I agree totally with Legostein. This mash up makes for a very unusual looking space-craft but one that is also totally believable. The solar array leading to the engine then a separate cockpit makes perfect sense.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Praiter Yed replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm trying to make a Speeder Bike and TLG don't make the parts I want in browns, so I decided to make the Hoth version. I assumed they would be exactly the same as the Endor speeders except white, but there are inconsistencies in the reference material that I've found. Admittedly the reference is not great - I've only managed to find various images of a model kit and an illustration from DK. Can't find much on wookipedia either... The model seems to have a white blanket or pack on the back whereas the illustration features a heating unit, the model also has sturdier pedals. I'm thinking the illustration is probably most accurate. Many people here have far superior SW/EU knowledge than yours truly - so I wondered if anyone knew either where I could find better reference images or just knew anything about these? -
I had this idea a long time ago and meant to shoot it in time for the Royal Wedding, but I ended up working that day ... Clone O'Patra kind of beat me to this joke but due to some bizarre role reversal his was dirty .

Well done Darth Yogi! This looks so much like part of the Star Wars Universe that I can imagine an internet debate on whether it should be white or grey .

This is possibly the nerdiest thing I have seen so far on EB - I am insanely jealous - well done! But there must also be a lot of people who like Ashoka - I'm indifferent to her but my daughter thinks she's great. Plus, how many Ashley Eckstien initialled Ashoka mini-figs exist (possibly just this one)? - Kerr-ching.

I don't think you've made an megablocks of yourself. And considering that the word megablocks is edited to say megablocks in posts, I'm pleasantly surprised that Bane has gotten away with it. Incidentally the other word gets edited to 'megabluck'.

Of course I would give credit . I have tried the 1 x 1 clips on the version I'm building and they are WAY too small.

Considering that it's a child's toy I don't think TLG have made such a bad representation... actually, let's not go there. Agreed, if Lego can make the Hoth set as good as The Battle of Endor I will be one happy AFOLSW. You nerd.

Most entertaining review yet Bane. Younger fans should just £*€# off back to MOCpages where they belong!

Thanks Darth Yogi Being second in command has it's advantages. He commissioned this speeder personally and the Emperor doesn't even know what he's up to. You should hear some of the excuses he's given to his master so that he can sneak off to Endor for a spot of racing; "I must travel to the forest moon to oversee the installation of some double blast doors", "I must visit some old witch on the forest moon", "A small rebel force has penetrated the shield and landed on Endor. My son is with them." (bit of a coincidence that last one). And thanks.

This is particularly interesting to me as aside form my entry I've been trying to build a 74-Z speeder and have toyed with the idea of using 1 stud thickness at the front. I've been looking at using curved slopes and didn't even consider using the 1 x 1 slope which works really well here. I really like your nose section - you have been successful in creating a sleek and compact look. I also like your innovative part usage in creating the pedals and the way you have used the binoculars to hold the outriggers. But, IMHO your success with the nose section has caused two slight problems: 1. The rear seems overly long, I think if you could fit your back-pack/blanket on top rather than hanging off the rear this would tighten it up. Despite TLGs instance on hanging the back-pack off the back in the film they are on top. 2. Again because you have been so successful with the compact front section, the steering vanes look too large IMO. Maybe a 1 x 1 modified tile with clip would work here? I don't see this as being any more or less accurate than the traditional triangular road sign. These are just my opinions and perhaps you disagree, overall I think this is a nice speeder and to be honest I might have to 'borrow' some of your ideas on the version I am currently working on.

Dutch Kennedy's G-41 Speeder Bike
Praiter Yed replied to Lord Of The Fries's topic in Watto's Junkyard
I like the simplistic look and the fact that it could almost slot into the category of personal vehicle. Is this the missing link between speeder bike and landspeeder? -
Even with it's failings this will always hold a special place in my heart as the set that brought me out of my dark-age. Nice review Brickdoctor.

You did and clearly you didn't receive the recognition you deserve . Thanks Sir von Lego, that would suggest roughly 25 GBP - which actually doesn't seem too bad when you consider it's 10 GBP for a magnet set. I Santa Yoda but it's the black Astromech that's the clincher for me (expensive on eBay and BL). I need at least three advent calendars even if I have to sell one of my kids to get them (although then I'd only need two). EDIT: Just noticed Simonjedi already posted the £25 estimate - sorry Simonjedi, I didn't mean to steal your thunder.

This looks like a very simple and yet realistic design. I like the mix of greys and printed parts - it gives that SW 'lived in galaxy' look. I don't know if the colour mix is due to design or lack of parts but it works. The cargo compartment is a nice feature too.

You're BARC-ing mad DobbyClone - Sorry . I've just had a sneaky look at your version 6 BARC (was that the last one? - I hadn't seen it before). As with most vehicles of the PT/ CW I have to start by saying I'm not overly familiar with them so in no way could I get embroiled in the whole 'accuracy' thing. I will say that I think this new one looks better than version 6, much smoother and a tad more colourful. I would like to see more images from different angles though - in particular a front-on view.
-
Yes. Thanks again KDM, the door is a reasonable solution for a display model but not one I'd let my kids get their hands on. I've just ordered one of these from BL - I'm hoping that will be sturdier, allow the figure to sit lower and create a smaller mid-section... fingers crossed. Thanks troopmaker.

I'm not as familiar with the AT-RT as others but this is a nice compact walker.

That's a really good entry Mookage and nice SNOT work. If you add it to your son's collection, will it stay intact?
