Nice screenshots. That third one with Indy swinging across the ravine is really quite cool, and it's always nice to see the crocodile piece.

Watched the They Were Always Real To Me video the other day. That is just so cool. Although I found it a little difficult to hear what Megs was saying. With regards Onslaught, it's sad he's not a combiner/gestalt anymore, but he was never one of my favourite characters anyway so I'm not all that bothered. It would have been nice to see all five Combaticons though.

Andrex here with a Lego Batman Screenshot Blowout!
Brainbox replied to Andrex's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thanks Legomilk. Villain mode, eh? How cool is that? I guess it was inevitable though, seeing as how the villains are as much a part of the Batman mythos as Bats himself. What else was in the article? Oh yes, vehicle levels. Well, that's always good, as long as we get lots of variety... and, yes Batbrick, by that I mean lots of Batmobiles :-D . Power suits as well. I suppose that could work, as long as they're good powers. Frankly, I just hope we see lots of cool levels, maybe one inside the Batcave itself (as well as Arkham and GCPD levels *wub* ), and a whole lot of rogues. -
Not much happened to me today either. But, I did manage to get a decent amount of work done in my break this afternoon. And that's weird, because we never get much done on Thursdays- we just end up talking. I feel as if the Universe is about to collapse. But since I last posted in this thread, I've been ill, started some volunteer work at a primary school, wasted a weekend because a trip to see family was cancelled (in advance) due to snow being forecast (which never happened), had to get through a panto practice on my own and prepared to not be able to do anything this weekend as the trip's been rescheduled. Ah, the perils of a social life :-D .

Which year is the Advent Calendar from? This year, it's due out around September I think. As for the new Battle Packs, I like them. As long as they're not too expensive (and available here) then great. I mean 5 figs each? And relatively decent figs at that. Being a return to the Castle of old, there's also the nostalgia element. It's nice to see an updated version though.

My custom Batman minifigures.... )
Brainbox replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
*wub* Ahhh... Penguin army. Some nice customs there Penguin, and I think the better ones are the simpler ones, like the Arkham doctors and the The Batman Riddler. I like the new hair for Robin/Tim as well, but Nightwing less so. UIt's not bad, not at all, I just don't think it's quite right for the character. But still very nice work. -
I think we have seen it before, but I don't think it was in this thread. For some reason, it was never posted here (IIRC).

Interesting. I mean, it was never my favourite theme, but I did quite enjoy the '06 stuff, and this year's looks quite nice. It's a pity to see a good theme with lots of potential go, and it's certainly done a lot for mech-building, introducing the concept to a new generation. But, with '08 like it is, '09 should be even better, so it almost makes up for it.

(Hmm... I've missed another piece of news |-/ ) Wow, look at that chess set. That is just so cool. Mere words cannot describe my current feelings with regards this set. Unfortunately, it'll probably cost a fortune, and in a year already loaded full of purchase and expenditure, both Lego and non-Lego, that's not a good thing. And I don't know if I can justify it as I don't (and can't) really play chess... no, scrap that, it's good for army-building. I mean, 9 dwarves!? But can I really get it? Forget the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything, this is the biggie.

Thanks *yoda* Damn, it looks like Batbrick's made more. ;-)
-
Well, I'm back. And that means I missed out on these when they first appeared. Still, never mind... You know, I believe you do. So, onto the sets: Batbuggy Well, yes, so it's not brilliant is it? But, like Batbrick, I do quite like it. I mean, if we do get a new Batsuit that's quite cool, and it's a cheap set. The ice effect on Freeze's gun is also nice, and it gets some points for being a more original Bat-vehicle. Scuba Jet Alright, nothing new, but the picture does look a bit clearer. Penguin's sub's actually quite nice, and Robin's jetsub isn't bad either. Tumbler Again, nothing new, but I don't mind it. So it's not perfect, but with a bit of work it could be pretty good. And the ice cream truck is nice. Batcycle Not really sure on the Batcycle itself, but the truck's nice enough. Weird, but quite cool. And Harley's *wub* especially with her enlarged hammer. No really, Harley's absolutely fantastic. So, basically, all the sets need MOD work, quite a lot in some cases, but I relish the challenge, and can't wait to add these into my Batcave shelf, and finish it for this year (before changing it when next years sets come out :-| ). Hopefully we will get a Wave 4, and this mystery set Batbrick keeps predicting, just so we get a Gordon.

