been working-out. They should just relax and leave 3PO in the sea!
  13. I'm also unsure, is the use of the word 'force' referring to the the hand-cuffs that Obi-Wan is giving Han? Looks like some kinky bondage going on here, perhaps Han will wear the helmet and become Gimp-Vader. I DO like it, and maybe I'm slow on the up-take... but, I need more explanation.
  14. Very nice, and amusing - I really like the contrast between the stark Death Star wall and the twee table cloth. It makes me think of by Eddie Izzard. Good luck in the contest.
  15. I was involved in the 'heated discussion', nice to see you having-a-go at building digitally. I think what you're saying here may mirror my feelings. Although I can't comment on ML-CAD, what I like about LDD is that it still poses the same design challenges of building with real bricks ie trying to build the best model you possibly can using an imperfect medium. I mentioned previously that you (obviously) don't get the tactile pleasure of the bricks BUT I think you're still faced with the same mental challenges as building with Lego - so at least half the fun . I couldn't be wholly satisfied having just a digital model, so I always buy the bricks to build my designs, therefore, I also get the tactile pleasure - 100% fun ! I'm sure almost all LDD users find, as you have, that once the MOC is built it's generally necessary to make a few 'real-life' tweaks - even more fun . My Lego collection is growing nicely, probably to the point where I could skip LDD and build wrongly coloured test models prior to ordering the parts. But, LDD has now become part of my design process so I doubt I will give it up (I'll be downloading LDD4 tonight!). Nice Fiat Panda BTW - seems an unusual choice for an MOC - was it your first car?
  16. Thanks KielDaMan. Having kids myself, I find anything like this very upsetting, it's a parents worst nightmare. It would be a fantastic if TLG were to release this figure, but as a general release not limited. I'm sure even if just a percentage of profits were donated to charity it would generate a huge amount of funds. I doubt that the purchase of such an item for charitable reasons would be limited to just FOLs or SW fans.
  17. Now I feel bad for joking about it. It definitely should be released. EDIT: Now I've just read the link, I'm absolutely gutted. I apologise for my bad humour and ignorance.
  18. That's the first time I ever considered that an astromech looked like a, errrr 'love-aid'! I like it, good choice. Is the name supposed to be a pun, like Katie?
  19. Thank You. Each year it must get harder and harder for the boffins at Lego HQ to think up new 1 in 10,000 minifig promos. Why not help them out with your ideas? I'm not going to keep banging-on about my 'dream' chrome gold C-3PO with a chrome silver right leg (oops, I just did). Instead I'm going to go for a Chrome Silver Protocol Droid. BTW your ideas don't have to be chrome.
  20. Hey commanderneyo, I've been thinking of asking a minifig related question of my own and wondered if you'd mind if I 'hitched-a-ride' on your thread for a while? OMG: I've just become a citizen
  21. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to create such a good General Grievous in a CubeDude Stylee, but you've done a fantastic job! I like the 2nd version of legs best ie not the blocky ones. Even though the charm of CubeDudes is in the blocky shape, I think the thinner legs suit this character much more. I also agree with Brickdoctor that your landscape is a bit heavy on the studs. I'm sorry to say this, but I think hanging him upside down detracts from the effort you have put into designing him. I find the shape harder to define when he's upside-down. - Maybe it's my age?
  22. Flying into an asteroid field no doubt?
  23. How about selling me one for say, £87.50 ?
  24. Maybe they should make an app just for nerds like us?
