I might...How long is Quest 69 supposed to last? I don't really want to delay Quest 77 any longer, in order to avoid conflicting with being busy in real life on my end. There's still more than a week left to sign up.
-
You see a cloaked figure enter the Hall and head straight for the Quest Board, clearly trying to avoid the eyes of the heroes there, black hood obscuring facial features. "Hah! What's this?" Current Sign-ups for Quest 77: Your Elves are Better than Ours: Arnulf Bishop, Level 13 Rogue (Shoker86) Alexander Vandagant, Level 15 Hunter (Wedge09) Elgar Gligin, Level 23.67 Druid (Jedi master Brick) Throlar Wineghilm, Level 1 Knight (Lord Duvors) Johon, Level 25 Raider (Bricksandparts) Drake Flamerobe, Level 11.5 Knight (xxlrocka) You glance around at the heroes in the Hall, wondering to what the figure was referring (you figure it was probably the inexperienced dwarf who signed up for an elven quest that specifically stated that elven heroes would be preferable), and when you turn back to look at the Quest Board, the figure is gone.

It definitely was an ugly and unnecessary addition of a vehicle to Star Wars canon. Wookieepedia says it was based on a pencil, but doesn't have a source for that. I don't think there's a chance it'll become a set, anyways, thankfully.

You were a Warden (For a little while. Once or twice. Sort of.), you should know that Critical Hits are often much better than Shields.

Intentional General Grievous quote? Can't quite tell; the wording is slightly different.
-
I've always thought that even though the parallel/alternate universe idea preserves the original storyline, it's still not an acceptable solution because it still shows a lack of respect for the original canon and an unwillingness to work with it. "I think the original storyline is bad and/or I want to do my own thing, so I'm going to appease the fans by technically preserving the original story, but I'm just going to keep doing whatever I want anyways." Technically, it presents a solution by keeping the older production(s) canon, but it doesn't actually fix what was the problem in the first place: that the writer isn't continuing with the original storyline.

The starfighter itself is non-canon. Considering that every minifig is most likely from the show and that I don't see any more sets coming from that show, the minifig selection of that set makes sense.

I'm sure it's real and it appears to be for sale now. However, I suppose because it's not being published by TLG but by an independent FOL (it appears), there isn't as much information about it that I could find.
-
Maybe he's using up all his computing power trying to run handwriting recognition on his Heroica notes. As long as you have the building skill, I don't think the program you use to make the set is as important as how it's rendered. LDD sets already look pretty good in LDD -- after all, the quality of the build matters more than the rendering -- but if you've got a quality build, it'll look a lot better rendered in something like POV-Ray.

Not an official release, but does anyone know anything more about this book? I didn't find much, even on the author's flickr. Found on JediNews.

I could definitely see the Cloud Car as a separate set in the $19.99 range if multiple Cloud City-themed sets are released over a few waves. We've gotten starfighters with named characters in them around that price point before.

On EB, we require everyone to post in English. Of course, you can always PM someone to communicate with them, and do so in any language of our choice. Thanks!

It can be frustrating. I think getting a brick where you want it in LDD is a matter of using the program often enough that you get a feel for exactly where to put the mouse and orient the camera to get the brick to go where you want it to. And there's always scaffolding.
-
LDD is easier to learn how to use and easier to position bricks. LDraw is more flexible and can handle more bricks. But LDD will do the majority of techniques you want to use once you know what tricks need to be employed. (floating, scaffolding, editing the LXFML, etc.)

I'll split these posts off into a thread about Bricklinking 10129, since that appears to be your project and not Lobot's.

OoC: Are the greyed out items in Scuba's inventory the ones that don't get taken back in time? (I want to know how badly it would affect our stockpile of consumables if Pandy rolled poorly as was KO'd.) Also, would we be allowed to reroll a Round using Lady Felix's Amulet? "If Captain Holla is using a Neutralizer, should we target Madame Ladybug twice while I take Lord Chauncey's Free Hit, or should I throw another Bone?"

I would go for 10030 next, too, even if the cost makes it take longer. I've only once seen it in-person, but it's always struck me as perhaps the most impressive of the official UCS models. (I think it was in '02 that there was one of those oversized catalogs and it had a full page spread of 10030; that's always stuck with me.)

That was a really quick boss battle. In regards to LDD, it is possible to make the sets look really good in LDD. I've done several for Flipz, and I daresay they look almost as good as my physical ones, and are more impressive because of the size of sets I can build. Most architecture techniques translate well into LDD. (Even the legs and hands; you can separate those from the rest of the body by editing the LXFML.)

A reminder: We have topics in Culture and Multimedia for discussing Star Wars in general and Star Wars: Rebels. This topic is for discussing sets you think we'll get or which you want to see made, so discussion of set possibilities in future Star Wars productions is fine...but this topic is drifting towards discussion of what you think of Rebels and Episode VII. Stay on topic, please! Thanks.

Oh, right. I do only vaguely remember that now that you mention it. November of 2011? Wow, that was Elphaba's first visit, right? I didn't realize how early it was in the game that gems had been devalued such that someone had an extra that no one wanted. I thought it was at least a few months after that time.
