Oh, so you're the reason there's a picture of a female Mandalorian's posterior atop the flickr widget in the blog's sidebar. Evidently, your creativity in variations on characters is astoundingly, enviably limitless. All Iām going to say is that I think you've done a great job on the facial features.

I throw a Smoke Bomb from the Back Row, and if I can, I attempt to bring Lord Marsh and Lord Guffington with us as we retreat.

I vaguely remember a quote from the start of the race along the lines of āClegg Holdfast, and his Volvec KT9 Wasp!ā, but the line appears to be absent from the script of the movie and I donāt have the movie to check. In any case, you've done a beautiful LEGO version of the vehicle. Thereāre so many greebles and little bits used, but theyāre all arranged in some very smooth, almost elegant LEGO circles. I also really like the color variation between dark and bright reds.

Ah, right, contest entry with a deadline. The church's cutaway does look good. I've seen some Town builders do the hinged walls that open up to see the interior; that solution looks very good, too, if you ever do something like this again.

Huh, I didn't remember that. Thanks. Of course, Celebration VI was a little later in the year, in August, so they might not do the same at Celebration Europe II. (They have that rule about trying not to let anyone know of their products six months or more in advance, I believe -- if the wave comes out in January, August would be okay, July might not be.)

That code is in HTML, which EB doesn't support. So, if you take the embed code: <table cellpadding="2"><tr><td style="border-bottom: 0px solid #fff;"><a href="http://500px.com/photo/39424060"><img src="http://pcdn.500px.net/39424060/34bda8bee9e8c0a1816c298a49631f99b812a428/3.jpg" width="280" height="280" alt=""Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me!" by David C (lightsped)) on 500px.com" border="0" style="margin: 0 0 5px 0;"></a><br/><font style="font-size: 120%;"><a href="http://500px.com/photo/39424060">"Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me!"</a> by <a href="http://500px.com/lightsped">David C</a></font></td></tr></table> See the code, '<img src="..."', that's an HTML image tag, and the source URL for the photo is between the quotes following 'src='. So copy that URL and put it between BBCode img tags: [img=http://pcdn.500px.net/39424060/34bda8bee9e8c0a1816c298a49631f99b812a428/3.jpg] And something I discovered: 500px didn't give me an option for the size of the picture to use, but if you manually change that last number at the end before ".jpg", then you can see all the different sizes. For example, changing it to '4', [img=http://pcdn.500px.net/39424060/34bda8bee9e8c0a1816c298a49631f99b812a428/4.jpg] ...gives you: If you still want the link to your page, then you can use url tags: [url="http://500px.com/photo/39424060"][img=http://pcdn.500px.net/39424060/34bda8bee9e8c0a1816c298a49631f99b812a428/3.jpg][/url]

Pricing the minifigures of 10236 Ewok village
Brickdoctor replied to absolutelylez's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes, I know, I discussed that in the last paragraph of my post: I didn't adjust for the higher prices because it's a new exclusive, but I also didn't adjust for the fact that a buyer might expect to pay less when buying them all at the same time. Whether they cancel each other out, I have no idea, but like I said, general guideline. -
Welcome to EB! A free ISD, that's pretty incredible. I'll move this topic to our forum for welcome topics, "Hello! My name is...".

Ah, I didn't know that. Sounds like a great resource. What about the width? I don't have as good a view of the studio model as you do, but 4-wide still seems too wide. (Of course, 3-wide is a considerably harder width to work with than 4-wide...)
-
Does anyone have a good shot of the cockpit pod from a different angle? I checked the usual model-making websites I look at, nothing. I checked The Art of Empire Strikes back, but it only has one shot of the studio model, and that's the same one cavegod posted here. (Albeit much bigger, of course.) The other two pictures in there are a couple of Joe Johnston's sketches. Wookieepedia's best picture of the size of the pod is one of those drawings from one of the Essential Guides, and I don't trust those. Anyways, I think a 4-wide pod would be too big. I think 3- or even 2-wide might be better. I'm looking at the studio model shot, and I think the pod should be at most 6- or 7-long for this model. From as much as I can tell from the one studio model shot, it looks like the width of the pod should be at least less than half of its length. (In regards to reference sources, the Toromodel flickr stream had nothing, Starship Modeler had nothing, Modeler Magic had nothing, Forbidden Plastic appears to be down, and a Google search found nothing.) Wait, never mind. I forgot to check Empire itself, and there's a perfect shot of the first transport flying past an ISD. The copy I have on my hard drive is the original theatrical version on DVD which was in turn taken from the LaserDisc releases, which means it's not the greatest picture quality, but the pod is clearly a bit skinnier than the gap between the sides of the main spine. cavegod used two of the 1x3x2 half-bows, with a plate separating them, which is a 9 plate- or 3.6 stud-wide gap. So I'd go with a 3-wide pod.

