  1. I like the minifig combos for the Kingdom of the Red Lizard. Reminds me, I should probably decide where Patuqun is...
  2. "...fine." The doors are opened, and you are led inside, though you are not forced to disarm — whether because the elves don't fear you or because they trust you as one of Nerwen's companions, you do not know. You are led upstairs to a hall, gleaming in a combination of the morning sun and the ethereal light from somewhere above, supported by architecture that has merged into trees. "I have not dealt with dwarves in my hall for as long as I have commanded this army... If you must be here, speak now, and quickly." The Party under the Marketplace: "I do not believe that I ever said that I would not allow armed elves to negotiate with me here, provided they could not reveal my location, of course. I am, in fact, putting some amount of trust in the elves if I enter their keep. I have no idea what kind of strength or manner of traps they possess inside their fortress; their keep could easily become my tomb." "Come back tomorrow. I will assemble a group of the citizens who fight with us. My story is a simple one: I inherited a shop in R'kilf, I managed it well, the Shadeaux took notice and hired me, and they sent me back here later." Looking in the crate and around the body you find: Big Apple - Permanently raises Power by 1. 3. I see. Sorry. Carry on.Now, on the other hand, if anyone were to apologize or make excuses for their behavior in discussion that was outside the situation in the Hall — not that I would know about such things, and it's not as if this is some sort of game — then that would be suspicious to me.
  4. I wouldn't say he did anything wrong. He didn't do anything to contribute, but he also didn't do anything particularly scummy. I don't think you can expect everyone to contribute something right away; it's the ones who try to look like they're contributing but aren't that I find suspicious. Usharnam just introduced himself. He didn't summarize, he didn't try to state an excuse, didn't use IIoA... Not helpful, but not particularly scummy...yet.Realizing that I'd missed something that was probably an obvious concept, and having confirmed with god that I could change my action later, I take Cover.
  5. Not necessarily. Protecting might be possible, and successfully doing nothing is a whole lot easier than successfully killing someone. I don't like trying to predict what the scum will do and making a decision based on whether or not he's alive Tomorrow. It just leads to a big mess of WIFOM.
  6. Absolutely, of course you would. You would be trying to show that there's a good reason not to kill you that isn't connected to your behavior. I've often been in situations like this where someone about to be lynched would claim a role with power — Cop Town Watch, Doctor healer, Vig trained warrior, etc. — what you're doing isn't unusual for both scum and Hall-ies.
  7. He has explained himself; he's said that he was insulted and he is inexperienced. It should be noted: the inexperience explanation is one that would make sense. The insulted explanation, not so much. I don't think any of us doubt that he is in fact inexperienced; we just don't know if he's inexperienced town or inexperienced scum. (Though with the flailing I'm leaning towards scum right now.) However, one of the reasons we — or at least I — continue to pursue the case against him is that while inexperience can explain his behavior, it can't excuse his behavior, and getting rid of someone behaving as he does at this stage is not a bad thing, even if he turns out to be a Hero.
  8. About twenty-six hours. It's a forty-eight hour Day and a forty-eight hour Night.
  9. Something that actually shows you care about the town and not yourself. Giving up and refusing to help is a clear sign that you do not have the town's best interests in mind. Even if you die and turn up a Hero, if you have not contributed anything, then I will be satisfied with your death at this stage of the situation, having gotten rid of an unhelpful source of distraction and confusion.Additionally, your ignoring Skrupp's argument against you and then avoiding it later by saying that you were insulted is noted.
  10. "Is this yer confession? No good man would ever give up on tryin', sayin' that ya' will is nothin' but one of the stages of flailin'. And yer last note, is that a threat? Ya' better start comin' up with explanations pretty damn fast, ya' just keep on fillin' out my suspicions and somethin' will have ta' be done." Indeed.
