  1. Ooc: sorry, that was my bad. I thought that was just player preference. When I get back to my computer I will update my official stats. To avoid future confusion, I am also immune to afraid which wasn't listed in the edited version. Again, apologies for the incovenience!
  2. After Darksten gets mauled by his target, he quickly downs a potion before continuing to attack. Ooc: I should technically be immune to blinding due to my amulet
  3. Darksten grumbles as he hears his arrow ricochet off the bottles at the back of the bar instead of hiring its intended target. Yet due to the same sandstorm causing him to miss, the assassin was oblivious to how close his adversaries blades were coming to him as he notched another arrow. Darksten repeats and stood ready to do so until one strike of his adversary risked knocking him out. First he would take out this damn swordsman, then the drunken sailor, before rounding on the bartender who gave them shelter...
  4. OOC: That is the thing, from what I see I didn't trigger the special. I took damage instead. Likewise, the sailors are said to be buffed but the remaining one isn't buffed at the end of the round (Again, unless I am reading it wrong. it's a mute point like I said, but I just want to make sure I am not going insane...)
  5. As Darksten gets hit again, he wonders why it hurts so bad. Fortunately the soothing magic quickly heals him back to full strength, letting the assassin repeat his attack Ooc: I might be mistaken (and given my record this quest it is quite possible), but I don't think Natnail was supposed to be encouraged. It looks like in round one he was accidentally encouraged instead of Wiermheim. It is a moot point however as it balances out with the heal
  6. A faint smile starts to form on Darksten's face as is second arrow hits its mark. Hoping for similar success, Darksten repeats
  7. Darksten's arrow goes wide as a result of his hurried release, leaving its sender vulnerable to attack. The assassin is just able to scramble out of the way as the drunken swordsman lunges forward, but still takes a gash across the chest. He quickly draws another arrow, and launches it towards the assailant hoping it will stagger him Darksten repeats
  8. Haha, well hopefully Darksten can join more of your quests then so he can feel a little bit smarter! It's been fun so far, so no worries. Lol, though I apologize to my counterparts...
  9. The words of his short companion are all that the assassin needed. Within a moment the bow was up and his arrow on its way. It wasn't as clean of a shot as he would have liked it, but his stress started leaving with it... Darksten attacks Natnail from the back row
  10. The mead finds Darksten as he enters the bar and the assassin smirks to himself as he thinks he just saved a few gold. The thought doesn't last long however as he is quickly drawn back into the situation by the actions of his fellow party members... Ooc: Thanks! Adding the extra prizes was very thoughtful and much appreciated!
  11. It was all too much... The insult of being in debt to a man half his size over a weapon he didn't want, his inability to find the clubhouse of the Court after studying hours in the library, and the repeated mistakes he had made in conversation painted him to look like a fool. All this added to the insistent nature of his fellow human hero to be overly aggressive caused Darksten to just about snap. It was clear he was only good as added muscle here... The assassin drew his composite bow and notched an arrow, keeping it pointed at the floor. His eyes however were planted squarely on the bar tender, daring him to pick up the blade in front of him. OOC: my stats are updated with the crossbow from Matthias and the mead I received in the lottery
  12. Though the assassin still finds the story a bit odd, he decides to keep it to himself. After all, he wasn't going to get paid sitting around questioning his employer. As the team leaves the club house and makes their way to the first stop, Darksten does pipe up and asks a question. "So what does Parvati look like anyways?"
  13. Not to pile on, but my ship "the Novitius" doesn't appear to be on there either... Sounds like another large hurricane kept a lot of ships in port! Haha
  14. I personaly am ok with one thread, but only if the first post(s) are updated with appropriate information as it comes out. If people stay on top of updating the guide at the front, than people won't have to search as much and/or potentially repeat questions. This goes for all threads where rules are involved.
  15. Darksten recoils a bit as the mutant corrects him, and he sheepishly focuses more on the words that the Vizier says. When Parvati joins them, the assassin nods and introduces himself. "I'm Darksten, your friend here was just explaining the situation to us. My follow on question is in regards to the bar. As it was the last place you said she was seen, I assume you have already visited there with little result. Were you there on the same day of the week as she was last seen, and/or will we be visiting the same day of the week? You see I am hoping we may be able to chat with some of the bar's usual visitors should the timing line up"
  16. As the guard strolls away Darksten cannot help but think that the whole situation was a bit odd, and should he have ignored the crowd and found out more about the corporal's job in the hovels... but the thought is interrupted by the outburst from his junior member and the proceeding rush of the party surging through the door to the court. As the...thing... before him told his story, he tried to pick out the clues. Yet he had a few questions. "before we run off to the bar, what makes you think your sister is in trouble? As you mentioned, you don't quite need babysitting so I assume there is more to the story... In particular, how long has she been missing and do you suspect a rival faction that you may have upset?"
  17. After passing the same burned out structure for the second time, it was clear to the assassin that his efforts to memorize old maps in the library had failed. Growing bored of wandering, Darksten catches part of the conversation when he came within earshot as the party turned a corner. Hearing the dwarf point out that he didn't know anyone, Darksten realized he really only knew a little about one of his companions. Keeping an eye on the passing crowds, Darksten pulls alongside the dwarf, and starts: "You will have to forgive me, I am Darksten, trained ranger from the Eubric forest currently under the banner of Heroica as an...eliminator of sorts. Yourself?"
  18. It takes a second for Darkste to register that he was actually being given an item in response to his comic gesture and he can barely mutter a thanks before the party begins to move through the gate... ...as the party walks through hovels however the trained assassin feels the watchful eyes on his back seemingly confirming his initial fear. He starts to slow down in order to put a few feet between himself and the rest of the party. This leaves himself in sight of the party, but divorced from the conversation, thus hopefully appearing to be alone so that he could have an element of surprise if the main party is attacked.
  19. As the gnome strolls up and starts handing out weapons, Darksten jokingly sticks out his hand hoping he will get a few gold as his share. When the new guard joins them, the assassin nods along at what seems to be the right points...pretending to miss the part about him killing a member of his profession. Darksten however leaves the choice up to the party if they wanted the guard to join them. He didn't know the man well, and couldn't figure out how it would look having them parade around with a uniformed guard.
  20. Darksten is thankful he was not in the middle of combat when the bright note finds him. He quickly jots down his name and flicks the response away with his confirmation of participation inside before returning to the conversation taking place.
  21. The assassin ignores the conversation going on between the old man and his companion and focuses on the female before him hoping to judge her age "You have a keen eye. We are waiting for a few stragglers who should be along shortly. How long have you been working this gate post?"
  22. Darksten waits for his shorter companion before he simply adds "I'm Darksten"
  23. Darksten returns from the library and gives the questboard a half hearted glance one his way to his usual booth. The site of his name stops him in his tracks for a moment before he quickly turns around and departs the hall
  24. Wow, thank you so much for everything you have done Sandy. I may be new to this game, and semi active, but I have learned a ton and had so much fun while I was here. Beyond just the administrative aspects of what you have done, you quests have been some of the most amazing ones (both content and photos). It will be a shame to see you go, but it is well deserved!
  25. Darksten catches glimpse of the new quest being posted and shuffles his way over. "Hmpf, I might not be an expert, but I can find my way I think..." Darksten thinks to himself before signing his name to quest #153. After quickly scribbling his mark, the assassin steals away to the vacant library to copy down some quick notes from the stored maps.
