Trans clear lightsaber blades stuck into the tracks I believe.

Sadly, I can't do that. They live about 2 or 3 hours away. Hence why everyone comes round when we're there, as we don't see them all too often. Which means I feel uncomfortable every time we're there.

I wear Lego t-shirts to college and have Lego keyrings on my keys. That makes it kind of hard to hide!

Whenever we go down to my grandparents, all the family who are at home feel the need to descend on the house and see us... at the same time (seriously, that's like 15 people). I'm not particularly good with large numbers of people, especially if I don;t know them very well. We're usually only there for one night, so we end up coming back the day after hardly having spoken to my grandparents.

No, I understand why it was done, in both the comics and the cartoons, but it's always struck me as odd, somewhat unreal. Then again, I suppose it's no more unreal than an alien who's allergic to bits of his home planet. Actually, I'm on a bit of a tight budget as well. I have plenty of money, but it's all been carefully designated so I can buy everything I want. I think I can afford all the Batman sets, the Agents sets, and a couple of Castle sets I still haven't got, but not much else. A few graphic novels maybe. I had to pass on Masterpiece G1 Optimus Prime for £30 (less than half price) the other day, because I decided I couldn't afford it in the long run. I should hope so! Frankly, I'd settle if we only got Gordon, but a Mad Hatter and a Man-Bat would be nice. It'd be bad enough being there at the same time as a sibling, but your mum... 2nd. I start back at college at the beginning of September and a month later it's my birthday. Unfortunately that meant I didn't get any presents from friends last year as we didn't know each other well enough. So they all get two birthdays with everyone, and I get essentially get one. And why does the BBM have to be yellow?! Can't it be in the BB colours- blue and dark blue? Some low-slung BatbrickSaws in the BatbrickCave entrance no doubt. I'll make sure I do. Been reading Tales of the Multiverse: Batman: Vampire recently, from the library. It collects Batman/Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstorm and Batman: Crimson Mist. As Multiverse stories go, some work better than others. The vampire idea is a neat one, stretching all the way back to the creation of Batman in 1939. It was an okay story, even if EVERYONE DIED! Batman's internal monologue introspections were a little difficult to read sometimes, the lettering used was particularly curly. And Selina Kyle as the were-cat was... um... strangely attractive. You know, for a human-cat thing. Same goes for Cheetah actually. No, wait, that sounded wrong.

Isn't it always... Lounged around yesterday, and right now I really should be getting ready to go to the primary school I volunteer at this afternoon. But instead I'm on here!

I did. I went through school with everyone knowing about my hobby, and everyone thinking it was a bit childish, etc. Then I went to college, and made a point of wearing a Lego t-shirt on only my second day. Now all my friends know, they all think it's kind of quirky, and they all respect what I do with my Lego. They'll listen to me talk about it, some of them have seen my Lego, and one of them has even made a couple of MOCs! The guys at school never did any of that. That said, they do take the mick a bit for my compulsion to have everything exactly right. To the point where I'll know if something's in the wrong place and move it before I can continue what I'm supposted to be doing. It's something people grow out of (or at least they should). There's a fine line between harmless ribbing and making fun, but the older people get the more it sways towards harmless ribbing. Accept that this is your hobby, and if people don't like it, tough.

But Spy-Clops goes a long way to making up for it. Yes! I didn't think of that, of course. Of course, the laser satellite would be shaped like the badguy's head. Gadget pie. The top opens up to reveal a giant missile. Certainly a possibility. They need somewhere to keep all their gadgets and vehicles, and haang around talking about justice. Ooh, nice. They need a plane really. The closest they've got currently is Fuse's jet, which can hold a grand total of 1 Agent with 0 passengers. They need some way of getting everyone to a single place.

modification for the Mach 6 (Speed Racer: 8161)

You're still waiting for it? I thought you'd got it by now. -
Harley Ahem, sorry... This is fantastic. It's creative, and the Arkham gate looks fantastic. The use of the tread really works, and it adds another level to the vig. And it's Harley. Of course, the cavern underneath the gate would probably be part of the North West Batcave.

Luckily for you, no I'm not. Yep, it was very good. The thing that's always bothered me about Two-Face, and I can fully understand why this was done, is that the scarring stops with a perfect line down his face. There's no overlap onto the other half. What are the chances of that? I've seen the first one, but the second one hasn't come out here yet. August 15th I think. I've not read any of the comics, but I'm told that the films are pretty close to them. Well, the first one at least. It was certainly an enjoyable film, and the second one looks pretty good from the one trailer I've seen. I was wondering what had become of them. Um... it was you that said there weren't any other suspects. I'm 18 this October. And if you were born April 1992, then... yeah, about a year and a half. So I'll be starting uni when I've just turned 19. I don't know, you'll have to answer that one, seeing as how the Treat is yours. As for Bat-MOC 4 there's a relic of the 60s, a Bat-vehicle, an add-on, a couple of silly things, and some villain vehicles. I might make another mini Batmobile as well. And a Batbrick/Brainbox thing if I can think of a good idea. It certainly looks good. There's also a trailer/comic comparion on the site, and some of the shots are scarily close. No... but since you say that, I might have a look later.

