It has been known to happen! :-P

Sorry, I've already done that joke. ;-) No, it's British. It stars two British comedians, was filmed in Britain, has cameos and supporting roles from other British actors/comedians, is set in Britain and was written by Britons.

Help me, I'm in my dark ages!
Brainbox replied to Western Forever's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, I've been through all the acronyms/technical terms with my friends. They can't always remember them quite right, but they know AFOL, greeble, stuff like that. A lot of people used to ask about here, BS, etc in IT lessons during 'break.' -
I don't think I ever saw that much of Beast Wars. I remember about the first half of Season 1, then a few of the Transmetal/Fuzors episodes, but never got to see the G1 stuff or the very end, sadly. Still, it was 'my era' in that it introduced me to TF. My very first toy was Insecticon. Loved it from the very start. I think, though, that Rhinox was probably my favourite character. I never had the toy though. Pity. Perhaps BW is something I'll look into getting on DVD.

Yes, and I've been through it all with my friends at school.

Happy Birthday from me too. :-)

Happy Birthday, hope the day is a good one. :-) How many phoenix pictures can we find? I mean, there're an awful lot, considering they're mythical creatures.

Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.
Brainbox replied to ReZourceman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You know, I think I know what you mean. Walking on bricks is tough though. You know, you've just rminded me of something. I used to have my AT-AT on a cabinet-thing next to my door. It didn't stick out, it was obvious where it was, and there was no way you could walk into it when you came into my room. Then, one day, my mum decided to bring some newly ironed clothes into my room, even though she normally hangs them on my door. She somehow managed to cach the AT-AT, and... well, you can guess what happened. People are no longer allowed in my room when I'm not there. Another one was not realising that my dad had rested his beer glass on a baseplate. It was a nice blue one as well. It took ages to clean off the sticky mess. :-X -

If anyone at school says anything, tell them it's better than doing drugs. Make sure not to insinuate that they are though, that may not come across well. If embarrassment is the problem, don't let it bother you. People should respect you for who you are, and if they don't then that's their loss, and they don't deserve to know you (was that a bit harsh?). Embrace your difference. It's a breath of fresh air amongst all the people who like exactly the same thing(s). If it's a creativity slump, I'd echo the other advice already posted here. Store your Lego away, or simply leave them alone, for a bit. Then come back to it later, refreshed. That may last a month, it may last a year. If you think your age is a problem, then first off, it isn't. If you need proof, go to your Lego store/big toy shop and look at the ages of people buying the Lego. And if you need further proof, look at the people browsing things like Transformers, or go to your comic shop and look at the ages of people there. It's no different. Or you could just look at the broad spectrum here. Oh, and I too love that 'no, it's for me' look on the faces of people at the tills. It's only happened a couple of times (people don't usually ask), but I remember one round last Christmas when I picked up 8781 Castle of Morcia on sale (about -
REFERENCE Dusting Lego displays and layouts
Brainbox replied to SirNadroj's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I mainly use a number of paintbrushes to dust my models. A nice soft brush, a thin brush, a stiffer small brush and a stiff hard brush for quick jobs. Large pieces (baseplates mainly) I tend to wash in water. I remember once I had to clean a baseplate because my dad had rested his beer glass on it. :-X A damp (not wet) paintbrush is a good idea if you don't want the dust to be just thrown around, only to have it come to rest back where it was. The damp will eliminate the static, and actually pick up the dust. -
Yeah, with people it's usually the other way round... ;-) X-D Anyway, Happy Birthday Lego. Unfortunately I've wasted most of Saturday so far. Perhaps I should go out and buy a cake, put a brick on top (although that should really be a block of wood) and celebrate properly. And we've got something to look forward to next year: the 50th anniversary of the brick.

You mean like, she plays the game thinking it's just that, but it turns out that the game is actually controlling someone else, someone real? Or do you mean something else.
-
No, I suppose not. And I doubt they'd be left running around the streets. But it was cool to see more Soundwave-esque 'bots. As in, TFs with 'object' alt modes.

I presumed there would be, I just couldn't see it.

Trust me, we all know. Everyone's done that. The other one is if the brick slips under your nail (somehow), and manages to cut you. Ouch... Actually, I'd imagine Sticklebricks hurt quite a lot. Yes, that was the best picture I could find... -
Whack-a-Fig Contest Semi-Final Round 1
Brainbox replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sir Dillon, just because of the great leap that Hinckley's taking. That just looks so cool. -
What do you mena? I didn't read it as remotely harsh. Anyway, lets draw a line under this and get back to TF talk. It occured to me a few days after seeing the movie that we didn't find out what happened to the machines in Mission City that were altered by the All Spark. Plotline for TF2, or mere diversion?
-
Glad to be of service. ;-)

The power of imagination! Anyway, welcome to EB. Oh, and your avatar surprised me when I first saw it. I opened this thread and jumped a little. :-D That's a poisonous scorpion am I correct? It's got small claws, so all the effort's gone into the tail because it doesn't need the claws. See, fountain of knowledge, that's me.

Ah, I see. Is there another phone piece on the back, or just one on the front?
-
Never mind 'far more.' You might as well have said 'every store.' It certainly seems that way.

Then, of course, you have to assemble the 'special nozzle', pick up one thing, then disassemble it again to continue with the hoovering. :-| -
Yeah, I remember that. It is good, isn't it? And just before people get too excited, that picture that Sinner posted is NOT REAL. ;-)
