Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

QM Note: Realize that when I do unveil the Hurricane, any puns you've already used won't be counted towards any battle bonuses. -
General Discussion and Announcements
Brickdoctor replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Looking forward to those two, guys. I believe badboy said his next game would be Mafia School, so those of you who haven't graduated at this time will probably miss the next game (Excalibur Mafia?) but be eligible to play the game after that. (Jedi Temple Mafia?) (assuming you're picked for and graduate from the Mafia School game, of course) -

Yakuza Family - Confirmation and Discussion
Brickdoctor replied to badboytje88's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm sorry to hear that, ADHO. ADHO will probably be replaced by another player once badboy finds someone to take his place. -
Excessive roleplaying on its own is no reason for a lynch. Not when there's a more suspicious suspect in Yasu right now. Today, you've agreed with three different people in all four of your posts, and you've jumped on three different people as suspects, not following up on your claimed suspicions for any of them. (first Yasu, then Shiro, and now Maniko) You've done no reasoning of your own and you seem to be trying to agree with whoever posts a new accusation or points out something suspicious. Scum trying too hard to win the approval of others by agreeing with them, or just a sheep?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think topics such as BrikWars are meant to be discussed in Special Themes. All the LEGO Games (including the Heroica board games) are considered part of Special Themes.

I'm not sure if I agree that discussions about mechanics are more annoying than roleplaying, but I do agree that they are annoying in general. Discussions concerning the setup of the situation - number of Scum, relevance of pictures, etc. - they're all distractions. They aren't relevant right now, and, in the case of relevance of pictures, probably never will be. Speculating about the setup instead of analyzing behavior is a very sneaky way of appearing helpful when you're really being a distraction, in my opinion.

Round Two of Gregory vs. Durkon: Alf Gregory vs. Durkon - Shield >Durkon vs. Alf Gregory - Miss Durkon, you gingerly get up. You realize that you're still alive! You're ecstatic! You jump for joy! Isn't it obvious? That's the skeleton of a Pongcanis. A satchel is a lot of clothes for them.

I'd just like to point out that the above two statements by Maniko are just a bunch of roleplaying acting, and while it looks like she's said a lot and might have thought about what she said, she really just voted for Yasu without providing any real reason. And I don't think the second statement has anything to do with the situation, other than that it includes the really MegaBloky excuse that she can't answer Yoshiko's question because she's too far away for Yoshiko to hear her.

Happy birthday, Fangy!

You find a pile of scrap wood, some nails, and two barrels, in addition to the stones used for weight. All readily available and of no significant value. -

You find a few broken swords and spearheads that, while otherwise useless, would be suitable for the Slice N Dice. QM Note: I love the way you're playing this quest so much, Flipz, that I might give you an proton torpedo if you decided to invent it. (kidding, obviously - it won't work if you try) I'll get to building a mini version of Merlin and the Hurricane right away. Which reminds me, did we forget about those cauldron things again? -
Not at this point, no. But if you had made a good defense, you would not have been lynched. Norio pointed out that you could've been joking. That was a very plausible explanation, and I would have accepted it. But then, you went and tried to get out on a technicality, and then you tried to ignore the accusations. That tells me that you really weren't joking, because if you were, you would have just said that in your first post. That you went and said it after all the technicalities and ignoring makes me think that you decided to repeat what Norio said only after it became clear that technicalities and ignoring accusations couldn't save you. It tells me that it was never the real reason in the first place, and that you're making up or repeating what other people say when your previous attempt to defend yourself fails. I see no other reason why you would have waited as long as you did to say that you were joking. I'm pretty much convinced that you were lying when you said that it was a joke, which makes me suspect that your roleclaim is a lie as well.