Um... I do that as well. I find myself doing it with Doctor Who, watching episodes and going "No, sorry, back in [...] it was said that [...]". Oh yeah, I loved it. I just have a problem displaying emotions. Yes he is. That's why I thought it was interesting. It was very well done I have to say. And it's things like that, as well as numerous other dark moments across the series that set BTAS out from other cartoons. Not just of the era, but generally. How many other cartoons are that, well, adult? Oh I agree, less is more. He's such a malevolent force of evil, he doesn't need to be at the forefront all the time. No other suspects?! Only because they decided it was Bullock. He may be a bit rough around the edges (a bit?), but does that make him a kidnapper? The DC Editorial staff swear this is the last one, no more, finito. Let's look at it this way. During the run-up in Countdown we had the death of the New Gods (okay, so some of them are living in human recepticles now, but they're still technically dead), then before that in 52 Black Adam killed most of Bialya. Now J'onn is dead, and Bludhaven has become a base for 'evil' with captured humans (Batman among them) for slavery, etc. Seriously, we'd better not have another crisis, or there'll be no-one left! Sounds good. You should check out Detective Comics #824 (Night of the Penguin) if you can. It features the new Iceberg Lounge quite heavily. I believe it's in the Detective trade. And what's it going to be like when I go to university (in about a year)? I won't have space for anything! Oh thanks. I might be able to get it up this week if I get my act together. And find the camera. What? Dark Knight Fortnight? How could I have missed that? On a related note, have you seen the new Watchmen trailer? I really need to find the graphic novel before the film comes out. Thing is, I don't want to buy it (and I can't afford it), so I need to find it in the library... The film looks visually impressive, I'll give it that.

That's the one. Incidentally, I meant TLG (The Lego Group) not TLC. TLC is The Lego Club. -
Empireonline's 50 greatest comic characters Once again, the Joker has been credited with an aka Jack Napier. Nope, sorry, never been revealed in the comics. Jack yes, Napier no.
-
Or not... I can't find the camera, so I'll try and get one up later. What? Only 30? I though there were at least 100. It's good for us though. If you buy all the sets, then you get spare uniforms to make more generic henchmen or spare Agents uniforms o go in the Mobile HQ as replacements should the ones they're wearing get damaged. Plus, there're lots of nice pieces to go in the parts bins. Heads, yes, but hair is more to the point. Lots of cool hairpieces to use! Isn't it great when you just stumble onto a deal like that with no prior knowledge of it?

Oh yeah, all the time. I re-read my Transformers trades quite a bit, but sometimes that's to go back and check something that was mentioned earlier on, as it all ties together. I re-read some of the things in my CEs sometimes as well. In fact, a few months ago, I went back and read everything I wanted to in full. As in, a story at a time, rather than an issue at a time, since there are three (usually) stories in each. Oh yeah. I never got to watch them much when they were on TV. I mean I was pretty young in 1992 (1 or 2 in fact), so obviously I never saw them first time around. But then even with repeat showing as I grew older, and the later series, I still didn't get to see much of it. Cartoon imports here have a tendency to be on at stupid times of the morning, around 8:00 or 9:00. Weekdays I'm getting ready, weekends I'm in bed. And now with the digital channels, they're on non-freeview channels (which I don't have). In that sense, it's good to be able to enjoy something new. Most of the films and series I buy, I buy because I watched them when they were on. This is completely new. Plus, it's a fantastic series, with so many ties to the whole Bat-mythos. What can go wrong? Besides I've Got Batman In My Basement, that is. Watched Prophecy of Doom and Feat of Clay (both parts) last night, then The Joker's Favour and Vendetta today. Prophecy was okay. It was strange how no-one made the connection between Carl Fowler and Nostromos despite the fact they look exactly the same. I mean, yes, Batman worked it out, but only after a while. Surely if you're going to con people with a disguise, make the disguise look different to the real you! And of course, Bruce quotes Shakespeare. I see we've slipped back to the 60s again... Feat of Clay was really rather good. Like you said before, the animation for Clayface in part 2 was simply superb. It was noticable dark as well. We had attempted murder, framing, attempted suffocation by pillow, torture by having liquid forced down your throat, mutilation... It was nice to see some of the background characters get a bit of a look in as well. Germs for instance. Neat bit of characterisation there. And of course, Ron Perlman as Clayface, I'd forgotten about that. I can see now what TLCs Clayface in the game is modelled on. TJF was a Joker story, so it was bound to be good. Plus it was Harley's first appearance. Enough said, really. Oh, and Batman laughed. That was a bit creepy actually... Vendetta. Again, nice. It's good to see more of the GCPD, and the Batboat/sub looks pretty cool (from what little we saw of it). Croc was done well, but it's strange how everyone was so quick to turn on Bullock despite very little strong incriminating evidence... Looks like it yeah. Libra, the new head of the reorganised Secret Society of Super-villains, killed him with a flaming spear, because it's what the Human Flame wanted most (the death). It was really quite sad to read actually, as he said goodbye to a select few (Superman, Batman, Hal Jordan, Black Canary and Gypsy), and had them record the history of Mars via a telepathic trance. I have to say, Final Crisis is shaping up quite well. I haven't read any of it, save Requiem, but I've kept abreast of what's happening. The day that evil won indeed... Iceberg Lounge, eh? Sounds interesting. I wish I could build more big MOCs, but honestly I don't have the space, either for building or for displaying. Bat-MOC 4 is nearly ready for photographing. I think maybe just a couple more things. I've lost it a bit with this one, there're a few silly things sneaking in there. Still, wait and see the good stuff... Very good...

