  1. I would have put a proper eye in, but I was trying to keep it in scale, and there was no way of doing it without it looking odd. I used two of these with one of these in the middle, then built the other bits around it. The 1x1 plate in the middle allows room for the 1x2/2x2 plates of the skirt, and at the same time gives two distinctly separate 'halves.'
  2. Good things? I guess top of the list are Star Wars, Batman and LSW of course. But then there's the deeper good things, like continuing to fill our lives with excitement and creativity, and allowing us all to gather here. I mean, without TLC, there'd be no EB.
  3. I had quite a good day today actually. Well, this morning was a bit boring, but this afternoon improved tenfold. I finished college at 12:00 ( *y* ), and offered to walk my friend home, as she lives about 10 minutes away. First we had to wait for someone to finish chemistry workshop, so they could exchange some forms for something, which was actually quite boring as her friends were talking absolute rubbish. But after about 30-40 minutes ( :-| ), we set off. She had to be back in college for 2:00 anyway, so seeing as how I'd walked her home, she invited me in, and we hung out at her house for a bit. Her dogs seemed to take a real shine to me. Then as if the day couldn't get any better, I called into Woolies on my way home and picked up 3 new Lego sets. So, quite a good day all told. Unfortunately, I've got to go and do my English coursework now :'-( .
  4. Picked up Indy Motorcycle Chase, Radiak and Rebel Scout Speeder from Woolies today. I just called in, not expecting to find anything, but there they were. Not built them yet, though. Interestingly, the price tag underneath the Indy set actually said "Indy Jones Motorcycle Chase." Indy Jones?
  5. I don't know, I was a bit disappointed by the selection this time around. There just doesn't seem to be that much of any interest to me. Not nothing, just not much. And how disappointing was it to realise that the Drill Unit wasn't a surprise
  6. And so unlike me. ;-)
  7. X-D I think you're right. It's like the one in the Batcave.
  8. I was thinking the same. Not that the hull's bad, far from it, it just looks more visually interesting in the second picture.
  9. Quite alright, and I like the way that they're easily removable. Maybe you could flip a coin to see which you should go for on any given day.* Oh well, in that case... maybe I should change it to something wild and crazy, like EF hair or Two-Face's. X-D *Yep, another Bat-joke.
  10. Wow, very nice. Accurate, recognseable, yet distinctly simple. And (self-promotion) my Daleks are minifig-scale, if anyone's interested: Well, alright, Dalek.
  11. Thanks mate, although the fact that it's taken me 2 days to say it is a testament to the fact. :-D Well, he actually asked about Iron Man, how he came to take up the suit, etc. But otherwise, guilty as charged. But... collect Empire? Oh no, I don't need to do that. Our college library gets it in on subscription, as it could be useful for the film/media students. My friend and I have both got a three-and-a-half hour break on Thursday afternoons, and there's not much point going home, so we do our maths homework, and read the new Empire whenever it's there. It's cheaper by far than buying it! ;-) Well, it was due to changes in the structure of the Multiverse caused by Superboy-Prime and Earth-1 Superman (Kal-L) punching at the fabric of reality this time, so I'll let them off on originality. Oh yeah, course, Mxy's great. Yeah, I read that somewhere. It's quite a nice interpretation, I think. And it sets up the possibility of a third film, focusing more on Two-Face. I haven't even read them, but that's mainly due to not having been able to find them rather than not wanting to. But I'm planning on going to Manchester with my friends in a few weeks, so hopefully Forbidden Planet will have them in stock. And back to Lego (sorry, personal joke). Do we know for sure if we're going to see them, or is that just a supposition? I think they tend to show whatever they've got. If it's preliminary, they'll show that, if it's finished or near-finished, that's what we'll see. I so desperately hope we get Gordon. I mean, some of the other missing characters are somewhat excuseable, but not Gordon.
  12. Thanks for the pics. I guess it's nice to see everythnig in one place. That is, everything that is shown. Sadly, there're still the other two Batman sets to be revealed pisture-wise, and the other bits and pieces people have mentioned. It's really looking like a fantastic year.
  13. Nothing... I practically did nothing today. Well, I did my biology homework, and finished my maths homework, then watched a bit of TV. Pretty boring day really. Well, actually the maths homework was the highlight...