That assumes that if Yasu was Scum, she asked for advice and payed attention to it before she acted. Speaking from experience from a past situation, sometimes Scum feel the pressure and they decide that the best thing to do would be to hurry up and say the best thing they can think of off the top of their heads. I realize what a big risk it is to lynch someone who claims a power role. However, Today, what I've seen from Yasu's defense is this: Oh no! I'm being accused! Let's see if I can get people to drop by repeating what Hanako said: technically this can't be used against me. It's not working! I know! I'll avoid the accusation and see if it goes away! I can't think of anything to say on my own! Uh, MegaBloks. Okay, let's see...I'll repeat something Norio said would be a plausible explanation. No! It's still not working! I'll roleclaim! Lots of people I've seen in past situations did that to avoid a lynch! She's done nothing but repeat what someone else has said, repeat what someone else has done in past situations, and avoid the questions. It seems a lot like she tried to get away by avoiding things, and then used a variant of acting like a Templie after being told what a Templie should act like. And again, the timing of the third thing listed above makes me think that she's just making up different reasons instead of coming out and saying them in the first place, so that makes me think that there's a good chance that she just made up the roleclaim. I know that I'm gambling a lot when I vote for Yasu, but her actions have made me think that she's lying. Sometimes you just can't play it safe. It's a risk that I'm willing to take.

QM Note: You really shouldn't have the knowledge of physics necessary to build the Merlin trebuchet, but since I've always been fascinated by that thing, I'll play along and see what I can do. What exactly is the Hurricane supposed to do? Is it like a more potent Mead? -
Brickshelf Confirmation Email?
Brickdoctor replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Brickshelf has been acting up for a couple weeks. First it was completely down for days, then it came back up, then it was up and down and up and down, and now I hear it allows you to view images but not upload them. I'd say that the lack of a confirmation e-mail is due to technical problems on Brickshelf's side of things, and I have no idea when you'd actually get it. In the mean time, I recommend you sign up for another, more reliable image hosting site, such as flickr or Photobucket. -
GM #11254 Note:I feel stupid for making the same mistake I corrected in your battle.

Despite the fact that we're not supposed to metagame* and the fact that you did Unvote me, just for further reference, I would like to point out that in a book called The Coming Darkness, a character a lot like me was very active and did pursue one inexperienced person (I think he might have been an orc, actually - I'm too lazy to check since the race is irrelevant ) relentlessly after becoming frustrated with that person's play. *As if this was a game.
-
So, to be clear, you're voting for me because I'm actively and relentlessly going after Yasu? I have to ask, what Scum would want to draw attention to themselves, constantly pursuing one other player? Any way you look at it, on Day One, it is not a smart move for a Scum to risk his life to lynch just one Townie. It's too great a risk.

Round Two of Gregory vs. Durkon: >Durkon vs. Alf Gregory - Critical Hit Alf Gregory vs. Durkon - Hit Durkon, feeling very confident, you blast Alf into the corner with a Great Spell that does 6 Lightning Elemental Damage. Alf, recovering from the blow, you wait until Durkon stands over you prepared to deal the final blow, and you slam the blade of your sword upwards at him, flipping him over and sending him flying at 4 Light Elemental Damage. The battle continues... Combatants: Alf Gregory, Level 13.5 Barbarian (played by Bricksandparts) Power: 21 Health: 3/21 Gold: 80 Inventory: Meteor Blade (WP: 8, Light), Focal Staff (WP: 5), Greatsword (WP: 3), Sword of Decay (WP: 5), Helmet (+1 max HP), Potion, 2 Venoms, Phoenix Essence, Remedy, Ice Bomb, Mead, Shovel, Magnifying Glass Durkon, Level 1 Mage (played by RPGer) Power:4 Health: 1/5 Ether: 3/5 Gold: 0 Inventory: Staff (WP: 3), Potion (2), Topaz (Lightning), Bedroll Both of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, move, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.
-
These are fantastic. You've got some great parts usage and just the right amount of color in all the right places.
-
I doubt that. It's pretty obvious that if Yasu survives, there is a very good chance that she will be protected and investigated. (and, possibly, watched)
-
Seeing as I have unlimited unvotes, and considering that no one else seems suspicious enough to me to warrant a lynch at the time, I see no reason not to throw this out there and Vote: Yasu (TheBoyWonder).

I whisper to the party, make sure Bluto gets his weapons back, in case he needs to fight his way to escape.
