  1. I've a tendency to just remove flick missiles from sets all together, and just MOD in something else like a 'proper' weapon.
  2. Y'know, more so than ever (and I thought it when we first heard about the sets), I think Lego's onto a winner. I mean, look at those figures. As if a, frankly, perfect Indy isn't enough, we get these two as well. Add to that the re-useability of the figs- the soldier torso, the Henry sr, etc are all good for MOCing, as are the pieces in the sets themselves. I really cannot wait for these, and I mean more so than is usual with new sets.
  3. The one thing you'd have to make sure of, though, is that it was fairly light and the wheel base had a fairly large surface area (actually, that's two things), so as to make sure it didn't dig into the soil. If that happened, transformation would be harder as the wheels would dig into the ground and drag through the soil. Then it'd nose dive.
  4. You mean the one's on the boxes? If so, yeah, I did think there was something... odd about them. Not bad, per se, just... odd.
  5. Thanks for the review. I have to say, I was surprised to see it come from a Brit, what with our somewhat poor reputation for getting the new sets anywhere near the release date. However, it matters not. I think it definitely looks a better set than I originally thought- the original pics didn't really do much for it. I'm not that sure about the Anakin face, but I think it'd be one of those things that'd grow on me if I decided to get it. I do like the hair though. I'm not that familiar with the Clone Wars stuff (I've never watched it), but I think I might get this anyway. I mean, Indy and EF come first, followed by a few other sets, but this is a possibility. More so now than before I read this actually.
  6. The Ha-Hacienda. I suppose you could count Steph Brown (Spoiler), seeing as how she's 'in-canon.' Elseworlds Robins don't really count, so that's Carrie Kelly out.
  7. Thanks for a very thorough review. I might think about getting this. I really like the mini alien fighter, and the transformation idea is always a welcome one. Both modes look pretty good, despite the some of the odd coloured bricks (which I'd MOD out). You know what it reminds me of? Some of the futuristic designs in the Gerry Anderson series.
  8. Hmm, not actually a bad set. Not high on my 'to buy' list, there're other things up there first, but definitely a possibility somewhere down the line. Thanks for the review.
  9. Well, yeah, that was my thinking. I mean, it's November. The new sets usually start appearing in shops state-side around about now (as we've seen), but never usually online till nearer Christmas. Even then it's usually only a few. Still, I'm not complaining. I think my laptop will have to wait, I'm getting these.
  10. Uhhhnn... I really want these. Now. And I can't get them, becasue there's no chance they'll be out here until about February. Anyway, I'm liking the purple on (Shadow Panther?). And the mini-robots of course, I'm loving those.
  11. And it's at least somewhat comics-accurate. He's used a helicopter a few times before, ranging from a normal halicopter, to a helicopter with the front shaped like his face. As long as we get the mothmobile :-D
  12. Helped out at a 'special preview event' for another amateur panto. Stage manager failed to turn up though...
  13. He certainly looks good. It's just a pity he's sort of in a scale of his own. Now, an Ultimate scale Prime...
  14. I second the excitement about Wave 3. Harley is obviously wonderful news, and Freeze and Penguin are cool sets. Interesting how we're getting a Tumbler, dspite being told that there weren't going to be sets from the film. The question is though, will Lego jump at this chance to give Robin his new, Post-Infinite Crisis suit? That is, assuming that there aren't any secondary characters in the sets, like Gordon, for example. I think I partly agree. But that said, it does increase the set's playability appeal, and often the villains are the draw-in point of the set. It also means we get more Bat-figs, which are always useful in separate MOCs and displays- I've got three Batsuits in my Batcave, one on my desk, and one in a MOC-box. Do what everyone did with the Bat-dragster and think of it as another Batmobile. Besides, the Batmobile in Batman #666 was somewhat buggy-like. Me too, but the trouble with that is that you've got to be careful about being selective. You can either do everyone, or no-one. Otherwise, you get people saying "well, you've done Green Arrow... why no Plastic Man?" Still, I'd like to see the Trinity. A Wonder Woman minifig... *wub* :-$ But I think we should finish the Bat-family first!
  15. Oh that's nothing. All my AS module 1 exams are just after we start back after Christmas... |-/ Finished?! I haven't even started!
  16. How about Cybertron Excellion as Neo-G1 Hot Rod/Rodimus. I saw that a while ago. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with all his work on the Movie figures. This epecially is pretty nifty.
  17. X-O Wow... You know, I've tried this sort of thing before myself, but never quite managed to get it to work. In that respect, I know how much work must have gone into this. Would you mind if I disappeared now to try again myself? Thanks for sharing.
  18. Personally, like most other people, it's so I can get feedback, whether that be questions, interest, comments, criticisms, suggestions. But, I also do it so I can simply share something I love doing. I mean, I've occasionally shared aspects of my hobby with my friends, but they don't really appreciate it in the way I do. They like my MOCs, sure, but they don't see what I see in them. You do, and that feels absolutely fantastic. Same as you sharing what you do with me. And there's the whole 'inspire someone else' thing. Maybe a certain MOC or MOD, or a certain technique, might inspire someone to do the same, or help someone complete a MOC of their own.
  19. Happy Birthday, hope you have a good day. :-)
  20. Thursday, I went to Cambridge University with College for a look round. Really good day, even if I did have to get up at 4:30. Friday I did a biology test. Today I'm going up into the loft to see if I can make ome headway clearing all the crap up there.
  21. Oh no, script-wise, I completely agree. I never want to know the whole story beforehand, ever. But I do think that a few little teasers can't hurt. Like, say, 'Megatron attacks New York City' or 'there's a new character who transforms into a space shuttle.' Personally, I think they can only hype up a movie.
  22. Well, I know there's that unofficial rule that says not to give in to strikes, or there'll just be more every time people want something, but please, reach a compromise. I mean, the postal strikes went on long enough, now we can't even get films. I know there's stuff like preliminary effects work that can be done, that doesn't really need a completed scripts, but if there's no script at all, what then?
  23. Well, yeah, exactly. We've got real news, speculation, supposition, and now fake news. Hollywood's in a bit of a mess at the moment as it is, what with the Writers Guild strikes, so everyone's second guessing which films are and aren't going to go ahead (here's hoping Justice League does), and it's affecting TV as well (Heroes mini-series Heroes:Origins has been postponed |-/ ). The last thing we need now is fake news.
  24. Erm, excuse me? That's a bit of a generalisation, don't you think?
