  1. I think that would be too complicated and we're (supposed to be) trying to keep these rules relatively simple. Exceptions to the basic rules are hard to remember after you've been playing a game for almost two years. This is an unofficial rule that I've always followed. I've never dropped an artifact with SP higher than 5 (The Robe of the Elven Necromancer), and I've never dropped an artifact with another special effect that had SP higher than 3. (The Mail of the Renegade Commander)
  2. Thanks, everyone! Regulators are primarily concerned with making sure posts are in the right place and that the indices stay updated, keeping the forum or subforum neat and orderly. Moderators on EB function like mods on other sites; they make sure members follow the site guidelines, in addition to helping with the regulator work. You can read all about the different ranks here.
  3. I think I went and found a cheat code to get Invincibility to finish the minikits and True Jedi on the Podrace and Gunship levels.
  4. "I'm almost there! I'm going to beat the timer!"*other player hits an obstacle and slows down* *screen pulls you back* "MegaBloks!"
  5. "Very well. Good luck, Master Holla." I follow Hybros.
  6. "Got it. I could try using Diplomacy, if we can think of a plausible reason for your having been in her room that doesn't mention what our actual mission is. I'm not sure how to explain your searching her room without saying something about our being hired by Lord Guffington as security or investigators."
  7. Nowadays, indirectly, yes. Sometimes I watch a movie, and then I get inspired to build an MOC from the movie, and while building that MOC I might buy a set because it has a lot of parts and minifigs I can use. But I can't really say that I've been inspired to buy a set to have the model of something from a set, at least not in a few years. It's probably a combination of the fact that I build any models I want, the fact that I've watched and read enough about Star Wars and its universe for long enough that I'm past the stage where I discover subjects in the movies prominent enough to be suitable for sets, and the fact that as a FOL I've already gone through the stage where I bought the majority of the vehicles in sets I wanted. (Most of which have since been improved, but that doesn't interest me anymore since I'm going to part them out anyways.) But between, I think, 2004 (when I seriously became interested in Star Wars and its EU) and 2009 (when I started to MOC a lot more), I definitely would be inspired to buy a set (or wish that such a set was produced) after seeing the subject in a movie.
  8. "As far as we know, Lady Felix is not involved in the plot, right? She's only angered because you disturbed something that belongs to her while you were investigating Lord Marsh's room?"
  9. "Perhaps we should move outside to the courtyard to discuss this. I am unsure if we have enough time to do battle outside and get back inside before the time when Lord Guffington is supposed to collapse, though."
  10. Charging Gold makes sense mechanics-wise, but I'm not sure if it fits in in the storyline. You switch classes by going to the training room in Heroica Hall, and everything else in the Hall is free for heroes. I think it would make more sense to have them give up XP in order to switch after a certain number of switches. (Your first class switch after advancing to the next tier of classes is excepted, though, to prevent players from trying to switch to a class that requires a certain among of XP and then dropping below that amount after the switch.) "You've switched classes so many times that it has become hard for you to master the additional skills of this class. Being not as experienced with this class, you must give up 1 Level/5 XP/something like that."
  11. That's not what I said. I said that the model couldn't hide part of the stands from view like the Star Destroyers can, and the stands would be really tall.
  12. That picture is sepia-toned. It's definitely not an accurate representation of the color.
  13. Yes to both! Then Knights like me don't have to spend 210 Gold just for 1 SP when we don't play Gold-gaining classes. And I've always thought armor pierce/ignore SP was one of the least creative ways to challenge a tank. Yes, I'm biased and I'm probably a good reason not to buff SP. About class switching, could do something simple like negating the effects: "If you switch back to a non-Knight class, the SP of the artifact drops to its original power and you are no longer immune to Ignore SP." Someone bought a Witch's Talisman and then decided to sell it back to Fabian before actually making the change to Witch... I don't remember who.