  14. I'm assuming that 3 Euro is the regular price for Impulse sets? If so, I think the chariot may be a little big. That said though, it's only 25 pieces, so it may well be. The catapult is more than likely Impulse.
  15. Well, 'enjoyed' is certainly one way of putting it... ;-) Oh, you do know how to please a guy.
  16. Ah, new pictures. I think the word 'fun' springs to mind. They aren't too bad actually. It's nice to see crocodiles back, and the barbed wire and laptop pieces are very cool indeed, especially the laptop. The face designs are very nice, and we look to be getting some new hair pieces, as well, along with a few other interesting pieces. The gates in the car set look awfully similar to the gates in the Bat-tank. I do quite like the car, though. And the mobile HQ's not bad either, but that's mostly because it's a mobile HQ. I'll reserve final judgement regarding buying them until I see more of them, but I do quite like the look of them. It's not a serious look at spys or secret organisations, but for what it is it's very good. It reminds me a bit of Action Man and Max Steel, actually.
  17. Sadly, a minifig doesn't actually fit into it, but I just couldn't work out a good way of doing that. But it's a little taller than a minfig, and a little bit wider due to the arms, which kind of makes up for it. :-D I redeemed myself yesterday though by reeling off all the information I had on Two-Face, Iron Man's origin, The Abomination (from The Hulk), traditional Batcycles, the Metal Men and the Joker while my friend and I were reading a list of this year's film releases in Empire yesterday. I've chosen to interpret 'interesting' as 'more,' seeing as how I never liked Jason Todd. And then they had to go and bring him back from the dead. Still, he's a better character now as the Red Hood than he ever was as Robin. And yes, that was the minor tussle I meant. Batmite? Oh no, we don't mention him... still, his inclusion in Superman/Batman: Vengeance was okay. I just always thought he was a bit, well, you know... Here are the rest of his DC customs. This might interest you, Batbrick. When I was reading Empire yesterday, or more specifically the article on TDK, it mentioned that Harvey Dent would "meet his fate." So... we're getting Two-Face in TDK!
  18. You're most welcome, and it's especially good to see you did the idea justice. :-) Now, onto the subject matter. The UCS Batmobile is a nice MOD, and while I personally prefer the engine bay exposed, this is a very simple, yet very stylish MOD. The Batboat, Batmobile and Batcopter, again, are very nice, and definitely improved by the lack of a shooter-thing on the BM and BC. The Batboat does perhaps look better without the fins, but I think I'll leave them on mine. And I'm glad to have served as a source of inspiration regarding the Bat-Tank. The Riddler, well, I've always preferred the brown/black-haired Riddler, but still this is a very nice custom. I'm impressed with the cane, btw. As for Freeze, it's an easy change that just adds that little extra something to the fig. Nice work here. Honestly, I laughed quite a bit when I first saw this. So simple, yet so inspired. I look forward to seeing more, Batbrick. Hang on-- Much needed?! I'm tempted to take back all of what I just said! ;-)
  19. Sigh, it's been a long week, so I'm just glad to have finished, because I'm really quite tired. Didn't do much at college today, and I've not got anything planned for over the weekend. Which is good, because I need a bit of a relax. So I did a bit of MOCing when I got home.
  20. The Enterprise certainly looks like it should, which is good. Thanks for pointing these out.
  21. I like. And thanks for including me, it cheered me up after the dismal weather we've been having recently. No seriously, it was a real surprise scrolling down slightly and seeing myslef arrive late (now there's something I never thought I'd say). Oi, what do you mean 'even'? ;-) I look forward to the next one.
  22. Thanks for the extra time, I might be able to finish now. Mine's still halfway through, at the same stage as it was last time I posted. ...when I seem to remember saying "It should be finished soon." :-|
  23. Nice work Hewkii. It's always nice to see Doctor Who MOCs, and while oth are perhaps a little small, they have a sort of cutesy charm, and enough detail to make them recogniseable and distinctive. The actual Dalek Emperor (from the new series) can't. Well, not to be picky, but Mission to the Unknown was only one episode, The War Games was 10 episodes, The Invasion was 8, The Evil of The Daleks was 7, The Five Doctors was 1 double-length episode, and The Trial of a Time Lord was technically 14. "Would you like a jelly baby?" X-D
  24. A very inventive and ingenious way to make a superb looking tree. Nice work, and thanks for sharing. Thanks also for the cutaway pics.