Thanks Andrex for the info. This sounds great. LSW was fantastic anyway, and this sounds as good, if not better. More humour, great. Indy's snake phobia is a nice addition to the gameplay, and limited ammo should make it a bit tricky. This really sounds very good, more of what we've had already, with just a little bit extra.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

I think a minifig can lie on it as well, but I forgot to photograph (and indeed check properly) that. Yeah perhaps, but I'd have to mirror anything in the bedroom as well, seeing as how they use the same wall. I don't want to see my real loft! :'-( Oh you are cruel.
-
I quite like it as well. I wasn't sure when I fist saw it, thinking it to be more of the same reall, but actually it's quite nice. I mean three trolls/orcs, two knights, a nice enough tower, and a nice siege tower, fully in-character with the occupants. And then there's that quiver. And at least there is a cheap set with dwarves

I've just looked at some pictures and you're right. The TDK suit has a much smaller bat symbol than the BB suit. Knowing TLC though, they prpobably wouldn't distinguish between the two. They are fairly similar after all. I think it finishes today as well. Still, if they were there I'm sure they'll show up soon. I mean, I'll be happy with Harley if I have to be (but then, who wouldn't be? ;-) ) but I'd rather see Gordon as well.

The holidays? |-/ Well certainly. Comics writers are encouraged to put their own spin on characters, and artists are left to wander free with the Batcave and the Bat-vehicles, so why not with ol' Man-Bat? Actually Batbrick, I forgot to ask. Did you remove the missiles from the wings or not? Because I notice the hinges are still there, but you've got a 1x6 plate joining the two halves toether.

:-X What? I couldn't bear that. :-D The subtlety of bribery.

That's what we had this morning. My sister went out and played in the snow (not sure how she managed that, there was barely any), then by lunchtime it had mostly gone. :-|
-
I want one. Now. No seriously, how cool would it be to take out a USB 2x4 at work or whatever :-D .
-
Happy Birthday guys!

Well, last year's certainly was, but this is certainly intriguing: http://www.toymaster.co.uk/shop/Lego%20Castle.html I wonder if this years Castle stuff will be a Toymaster exclusive, or if they'll be available for general release? Unless this is last year's Castle stuff now becoming available on general release.
-
The TDK suit is actually more segmented than the BB suit, but seeing as how that's only really regards the limbs, a minifig version would probably be the same for both.
-
Oh... um... erm... well, actually now you come to mention it (and this isn't helping) but I used one the other day at college :-$ . "There's a line. We're on this side of the line. [she's] so far on that side of the line, she's actually back on our side." *wacko*

Wow Batbrick, that was quick. I wasn't expecting this for a while yet. (Collapsible) escrima sticks. Sigh, trust me to know that ;-) . Not to put to fine a point on it, but... yes. And some people dare to say that honour goes to Flash (Wally West). :-| Thanks mate. I'm feeling quite ill today (honestly, I was falling asleep in english today, and I mean that literallly), and you've just cheered me up a bit. Anyway, on to the content. From the top, the two bikes are certainly an improvement on the originals. I too liked the official helicopter, but I agree with regards the cockpit, so this is very nice. I may have to MOD mine a bit now. And as for the Batwing, while the MODs aren't extensive, they do improve on the official model (which is very nice anyway), no least with TLC's weird 'a bit, but not very, airtight' cockpit. Arkham does look quite nice bunched together actually, more so than I thought it would. As for Man-Bat, I have to admit that I wasn't sure from the first pic, but once I'd seen the shots with Bats (especially the one where Bats is on Man-Bat's back) I decided it was actually quite good. Not necessarily classic Man-Bat, but still a nice interpretation. Robin's speedboat is also nice, and the vig is very much in the spirit of Batman. Nice work.