  11. So... I guess we should check back with you once our victory is assured, hopefully in several Days, when there is no longer any reason to even use the Magnifying Glass anymore? If you're waiting for the perfect plan and you're unwilling to risk anything, then you're in all likelihood not going to be performing any helpful actions throughout this situation. If this objection continues, I suggest we give Retak 10 more Gold; then all the Gold he's supposed to spend will be ours, not his, and he will have no excuse not to buy the Magnifying Glass.
  12. So... find other Hall-ies, form a Hall-ie core, find the scum, kill the scum... isn't that just another way of stating the basic townie goal of every situation like this?
  13. I don't find it particularly suspicious at the moment, but I'm just curious: did Pauline Jillian Boyle send any of you potato messages about her suspicions (albeit with no reasoning provided for those suspicions)? I ask because she sent me one, and it reads somewhat strangely; I get the impression that it was copied and pasted onto multiple potatoes for different heroes. (Again, not particularly suspicious; I'm just curious.) Or as the elves say, "Carmandë hya úhandë. "
  14. I'm not sure why you're asking these things, but remember that this is not a Buy/Sell topic. Use this topic to post pictures of your armies and displays; we have a separate forum for Buy/Sell/Trade/Finds.
  15. It's been said many times what you're doing wrong. I don't think it helps to tell you what to do in order to appear less scummy, because then you'll just be following what we say, as if we gave you the answers to a test. I don't see how you can make yourself appear any less suspicious by asking what you have to do and then following. We've said enough times what you've done wrong. He's just referring to the Magnifying Glass plan. Nice summary of the obvious and of other heroes' analysis.( ) And asking other heroes to tell you what's been going on is something I remember being a sign of scum, though in this case perhaps there has been enough pointless posting and activity to make it excusable.
  16. Yes, that was my point.
  17. Then based on my experiences, I must say that it's funny how you seem to know exactly what you're doing wrong and you have a solid explanation behind it, but you don't appear to try to fix it.
  18. No, most heroes catch up, then make a statement that might include something about catching up, so they're making a statement because they have something to add, not because they want to quickly give a reason for being inactive so early in the situation. Hall-ies aren't afraid of looking suspicious, because they have nothing to hide. Especially when it's so early that no one can be accused of inactivity yet, making a statement like yours just shows that you're worried about looking inactive.I distinctly remember a book called "Yakuza", in which an individual told us at the beginning of the situation not to suspect him because of inactivity because he would be away for a few hours. A character similar to myself pointed that out, and after a lot of flailing the individual was killed and revealed as scum. That's a somewhat more drastic case than yours, but the same principle is there. Although if I recall correctly, in lots of books I've read, characters similar to yours act like this all the time...
  19. Otherwise known as saying something for the sake of saying something before you know what's going on so that you appear more active.
  20. They look a little dim to me, (mine is a 2010 MacBook Pro) but nothing some adjustments in an image editor couldn't fix.
  21. Yes, I know; like I said: it could impede our efforts to form a core if the scum kill according to the list, but it'll still create a pattern. Besides, we have to start somewhere, we have no idea how many Magnifying Glasses were distributed among us, and one hero has already publicly claimed to have a Glass, so we don't know if we have a significantly better option for trying to get investigations going. At least this way we have something to get started and we have the information out in public, which should work in our favor this early in the game when we don't quite know who to trust yet.
  22. Most likely, they will try to kill someone whether there is a list or not, so I don't think it would majorly change anything other than impede our efforts to confirm — as much as one can be confirmed — a Hall-ie core. But If they do decide to kill according to the list, then that could make it easier get a read based on who they didn't kill. WIFOM aside, killing sequentially based on the list would create something of a trackable pattern, so I doubt that they would do that and also risk acting predictably and being seen or being blocked.
  23. Kharybdis has recommended a couple times that if there is a Watcher, he target the hero known to have the Magnifying Glass.
  24. It's just a tiny bit on the harsh side, but I like the contrast between the foreground and the background, so I would just darken the highlights just a little bit, and then maybe increase the blues to make the dimly-lit whites appear cleaner.
  25. We all know what he's talking about. We can all see that you edited your statement. ...interesting.
