Great work with the wall detailing, and as MstrOfPppts said, good job connecting this with the movie storyline without interfering with it. I think the only thing this MOC might be missing is some sort of finishing detail, like one of those fountain things.

[SoNE Ep. 1] Imperial Troops Have Entered the Base!
Brickdoctor replied to MKJoshA's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I really like the transition and the decoration in that foyer area. Very Cloud City-esque. I also like the inclusion of two different sides of Cloud City and the establishment of the setting with the addition of the tube with Luke's hand in it, even if that would be many levels below in the 'real' thing. For improvements, I think that some of the slight gaps in the bigger room make it look a little unfinished, and I think brick-built shapes are always better than stickers. -
I agree that the baseplate's empty space makes it look unfinished. I would try adding in some more curves and angles and elements commonly seen in the halls of SW ships, in order to avoid that problem you mentioned of it looking too much like a building.

[SoNE EP. 1] The Edge Of The City
Brickdoctor replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I think this is a great representation of Cloud City overall! You've got the big outer shell, the Cloud Car, all the different levels, the walkways, the luxury yacht... It's too bad the outer shell isn't tiled over, but that'd take a lot of tiles. Great work! -
I wish you'd had time to build more, because I like what I see here. Especially the platform; I don't know why, but all the ridges make it look really good in my eyes.
-
I think you've got a good start, and your broken wall is plausibly built. It is a little blocky and hard to see what's going on. Do you not have a better editor than MS Paint? Get Paint.NET or GIMP and stop editing photos with primitive brushes!
-
I like the idea of the space/sky battle, which is something I'd hoped to see more of. I think the entry could be improved a lot, though, through the use of a MOC A-wing instead of a (almost?) stock one.
-
I love the atmosphere of this MOC. Everything about this build just screams "Cloud City!" The chandeliers are terrific, as is everything else on the ceiling that you went the extra mile to include.
-
I like your solution for the vehicle problem with a little walker. I do, however, wish that some more focus was devoted to the setting rather than to creating a vehicle that could fit...vehicles don't always have to be the centerpiece of a creation. Looks like a half-pin slid onto the bar of a flick-fire missile, with a round 1x1 tile on the resulting studded end and the resulting bar end slid into the Exo-Force droid arm. (Do we still call those "Exo-Force arms" or is there a different term?)

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Final Day
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
No, that made sense. Get the protective action in as soon as you can to avoid being picked off by a ranged killer, then change later once we have a plan. Everyone who could've should've done it.- 109 replies

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Final Day

You claimed Neutral to someone in our core; I forgot who. It didn't automatically make you seem scummy, and in fact we accepted it, but it put you onto the list of people who were suspicious. After that...I went on vacation, was converted, and then I died, so I don't remember exactly.- 109 replies

Also, as requested, more PM quotes: (This game was insanely fun over PM. Probably the most fun in any mafia-type game I've played. Thanks, Pie and Kadabra!) You mean a grain of salt?- 109 replies

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Final Day
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Thanks for the game, Sandy! So...I was converted. Night Two, just as I was going on vacation and unable to get online often. I feel terrible for betraying Pie and Kadabra and swils and the rest of the core (Though it turned out that CK was a Scum, too.). Just wanted to say: All of you who were saying that I was Scum before then, you were wrong! You got me by the sheer dumb luck of the timing of the investigation!- 109 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

QM Note: It kind of breaks the idea of the battle, but since that's my fault, not yours, I'm going to say that it'll apply. -
[SoNE free build]Mission Command
Brickdoctor replied to Donnie Bricko's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I disagree with adding more color; I think you've got a decent variety of color already through the minifigs, not bright colors, but a variety of colors. Maybe some orange-suited pilots would make the MOC 'pop' and draw the eye more, but it seems okay to me. Reminds me of the atmosphere of the Yavin IV briefing room in Star Wars. I like the smoothness, too. I think what you could add would be more greebling: some vents, some consoles, some random small containers, maybe some wires leading to the big screen... -
[SoNE:Free build]Breaking and Entering,
Brickdoctor replied to Bkrosell's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
The color scheme is a little bit on the colorful side, but it is unified, so that works well. (Maybe only the red or only the blue with the greyscale colors would work better.) But overall I think the building style and the color scheme are cohesive. Improvements I would suggest would be the finishing, refining touches, things like smoothing over the couch or adding smaller bits of decoration and furniture.- 18 replies

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I'll get the index updated later today, thanks. To answer your question, your 'free build quota' ends as soon as the episode ends. So if you post a fourth free build during the entry period or judging period of an episode, it still counts as the fourth free build of one "set". If you post it after the judging period ends, then it counts as the first build of the next "set". For example, right now, free builds still count towards Episode I, until the winners are announced (And Bespin is awarded to one faction), at which time free builds will count towards Episode II. I hope that helps! -

...and Episode I: Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka is over! Thanks for all your enthusiasm in getting this project started. Judging will commence shortly followed by announcement of winners in about a week, and maybe a surprise or two to come also. -
"Not Leveling-up, not gaining Gold or loot, not improving WP or HP or SP...so, no, nothing important is going on."

I'm not saying that they'll avoid doing those things knowjng that they've been done; I'm saying that most likely whatever they try to do is going to end up being something that we've seen something similar to already.