  14. I think you've done exceptionally well in this steampunk MOC not just at integrating the steampunk machinery that looks like it could work, but in a smaller vehicle like the AT-RT, you've interpreted shapes of the ‘real’ vehicle as themselves being steampunk machinery. The smokestacks instead of antenna (which could be a little taller, almost like on Mississippi paddle steamboats, but still genius), the boiler has the side vents in the same place as the ‘real’ AT-RT has ribbing (though I’m not sure I would want to sit directly on top of the black metal of the boiler ), the Gatling gun instead of the repeating blaster cannon. And I love the use of lots of hoses and pistons, the perfect way to steampunkify the way this walker is able to move.
  15. I think it's just maintenance on the other vehicles. They're under gantries arranged as in a hangar bay, not an assembly line.
  16. Hastening makes sense for tanks; you can reduce those Free Hits by attacking more, and if you roll Damage while targeting an enemy that you would've taken a Free Hit from anyways, then you just got the equivalent of having your SP applied twice to the Free Hits. (If all the enemies have abilities or Specials such that you don't want to risk attacking them, then you can use the extra Turn to heal as Zeph suggested.)Although in my case, I don't use them that often, because I do just about no Damage, I can usually tank the extra hit without a problem anyways, and I usually don't want extra chances to roll Aura.
  17. We can't change anything without Sandy's approval anyways...
  18. As I told someone else with a similar dilemma, I'm an OT fan, but I think the gunship is one of those vehicles that every LEGO Star Wars fan should own at least one of. If you want to get Jabba or one of the minifigs in the palace, maybe go for that, but otherwise I'd get the gunship.
  19. Ah, I see what you mean. WP: 5 is usually my starting point, and then for Quest 31 I adjusted that because of the Level of the players. (Except for the Sword of Ancestral Hatred which stayed at WP: 5, but since it has the ability to permanently increase WP I would've made its power lower than all the other drops no matter what their power was.)
  20. 31? I don't remember doing that. I did do it in Quest 4, but in 17 and 31 I tried to drop more of the specialized equips with lower Power that players would have to upgrade themselves to a higher Power later.
  21. I would agree with more squishyness for non-Knights. The argument against that has always been that a Knight's advantage in SP is maintained by being able to upgrade his shield, but SP-granting artifacts are becoming common enough and players are making enough money to buy lots of them and stack them. The average levels of SP that are exclusive to Knights are up to around 8+ now.
  22. Oh, definitely don't tile over on top of the studs; I was only wondering if you could replace plates with tiles, because in the case of the Gallorfree there is actually a detail (those bumps) that the studs could represent if they were used sparingly. As for the bands, maybe it could be as simple as orienting the differently colored patches vertically. (I think that's what Lobot was suggesting.) Tiling over in bands would be too high and mess up the curvature, as you say... I can think of ways to do half-plate off sets, but they all involve a SNOT support structure beneath the hull and brackets or headlight bricks, which will definitely not be as strong or as thin as the plates you're using now.
  23. Ah, I see. Yeah, I would do less dark tan. If the ship is normally white, then the tan is probably spots where the paint is dirty, and grey is probably the spots where the paint has worn away. So I would minimize the use of large grey areas. Oh, and studs: I don't know how many studs you've covered up, but it looks like there are plates in there that could be replaced by tiles. Studs should definitely be used for detailing, but I think there are too many of them right now, and the Gallorfree is a bunch of panels with some smaller bumps scattered around. There're a lot of those bumps on the 'real' craft, but not as many as there are studs on your model. I think the use of tiles will both make the hull look more like its a lot of panels and help with what Lobot mentioned, in making the bands more evident.
  24. Looks great so far. What are you basing the weathering on? I know the white-tan-bley color scheme is typical for MOCs of this ship, but it looks a little... chaotic, maybe, is the word? I think there might be a bit too much of the weathering. As much as this should be a dirty, 'used universe' ship, I think I'd like to see one of the secondary colors in the weather (bleys or tans) be used more than the other, with the remaining color used a little more sparingly. So there aren't two secondary colors competing to draw my eye to themselves when I'm looking at the model. (I'd go with tan as the dominant secondary color for the extra amount of color it adds compared to bley.) And at the same time, the two colors take some of my attention away from the white, which makes it harder to see the overall shape of the craft.
