  1. Thank you all for your positive feedback, it means a lot! Thanks and check out my Brickshelf. I have a back shot there.
  2. Introduction I've taken a break from steampunk/dieselpunk/sky-fi to work on this organic machine. But, bare in mind that this creature exists in the same fantastic world as the Central Machines and Attatech walkers. The infernal creation sprouted from the Mother's soft underbelly. The Uorre-tabat is blessed with the powers of control over machines. These creatures were known, during the Plague to latch onto the underbellies of war machines and airships and chew through the mechanical parts and replace them with veins, nerves, and fatty tissue. Naming I took much more time on delving deeper for the name of this creature than for say, my mechs, I wanted to create a Tolkein-esque meaning to the names of this creature and it's counterparts. In naming this, I've combined several elements. The first part of the name, Uorre, is derived from Ur, the ancient Sumerian city in Mesopotamia which invokes antiquity and age. Also, one of the Hebrew meanings of the word Ur, those who know better correct me if I'm wrong, is light. Cool, you say, what does this have to do with the creature, I'm getting there. Ok, now we get to the second part. According to Strong's Concordance of the Holy Bible, "ta" is translated in Ezekiel 40:7 as guardroom. And, as in Bat Mitzvah, "bat" denotes female, specifically girl. So if we put it all together I get the phrase "Guarding the Female from the Light". Obviously there is some artistic license taken there, so linguists don't get mad. The explanation for this name will be revealed with subsequent builds. Some clues can be gathered from the above description. This final shot shows the Uorre-tabat next to a Maane soldier for size comparison. For more pictures of this model and of my other models, check out my Brickshelf Gallery or flickr photostream.
  3. You've really mastered the shape of it, props to you sir!
  4. This is very nice. I like how you split up the monotony of shape with splashes of "aging" and spare parts.
  5. Taking a break from mechs, I present the Unlikely Flying Vessel! This beauty has long-spanning origins. I originally built the pilot (Alfred Thruster) when I was going through a "figbarf" stage. Two years after having this guy staring at me from my shelf I decided it was high-time that he needed a ship to surround his character. There is something just magical for me in the dark-red/ yellow combo (I also like dark-blue/yellow which might be my next ship.) I've been looking for a use for many of the big hulking dark-red pieces found in 8097 Slave I, and this is what I ended up with! Here's what I consider to be some ingenious cockpit techniques. I was so proud when I saw that all the shapes fit together! And here is the gallant pilot himself, Alfred Thruster! For more pictures check out my Brickshelf Gallery. Please, I would love comments or criticism.
  6. Nice vignette!
  7. A scout-sized mech made by the geniuses at Central Machines to act as the expendable force for the Cartan army. Costing less for raw materials than any other Central Machines mech, the Snotling is the perfect option for revolutionary forces, such as this Tartrosian rebel soldier piloting this mech. Here she is! Take a peek "under the hood"! I appreciate any comments/criticism. Check out more pictures on my Brickshelf Gallery.
  8. I bet a good interior skeleton of the "thin area" would make it rather sturdy. I think it's a great looking ship, and, I believe it is on Cuusoo?
  9. You seem to have differing styles. Most of the fuselage is sleek without too many studs. The wings and rudder are really "studly" in comparison. Also, I don't particularly like the blue stanchion on the bottom. It seems a little out of place with the rest of the build.
  10. Behold, a blast from ages past! This is the Attatech I! The very first mech created by Attatech for the Great Wars. This model was used in the Siege of Musina as massive artillery units to bombard the vertical city. Manned by a only single semi-unprotected soldier, this model was eventually replaced two years into the war by the Attatech II and then the Attatech III. The only remaining models are held in the Great Cartan Library. This archaic model features three powerful legs, twin cannons on a rotating turret. And here is the open cockpit. Check out my brickshelf (link below) to see more images!
  11. Supported! I really want this one to pass. Great throwback to Johnny Thunder, but the steampunk looks great!
  12. Thanks all of you. I really appreciate it!
  13. Here is the latest from the engineers and mechanics of Central Machines! The XVI "Manticore" Class mech! The most powerful war machine in Central Machine's arsenal. It has two massive 6cm gatling cannons on either side of the two-person cockpit. A smaller machine gun is located in the undercarriage. This powerful machine carries six automaton infantry troops housed in the rear. A delightful play feature (see video) allows you to pull out all troops at a single time. Here's a side view. And an upward shot. And here is a link to the video of the play feature: http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/
  14. Saw it on flickr, but I'll comment here. Beautiful! Simply stunning shape!
  15. They are just attached by a plate.
  16. There is a palpable electricity in the air. Soldier look around for the source, but by then it is too late. They are no more than charred corpses. Introducing the Attatech Lightning Cannon! Capable of harnessing over one billion volts of electricity and channeling it in the direction of your enemy. This little guy started off as some table scrap and eventually turned into something more. This is loosely based off of Scott Westerfeld's book Behemoth. And here's a black and white "period" shot of the cannon in action! For more pictures check out my Brickshelf Gallery!
  17. I just didn't. I didn't like how tiles looked and I didn't want greebles...I know that's not a good reason. But I think it adds an almost bolt-like quality to the front.
  18. With a clank and a hiss, the Gremlin is ready for action! The smallest mounted unit in the Central Machine's arsenal, The Gremlin is a versatile little mech that works as scout, infantry, and artillery. During the Blackblood Wars Central Machines produced over 65,000 Gremlins making the most produced mech to date. I based this MOC using the skeleton of Exo-Force 7711. http://www.bricklink...em.asp?S=7711-1 Here is an open-cockpit photo.
  19. Beautifully shaped!
  20. Impressive! I really like the shape and colors.
  21. 23 by The Penguin - 3 points
  22. Here's mine. I know it's not good but I don't have time and I still want to participate in the raffle.
  23. I really love the shaping on this one. Good job!
  24. What do you mean "more"? If you check out my Brickshelf gallery there is an interior shot of the drivers.
  25. I think they are underrated when it comes to military creations. I'd like to think of them as the Amazons of the diesel age.