I did already mention that to JimB. Problem is, he only has two, so we don't want to use one unless we're confident that we can win (Even without those effects, we still need to get good rolls.) and unless we know that this is actually a battle we want to fight.

Pricing the minifigures of 10236 Ewok village
Brickdoctor replied to absolutelylez's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Okay, time for some research! (Prices in USD as shown by BL.) The Wicket from 8038 goes for about $7 on BL. This is a newer version of him, and the old one is unique to its set also. 8038's Paploo appears to be the most generic-looking of the more recent Ewoks (assuming the Ewok warrior is not as in-demand as he is), he goes for about $4. Chirpa and Logray are about $5 each on BL, so I assume Teebo will be similar. This version of the Scout Trooper is $2 each on BL. This version of the Stormie is $5 each on BL. The Endor Leia from 8038 is only worth $5, but the more recent and similarly exclusive Celebration Leia is $10. I assume Luke will go for a similar price as Leia. This version of Han is $5. The vest commando is $2. The other commando is $3. R2 is $3. Reddish brown Chewie is $2. And this version of Threepio is $4. That adds up to $79. I didn't adjust the prices for the fact that many of these will be new and exclusive minifigs from a big D2C set, so that might increase the prices. At the same time, I also didn't adjust for the fact that you'll be selling all of these in one batch, so you might charge a bit less for that. (and/or any buyers might expect to pay less when buying them all at the same time) So perhaps $70-$80, for a general guideline? -
The original Level isn't crossed out and shown next to the Level in Ladybug's stats, though. I guess we have to wait for Zeph to tell us which Level is written there.
-
I have no idea. I don't remember any secret rooms in the original other than the Tantive IV level. I'm pretty sure that was unlocked through True Jedi, because I know I played it.

Pricing the minifigures of 10236 Ewok village
Brickdoctor replied to absolutelylez's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've slightly changed the title, from "Selling..." to "Pricing...", as I didn't want it to sound like you were selling something on EB outside of the BSTF forum. (and from an unreleased set, too) -
They won't; they don't deal Free Hits. They'll only attack us if we attack them. (Presumably because this scene is so chaotic that they can't tell who's who.)
-
It's been six years since we first saw that set? Wow. I'm pretty sure that was before I started to seriously follow LEGO rumors. I was still in my 'newb lurker' stage.

"I'm not seeing many ways we can avoid taking a lot of Damage from Free Hits, Master Hybros. "The best plan I can come up with is for me to target the Dark Minion, then you target Lord Chauncey, and then you target Madame Ladybug. We pray that we get favorable rolls. Then I take a Free Hit from the Light Minion, you take Free Hits from Lord and Lady Marsh, and I take a Free Hit from the Dark Minion. You would take 9 Damage and I'd take 8 Damage. You would have to target an enemy that's Lucky, you would not get to target anyone that can be Assassinated, and we would not be able to keep up the same plan for very long. We would have to include a conditional action, that if I rolled an Aura, you would throw a Smoke Bomb. "That's the best course of action I can think of, though: to do that and see what happens, and if the Round doesn't go well, to throw a Smoke Bomb and try to grab Lord Guffington on the way out in the next Round."

"Master Hybros found that Lord Marsh possessed evidence that he, Lord Marsh, was contracted to carry out or has already begun to carry out an assassination." I look around to check to see where Guffington is.
