Yeah, this set was hard to track down, and expensive. It was only released in the US. I'm not a fan of major assymmetry, especially when it affects balance. This ship is very off-balanced. Still an awesome ship, and with a bunch of Invaders in addition you have a very cool looking fleet of badass bad guys! I love the Blacktron colour scheme & the minifigs are the best!

Classic Movie Scene - This is Spinal Tap
Artanis I replied to shmails's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Indeed! -
Been watching Spaceballs lately? Did he have the soup or the special?

Troop transport is very important! Most of my space based MOCs had room for multiple minifigs. One thing that's unrealistic about Lego sets is that most of them only have room for one. The photos are not very clear, but from what I can tell the models look a pretty solid effort, and seem to fit in nicely with the official sets.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
ABOUT TIME! She looks good. I like the dress/gown piece. -
I have 17 factions, but they are all involved in 7 alliances. There are two "good" alliances, the others are "evil" alliances, to varying degrees. No custom armies... I'm too boring to invent my own! Peaceful: Red alliance of kingdoms: Old Lion Knights (AKA Crusaders) + Royal Knights + New Lion Knights Blue alliance of kingdoms: Knights Kingdom I + Knights Kingdom II + Crown Knights Lawless: "Outlaw Pact": Forestmen + Wolfpack War Driven/Opressors: "Treaty Of Survival": Black Falcons + New Dragon Knights "Alternative Approach": Fright Knights + Bulls + Shadow Knights "Men Of Honour": Black Knights + Old Dragon Knights Non-human: Undead + Trolls/Orcs The Red & Blue alliances were formed to defend against the many hostile armies, particularly the Black Knights & Old Dragon Knights. (The most numerous in force.) The outlaws operate independently from each other, but not at odds. "Men Of Honour" is a self-proclaimed title, (no one else believes it) - they don't trust the "dark" methods of the "Alternatives" but that is where the honour ends and greed, malice & pride begins: their quest is for power & absolute conquest, and refuse to share with "lesser men". The Bulls being small in number have joined with the slightly more numerous Fright Knights, and in turn they have identified with the similar-minded Shadow Knights - both very open to supernatural methods. The "Treaty Of Survival" was signed out of fear/necessity - alone they were both under threat of conquest by "Men Of Honour" or "Alternatives", imprisonment by any of the 6 red/blue kingdoms, and raiding by outlaws, Trolls/Orcs or Undead. The last forged alliance was between the Undead & Trolls/Orcs for similar reasons: their survival depended on it, and no one else wanted to ally with them. Most factions have a specific leader, most of whom are named. The red/blue alliances are purely about defence, not offence. If one red kingdom is under attack, the others come to their aid immediately. At times one or more blue kingdom may also, & vice versa, depending on the situation, but are in no way bound to it. Red & Blue are never against each other, but don't always cooperate. (Think Gondor & Rohan.) I haven't worked out all the details & backstories yet. Each faction (other than Bulls) has at least one castle/fortress. I will take photos at some stage and post them in the armies topic.

If Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime was a G1 Decepticon... Nice creation, looks great all over, except the front doesn't seem quite right. The cockpit is excellent, the wings, top, rear, everything but the front. Maybe it's just the cone. I suggest replace the cone & greeble up the very front. Vivid colours, curious techniques... its shape flows very well. Awesome ship, I love it! I could see a fleet of similar ships in different colour schemes...

She reminds me of a Vala Mal Doran/Aeryn Sun cross. Question is, is Schwartz Daniel Jackson, or John Crichton? Cam Mitchell?

Aaarrrgghhhh!!!! "502 Bad Gateway" ... get your act into gear, Drunk Duck!
-
Agreed. Wanted -> By Shop is probably the best way to start, you can refine which wanted lists you want to include too. Unless you're only after common parts, you'll most likely be unsuccessful in finding everything in the one place at a price you're interested in paying.

Awesome! Minifigs are perfect! This scene is classic. Took me a couple of seconds to get it, once I realised the location, I realised the ice cream was Donny's ashes. I must admit, this is a movie I laugh about when I'm not watching it - when I'm watching it I just want to bang my head on a wall.

"My life for Aiur!" Well done, no mistaking that one.

& Your comment reminds me of a discussion regarding The Dark Knight, where The Joker explains how he got his "smile" to different people with different accounts. A number of (real) people believed the first story as the true one and the others as lies, whereas I suggested the first could be a lie too... just because it doesn't contradict what you aready know doesn't mean it's true!

There's a thought... even if it jacks the price up it'd sell, surely? I seem to recall something resembling a passenger monorail appearing in The Clone Wars, even if it was just an elevated "subway" train.
-
Train looks awesome , but like others I don't think it's overly "steampunk". Take away the driver and you wouldn't know at all. Maybe to make it more steamy you would need more propellers, gears, or things with steam coming out of them. Rusty looking colours interspersed would add to that too. That said, it looks really cool regardless, and I like how you've worked in an extra section. I like the pillars too. PS love the sig, haha

I always assumed from watching that scene that either Darth Plagueis or Darth Sideous (could be either, as Palpatine said the master taught the apprentice everything he knew) had created Anakin using the force. I had also assumed that he was talking about himself when referring to the apprentice, not that it was ever stated explicitly. It actually made sense of the "there was no father" weird crap from Episode I, and the dreams Anakin had could also be caused by Sideous "friggin' around with midichlorians" to manipulate The Force or some crap.

Dakka! Dakka-dakka! I think a little less yellow on the sides (2x8 is a bit much) and add a little yellow on top of the rotors and the colours are perfect. Nice shape, it looks really good from the front. I do like the Jet-Copter though. Alien mech looks pretty hardcore! Interesting use of the castle wall turret top parts.

Winter Theme still in use on EB?
Artanis I replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Forum Information and Help
You think that's weird? Try having the winter theme all summer, then the summer theme all winter. We have Aslan & the White Witch both at the wrong time of year... -
those keychains came in useful? Some pieces are more versatile than they first seem!
-
They looked more likely to be the same character than Anakin & Obi Wan's different actors suggested... plus Yoda had very different appearances in some movies, why not make them all different characters too? While we're at it, what about Empress Chimpeyes?!
-
This happens all the time with blister packs. Plus, it looks pretty much identical (besides the POTC theming) to the Alien Conquest pack.
-
Unfortunately I don't see TLG releasing both Adi Gallia & Stass Allie. (Why they even had to be a different character is beyond me, I didn't notice the difference in the movies.) Same goes for Eeth Koth & Agen Kolar. I don't reckon we'll see a Yaddle, as she was never in any action scenes. Even Piell however, there's a good chance he'll turn up. I'm a sucker for jedi, so here's hoping anyway.

They just had to include a Jack Sparrow didn't they... When I saw the topic title I thought "Hmmm, I wonder if it's just 5 Jack Sparrows?"
-
Death Watch well done.
