Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Artanis I replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Man, this is older than the Internet. (Oh, wait, it actually is...) I like it all, for different reasons. I think SW wins (due to the cooler aliens) but I'm into Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, Farscape, Red Dwarf (admittedly it's more a comedy) etc... It's true, there's a lot about them I hate too. (Jar Jar, "<life/death situation> 'No response, captain' 'Increase to x quantity' 'Total success! Complete victory! Pity about that red-shirt though' <episode ends>", Anakin, Ewoks, Humanoids with glue on their head, Cheese cheese & more cheese, SGU (shoutfest in dark rooms), PT scripts, "We're just explorers in army gear with automatic weapons aimed at you, why are we being treated as hostile?"... -
Crownies=most boring Castle faction?
Artanis I replied to dwarf-brik's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
can't really argue with that! I think the Crownies look fine, sure they don't stand out but they look a solid disciplined army. The old Dragon Knights look awesome but they also look like a bunch of potential deserters/mutineers. More barbarous than civilised. -
You have the quotes in the wrong place. It's "a British accent" as in there are many accents from the British Isles (and not just the typical two from England you tend to hear on TV - "Hugh Grant" & Cockney) and what I referred to sounds like what you get when an American voice actor tries to adopt one. I probably should've said "any" instead of "a". Back on topic, some good ones today!

I overlooked that scene, I only ever saw those once. Definitely not Jamaican or anything similar there, I'm not hearing much English-ness though. Brickdoctor: probably hyphenated "Jar-Jar" In TCW, Plo Koon strikes me as "American voice actor trying to do a British accent"

Kit Fisto is Caribbean - you probably meant someone else, I'd say Ki Adi Mundi. Watto: I thought he was Italian. "Hey Ani, you wanna spinna the pizza?" But yes, Neimoidians definitely sound Japanese (apart from one in The Clone Wars), and Mace Windu, Anakin & Ahsoka are American.

Whenever I think of War Of The Worlds, I think of the Jeff Wayne musical, and the associated artwork. UUULLAAAHHHHHHH!!! and that theme is now in my head...

typical Schwartz - always has to speak too soon. ...how many rounds are there..? (I hope there isn't going to be a whole tournament, I'm starting to miss the studded ABS!)

Even if they weren't true 3D, I would still go to see them on the big screen, it's been quite a few years since episode 3 was released, and even longer since the others were. I never got to see episode 5 or 6 at the cinema. (Parents were cheapskates when they were re-released, they wouldn't take me in to the city... )

I let him & his small band hang out at the Night Lord's castle, but it's not quite the same. Dragon Castle please! My knights have outgrown their prison tower big time...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Artanis I replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I had no idea who died until someone yelled out "ECHO!" Most of the clones look the same to me, especially with the helmets on. So, 2 late appearances from Saesee Tiin with no speaking part... -
Haha that was a ripper... I've never heard of them - fortunately the pic didn't load so I loaded the video before reloading the pic. Awesome!

I thought he meant that the blacksmith character hasn't finished working on the weapons, rather than the blacksmith set hasn't been finalised. Also, I'm pretty sure that TLG can make any piece in any colour they want without difficulty.Hey, maybe it's an instruction: "Blacksmith, ATTACK!"
-
Don't think it has, but it's a great pane even if so. Very funny, good camera shot. I question though: how does he get it out of the helmet?

Topic is 2011 Kingdoms. 3rd wave won't be 2011, so apparently now you're off topic. Besides, "a jousting tournament set would be superb" sounds a bit like a wishlist to me? yep!
-
Ninjago, Frog Rush, Banana Balance & Ramses Return have all been available here since January, but I have not seen any of the others from this wave. We got around half of the games from previous waves so I imagine that this is it this time around too.
-
 I am thinking 1-4-1-1, so very similar to you. The difference here is that our prices are likely to be closer to extortion... more like $300, and probably not available until much later.
-
This new part appears in the Kingdoms Blacksmith Attack set, and apparently some new City (police?) sets just released. Have a look in those topics for more discussion.

it was bound to happen eventually...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Artanis I replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I considered saying something similar about this, (as I would've had him be cooperative if I were writing it) but then I thought "hey, maybe he was like that?" Exaggerate was the word I had in mind originally, too. To counter "just because ... doesn't mean he would ..." - while it's a good point, it doesn't mean he can't either? Besides, if everyone behaved rationally and everything was logical, stories and the universe around us would be extremely boring & predictable! -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

He did appear right at the end of episode 3 - as they were working on the death star. I enjoyed the episode mostly. I was wondering why there's such a huge complex for 4 prisoners though... and I was seriously expecting them to rescue others before escaping. But hey, if that's all the droid army can capture, then that's all you can rescue... Gotta love Obi Wan's sarcastic wit though: "I see Anakin's teaching method is Do-As-I-Say-Not-As-I-Do" haha. Cop that. -
Wait until POTC sets come out, and use the Elizabeth Swan(n?) Keira Knightley as Padme's decoy...
-
Some good ones back there - have to admit I also say "tin" so neither did I get that one.

LOL. Actually I haven't seen that version (I stopped watching 007 movies when I realised they were all the same) but I have seen the 60s version of Casino Royale. (with Peter Sellers, David Niven etc) Although if you really think about this scene, it seems Jammie is the one more likely to have his head explode if his self-image is what it seems! HEAD SWELL!!!
