Tracked problems
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As I said I solved the problem but I won´t say the solution yet . Bart I agree with you, I thought the same but it is solved and still uses the rubber tracks. MrNumbskull13 if I do that you say I loose the MOC proportion and I say the same at the drive front gear... the caterpillar 527 has a only drive gear and it is above, if I don´t pursue the realism... I miss fun. -
Tracked problems

Legomuppet9 I have tried the thing you say, Bricktrain I use the rubber bricks like in my 6090 Caterpillar front shovel, it is an idea original from Mahjqa. Original idea http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mahjqa/994-Igniz/igniz02.jpg I'm just evolving -
Tracked problems
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Before I try to copy a machine I take information about it, this case is like the D11. If I change the drive gear I loose the fun and the realism it is not an option . Anyway I've solved it and I discovered another type of tracks I can do, this problem has been great . -
Tracked problems

Explain it to them I just copy them... the drive gear is in the middle... -
As you see I have problems with my litlle machine... I thought... - If I put bigger boggies, it has 7 in the video, maybe large gears have less pressure... untried. - Remove or put links... tried and fail. - Too light chain... untried but difficult to get. - Put something to press the chain on the drive gear, it wouldn´t be nice... untried. - The undercarriage has a tensor maybe play with it... untried. - Put higher the drive gear, I have the perfect proportion but maybe... untried. Any advice or idea...?, thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUrsHb10xsM&feature=youtu.be I can´t change the drive gear because the undercarriage has pivot suspension. In the pic you can see the tensor with the shock absorver the pneumatic is only a guide.

I like tractors with wheels too but I love all tracked machines... The problem with wheels is that they aren´t large enough to make a tractor that has the features I want, as I always say machinery hasn´t got more room between axes. I am working on larger custom wheels but for now I am enjoying with this, look the size, of course I'll put my rubber tracks.

Happy to read about heavy machinery even for the color . Color doesn´t let me do any machine like a john deere (green), hitachi (orange) or liebherr (white). Actually it's silly... for me the challenge is the mechanism but if I can´t put the original color... I have to say that I only use liftarms. Projects waiting for colors...

Nissan GT-R WIP
jorgeopesi replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Watching it in detail I see that it won´t be as big as I think, mine was bigger. You can see in the video what speed I got with the same motor on a 3kg car. -
Nissan GT-R WIP
jorgeopesi replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It looks good, my first supercar MOC was a old Nissan Skyline years ago... it was nice to build a litlle rear steering axle on it . One more thing, with those wheels the car will be huge and weighed much for that engine, I know well because my R8 used the same engine and had similar measures. -
[MOC] Swingloader Mark Two
jorgeopesi replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The cabin needs, in my opinion , a bit of work to have a perfect MOC. One rare thing with the wheel loaders and all the heavy machinery generally is that they are very narrow, it is very hard to do but fun so that makes you think a lot. I have to build one of these they seem very fun to build, good work again . -
legomuppet9 - In fact I have a list too I call it "to built" it is a folder and it has more folders... cars, trucks and heavy machinery and the last one has graders, skidders, front shovels, dozers, cranes, wheel loaders, tracked loaders and more... , I would need a big blog .efferman - You are right for me building isn´t the goal but without an ambitious goal the building is less fun in my opinion. z3_2drive - I always use your number 3. Mataroa - No doubt the LDD is my weak point . piterx - We do just the same, the scale of the wheels made me leave many MOCs by not getting the exact proportion, I'm just working on building custom wheels by rubber bricks. dhc6twinotter - I am unable to build two MOCs at a time, it is a mania... .

I explain my case... Before I represented any vehicle that I liked and I spent a lot of time thinking and building mechanisms but eventually the opposite happens to me and is very annoying... Now I spend more time selecting which to build that building it. The question is this, have you some method of selection to make your MOCs?, what are your preferences?, must have many functions or just to like?. I think there are many questions about this topic, if you think of another put it here too I would like to know. Sariel has a good method in my opinion, he makes a MOC´s plan and he builts them.
