  1. They're expensive because they're RARE! Black plumes are expensive too. Keep in mind that vintage minifigs aren't made anymore, and haven't been produced or sold for many years. There's a very limited supply, so buying those knights by the dozen is going to be a lot more difficult than amassing Kingdoms minifigs, and it will only get harder & harder for everyone else as you go. Where am I going with this? Don't remember. Just keep the rarity/scarcity in mind I suppose!
  2. I saw it by myself the first time, then with a bunch of young people. I was genuinely surprised and felt a fool (insert facepalm here *) but some of the guys were perceptive... "Hey... I bet it's ********************* just look at *****************!" (censored by me) * Hey we actually have one of these now!
  3. Haha, the droid only needs the set instructions to rebuild it... but those two serving hamburgers is probably a less stressful outcome for the rest of us...
  4. WB KimT! I'm mostly interested in clones & jedi, although I really like the OT I'm not an OT Lego buyer so there's not much in this wave for me. I suppose I might have to grab extra battle packs? Do I want another Barriss Offee? I know I want a Gree... Brickdoctor, not satisfied with these recent revelations already?
  5. Neck printing: No neck printing: I think minifig joints get stiff from underuse probably accentuated by environmental factors. Overuse tend to make the joints really loose, I would much prefer stiff to loose. At least with stiff you merely wrestle a bit to pose them, whereas with loose they won't stand up or hold a pose.
  6. My friends & I like to watch movies by that "production company" (for lack of a better term) for that very reason. May I recommend 100 Million BC (for terrible + terribly funny acting, props, CGI) & Alien Vs Hunter (for atrocious dialogue and reused & nonsensical sets).
  7. You have quite a nice collection going on there! Some unlikely characters...
  8. [and other continually vocal skeptics] Either believe it or don't believe it, no need to harp on so much. Be happy with what information you are getting, and play the game. Mirandir is enjoying teasing everyone with little bits at a time, and most of us are enjoying having a small piece of the puzzle revealed at a time. You don't get a fully constructed Lego set straight out of the box, you put it together one piece at a time. It's part of the fun. Lego fans should be the best at receiving info this way P.S. Please pay more attention to your spelling, grammar & punctuation here on Eurobricks, this is not a chat room, and it's a bit annoying.
  9. Haha, brilliant! This should be posted in the SW funnies topic. Awesome scene set too, great detail and totally believeable.
  10. Well it all seems logically plausible to me. We will all just have to wait and see. Regarding the battle pack change: it was the norm since 80s, maybe even earlier for minifig packs to have a selection from each side. It has only been in recent years that packs have been exclusively one side (eg SW, Kingdoms), and it appears things are going back to how they were. Alien Conquest, POTC etc case in point. The "battle in a box" thing that ruined SP3 sets for me (made it harder to build factional fleets without getting extra stuff you didn't want) is everywhere - including SW - so why wouldn't it make sense for the SW battle packs too? As others have said, it makes them more accessible to kids too. When I was a kid, pretty much the only sets I could afford were small ones with 1 MAYBE 2 minifigs or the minifig packs - only once did I manage to get 2 of a minifig pack despite wanting to for many releases. edit: by "it all" I wasn't referring to a UCS Cloud Car... that's a bit
  11. How did I miss this?! Minotaur! Skater chick! Space heroine! Not sure about the alien, it doesn't seem right. Nice head though. Some interesting ideas with the statue & genie.
  12. (including many of the board games, and on that note:) Heroica & Lego Champion are now on AU S@H. $50 for Lego Champion, $40 for Castle Fortaan, $30 for Waldurk Forest & Caverns of Nathuz, $23 for Draida Bay. Free ADU Jetpack minifig with orders over $45 for this month.
  13. I know what you meant, I would like to add however that it would not be the first time TLG would give us a minifig in an unlikely setting. According the The Wook if we just scroll down a bit that outfit was for the throne room only. Her transit outfit was this purple+mauve piece (or pieces ) But since the red outfit is more recognisable they may substitute that in instead. Just saying it's possible. I still believe it's more likely that we'll get a Theed setting...
  14. As the Dr said, many possible arguments have been thrown around, particularly in the cartoon series topics in the Culture & Multimedia section. This question has nothing to do with Lego, this topic is about SW Lego questions. I too would like to see this, I have considered skipping the new Maul and going for the old one & getting the Zabrak horns for him instead. I prefer the older face to the newer one. (those eyes are too close together... you know what they say about people like that ) I just noticed that the new minifig still hasn't been parted out for inventory on Bricklink.
  15. After 25 pages of "Royal Starship" that word finally appears... I don't remember what she wore on Coruscant, nor how she got there... but I'm pretty sure she wore something fancy in the senate, and I imagine she wore something Queen-like in transit? Although I personally believe it's more likely we'll see a Theed (or galactic senate) location-based set than a mercury blob ship.
  16. My experience on used PIECES has been mostly very good, sometimes used SETS (I am talking vintage - 15+ years) can be a bit shabby. Not as often as eBay though. I have never received heavily scratched or bitten parts through Bricklink. (Vintage minifigs can have worn prints and loose joints though.) You can usually tell from a good seller's item description or in their Store Terms. One thing no one else has mentioned that you may not know (having just left the dark ages) is that the grey colour changed a few years back. The old grey & the new grey don't look very good next to each other. Sometimes the new grey is referred to as "blue grey" or "bley". So, if you want to build a big grey castle you should probably decide whether you want to go with the older or newer grey. I am of course assuming that your dark age began before this change!
  17. (as opposed to your post ) Well, from a certain point of view.
  18. ummmmmm... might have to explain that one to me...
  19. Impressive, gratefulnat, some of it looks a bit precarious... I hope there aren't any "whoops moments" by the guests! Poor General Grievous has no friends
  20. I have all the castles (bar 10176 & the yellow one) and they are displayed in all their majesty in my Lego room. I would have to say that my favourites are 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress (besides being huge it has the most character) 6090 Royal Knights Castle & the smaller 6086, 6085 & 6074. For minifig selection you can't go past 6080/6085/6086 (12 soldiers + 4 horses) plus the armoured knights in 6086 are 8877: 6086:
  21. He said "doesn't want to mess with THAT continuity" not "doesn't want to mess with continuity" So everything else is still up for butchering
  22. (+1 for no need for codecs anymore if you use VLC... it is available for free for every platform, plays everything AV except BluRay - but only because it's not allowed to.) I DLed it but will buy it on disc when it's released. I found it very entertaining, but I did get a little bored with it near the end. They definitely got me with "Ian"... I felt so stupid! I loved the Taun Taun scene, that was funny.
