Creator Set 4939 Alternative: Aircraft Carrier
Holodoc replied to Legostein's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks gabe for digging up this topic again! I haven't seen any of your microscale models yet - well, besides those from the event. Absolute fantastic! I once tried something similar with 4954 (built a train station) and I love building something different from a set, but your creations are, like you pointed out, completey different from the original. Very well done, Chris! Now I've got to check out your other alternatives. -
Thanks for showing extra ways to save a € or two. Bear in mind though that the Cars sets are Duplo sets!

Hey Reywas! Welcome on our boards, I'm sure you have read the guidelines before entering the site, haven't you? Looking at the topic you created in the TrainTech forum, I have to point out your 25-words-introduction still does NOT sum it up! I think you know what I'm talking about and I hope you will react soon...

Well, I will take care of that for sure.

Even if it is too soon right now, you can sign me up for being a cabin's captain . Hopefully that doesn't frighten anyone...

EB 2011 Windsor Event - pics & stories
Holodoc replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Now finally I have uploaded my photo gallery from the event here. Just a few examples: Where we stayed - with the right printing on the flag. This place was really amazing! Quiet, green, comfortable. After the first day in the park. Viking ride? Mission accomplished! Our dear root beer admin greeting us via satellite connection! Cool. Presentation time. The crowd listens. The original... ...and the copy. Visiting the buildershop... And my absolute favourites: The diver in a sea of - what? Beer? The first (effortless) attempt to get the poor guy out again... ... and how to do it right. Btw. one of the next year's competitions! Finally a picture puzzle: What is this (caution, Trekkie joke)? (this was not an eventee, but a miniland tour guide...) -
By looking at the topic and the incredible modifications you did to an already existing set , I would like to know how hold you actually are. Mind to tell something about yourself here?

Me too, me too! (oh, I used Hinckleys personal smiley) Maybe not this summer, but what about next summer?

EB 2011 Windsor Event - pics & stories
Holodoc replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hey, I have found the event photo topic! But still I'm waaay to tired to upload my photos right now. I've already sorted them, but still they have to be resized and uploaded. I'll do that when I'm rested. Like Aredhel already pointed out we got stuck at Heathrow airport... 2 1/2 hours ... The event once again was a blast and my deepest thankfulness go to Bonaparte for taking care of the organization (unwanted and somehow unintended!) - and of course to Copmike for the behind-scenes-negotiating and special extras. Very well done both of you! And there is one more little thing: - thanks for all the "old" eventees for coming - it's always a pleasure meeting you again. - thanks for all the "new" eventees for coming - hopefully we will see you all again next year in Billund! - for all those that quoted to come and did not : The organizing takes a lot of time and sometimes even money for every single eventee. Bear that in mind the next time. -
The last day before our fabulous event will start. Last but not least, we have The Netherlands - and Pally and Capt. Green Hair who represent their country. We're through!

Happy birthday, Siegfried! Congrats on your new laptop and the fun you had eating the cake! I've got something laying around for you: (no age to leave bad comments on) Or shouldn't I have told anyone...?

I love it when a plan comes together! What? Who? Why? Darn! Have a nice trip, see you in two days. -
Our host country this year: The United Kingdom! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! (Hopefully it's not the 6 o'clock intercity...) The biggest group this year will be from the UK: Sir Norman Ray Peppermint_M Calanon Rufus and Pandora SilentMode Derfel Cadarn and Honeybee JammieDodger714 Pedro SlyOwl NovaStar and Pinky art_apples - and maybe some more last minute eventees ... now that was work!
-
The 4 shows the motherland of Lego: Christian is - for the first time of event history ever - the only eventee from Denmark.
-
Just if I had so many dark blue bricks... On to the next country: Belgium, represented by our dear members Bonaparte and Snefroe.
-
Nice one! - I'll take the pictures.
-
Today we take a look "northways" : and the eventee coming from far far away north is: Quarryman!
-

Thanks for the updated palette, LuxorV. Now I'd like to order a 2x2 tile in each color...

Grimsvötn - at least this vulcano is better pronouncable. Anyway - it's the Eurobricks event and all eventees are from Europe this time (unlike the last 3 years), so here is number 8 in the spirit of Europe:

Now entering the "hot phase":