Not that I'm aware of. The Riddler bit at the beginning immediately tells us we can expect more of that tongue-in-cheek humour from the previous games, and it's nice to see some more of the villains. It looks as though Riddler has some sort of hypnotism ability in his cane, and the costume change thing is cool. Oh, and what about those exploding teddy bears? Built with a dark red Catwoman mask. Dont' we get 3 chapters of 6 levels each, then a hero and villain of each of those? That makes 18 hero and 18 villain levels, with a total of 36. Plus some bonus levels I should think. Oh yeah. I forgot about that.

modification for the Mach 6 (Speed Racer: 8161)
Brainbox replied to Courleciel's topic in LEGO Licensed
You know what, that's not a bad ide. If I get a moment later, I might build a rough mock-up from the instructions so I can visualise it better. I don't know. The thing is, even if you make it free-turning, and not attached 'solidly' to the wheel axle, it's still going to trun with the wheel because of friction and all that. I suppose the other option is just to use TLCs hubcap piece. It won't have the 'M' but it'll save a lot of trouble! -
I'll have to get a picture up, show you what I mean. I cleared a load of stuff off a shelf just so I could display the two sets I have. Trouble is, I'm doubtful the Mobile HQ or the Volcano HQ will fit on their own, let alone with all the other sets... Ah yes, I was planning a similar thing, but not a Bat-pod. More a light car-thing. Don't worry, go ahead with your idea. TLC's figure distribution for this line is whacked, but I think it's worked out to our advantage.

modification for the Mach 6 (Speed Racer: 8161)
Brainbox replied to Courleciel's topic in LEGO Licensed
Looking at some pictures, I can see what you mean. I was thinking you could use either this or this to connect the clips. But I see that could be difficult with the wheel arches. Hmm... I don't really know. How about this with both the afforementioned? BTW, I'm quite happy to help and I can't wait to see the finished result. -

The clip brackets? You could use some SNOT pieces like the washing machine brick or something. Not having the car makes it difficult for me to recommend anything as I can't test it, but I think that should work somehow. -
Yes. Look at the gamesradar link (from before), and it's under Powers. Killer Moth can glide, Mad Hatter can super-jump and probably hypnotise enemies. He was in Batgirl: Year One as well. Or maybe that was the one you remember. Course, he's Charaxes at the moment (or is he? A new Killer Moth has appeared on the streets of Gotham).

Oh I accept that. I just didn't shed any tears when he died is all. I haven't come across one, no. But Catwoman: When In Rome takes place during Dark Victory, which of course takes place after The Long Halloween. I think TMWL is generally accepted as second year, as is TLH. Um... yes, it may well have been. But I've not read any Swamp Thing, and I was sure I'd read it somewhere. Hmm... And did you notice all the episode titles of The Gray Ghost? If you pause the DVD, you can see one called Dr. Death and one called Spy Smashers. Some nice little in-jokes there I think. Also, the reel he takes out is number 18, the same episode number as the BTAS episode itself. Yes, I noticed. Can't wait to get to them. Don't forget Robin's Reckoning though. Damn you. It's not out until next Friday here (although some adverts say Thursday). That said, I may end up going twice, once with my dad, and once with my friend, as she suggested we should go. EDIT: Forgot to say, I picked up DCU #0 and Final Crisis: Requiem the other day. DCU was nothing special, but because of the 50 cents price in America, it was only 30p! And the hint/teaser at the end was very nice. FC was really good, it made me a little emotional at times if I'm honest. In case you've not kept up with FC, I'll spoiler this, Unfortunately, I was reading it on the bus, so crying wouldn't have been such a good thing!

I guess he fits with the whole tongue-in-cheek humour of the games though. The cinematics can make him look useless! They said 18 villains right? I think we've had 14, so that's 4 left. We were told Man-Bat was in, but we haven't seen him. I suppose the other three could be Ventriloquist/Scarface, Ra's and Firefly (using the same frame as Killer Moth). But, if the villains are splitting into groups (3 groups of 6), that doesn't sound very Ra's does it? As for the heroes, we've only seen 5. I think it would be safe to assume that Alfred will be there, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Did you notice in the trailer how very 60s it was when Joker, Riddler and Penguin cover their ears and huddle from the dynamite?
-
Oh, well in that case, I'll have my work cut out.
