Making labels

This may be useful to you. -
Thanks everyone for your models so far. I'm trying to update the index, but I can't reach my index file, because it's in a backup (I had to wipe my pc because I had a virus). But, as stupid as I am, I forgot which program I used to backup I will try some googling, but I'm also busy at the moment preparing for my vacation. That brings me to the point that I will be away for three and a half weeks starting at the end of this week.

You can just run the setup of the newest version. You don't need to delete or uninstall anything. (At least that's what I'm always doing...)

The only reason I can think of not to buy it, is if you don't have enough money. I don't think there are any other reasons... Well, you have probably no organs left

I also think it won't be sold out so quickly, but it's just that I don't want to take any risks. I will my bang my head 100 times against a wall, if it seems my predection wasn't correct and the thing was sold out in the night I was asleep

So, does anyone know how late and in which time-zone the set goes on sale? I know it's on 1 august, but 1 august starts earlier in some parts of the world... Anyway, I think I'll just wait until midnight (local time, it's the same as the one in Denmark) to see if I can order one. I think they won't sell out that fast, but I don't want to take any risks. I know this has been asked before, but couldn't find any answer...

That's certainly possible, I'm using this possibility for a long time already in the LDraw index, also for the Castle theme

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
legolijntje replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I wonder if it really needs more budget. I mean, take a look at SR3D Builder. It is made by 1 person, but it includes both the advantages of LDD and LDraw and even more: a whole set of tools to animate and test your Technic functions. So, if that can be made by 1 person, it can also be done by the LDD team. But, of course the LDD team has to make all the parts by themself too, which Sergio (from SR3D Builder) doesn't have to. -

It was here -
You can order it directly at Shop@Home from 1 august or buy it in the official LEGO stores (also from 1 august).

No, that's not a problem of SR3D Builder. It's because the part (in this case an nxt) is made of subparts. You can read more about this here (but maybe there are more solutions). I don't have much experience with this either...

@happymark: That's a nice room you have there! And the content of the room is even better

Well, the mirror building function is very simple. When you press the mirror building button, you'll see a mirror appearing on the sreen. You have to place it where you want the the border (mirror) between left and right. After that, you can just build on one of the sides like normally. The only disadvantage though is that you can't select (so can't change color, shape or place) existing parts.

That looks amazing Sergio. I can't wait to try the Theo Jansen mechanism myself in SR3D Builder The pneumatic movements look also very good. Keep up the good work! Btw, I just remembered something that would be very useful to add in a next release ( I want this for such a loooong time now, but I always forgot to ask): being able to make mostly straight flex axles. Your program can handle curved flex axles very good, but straight ones (such as in the hood of 8145) is a pain. Anyway, the installer is busy now with the newest version. Thanks for all your work

Instruction Miner vs. LPub
legolijntje replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I add steps and rotation steps in SR3D Builder. I also use the group function to make my sub-models. When I'm done I export all the seperate groups and import and replace them all in MLcad so LPub understands the submodels (it can only understand mpd files, no groups from SR3D Builder). -
Instruction Miner vs. LPub
legolijntje replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, the instruction miner isn't made for making the actual instructions, so that's why LPub can do more than the instruction miner The instruction miner is made for adding Steps and Rotation steps and changing the order of the parts. This information is used by LPub to generate the instructions. It are the same META commands MLcad adds for the STEP and ROTSTEP -
First, you have select the gear/axle/whatever you want to add to the animation console with the "Animation Mode - Rotate" button. Then, you press the right mouse button and you select the "Add to animation console". Don't forget you have to register your SR3D Builder first, to be able to use the animation console.

I don't understand your worries? That LDraw.xml has nothing to do with rendering LDraw models. That LDraw.xml is used by LDD to correctly export LDD models to LDraw

MLCAD to SR 3D Builder
legolijntje replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What I do when creating instructions: Create the model in SR3D Builder with the sub-models I want in the instructions created in a seperate group Export all the groups Import and place the groups in MLcad Add the (if needed) other things like ghost parts in MLcad Make the instructions with LPub
